Introduction
1. Good morning everyone
2. Before we begin, I would like to introduce myself
3. Im Mr. ___________ an accredited assessor for computer system servicing NCII
4. Also I would like to introduce to you, our guests
5. Mr. ____________ our Assessment Center Manager

7. Don’t be distracted by their presence here
8. They are not here to assess you
9. They are here to oversee the conduct of assessment and to check that the conduct of assessment
is in accordance with the standards of methodologies and procedures
B. Admission slip and Attendance sheet
10. Now, I will collect all the admission slip that were given to you, and later you will sign the
attendance sheet after I verified your identity.
11. So as I call your name you come here near me and hand me your admission slip.

which indicate that you are ready for competency assessment on CSS NCII
D. Assessment
16. What is assessment?
17. Assessment is the collection of evidence and making judgement on whether a competency has
been achieved.
18. Assessment has 6 purposes
a. For job qualification
b. Recruitment
c. Employee classification
d. Education or training needs
e. Assurance of progress
f. Recognition of prior knowledge
E. Computer System Servicing
19. Computer system servicing has basic, common, and core competency
20. In Computer system servicing, there are 4 core competencies namely
a. Install and configure computer system
b. Set-up computer network
c. Set-up computer server
d. Maintain and repair computer system and network
21. Computer system servicing is a COC type of assessment
22. Assessment of competency is divided into 4 COC
a. COC 1 installing and configuring computer system
b. COC 2 Set up computer network
c. COC 3 set up computer server
d. And lastly COC 4 maintain and repair computer system and network
e. If you got satisfactory remarks on all competencies you can apply for NC
f. However, if you got only 1, 2 or 3 satisfactory remarks, you can only apply for Certificate
of competency on competencies that you satisfactorily achieved.
g. Otherwise, if you did not get satisfactory remarks on all or a particular competency,
don’t worry you can do reassessment in your convenient time.
F. Time
23. The method of assessment that will be used on CSS are demonstration and oral interview
24. For demonstration
a. On COC1 you will be expected to
i. Assemble and disassemble computer hardware
ii. Prepare bootable window installer on flash disk using rufus
iii. Install operating system
iv. Partition the hard drive
v. Install application and software
vi. In COC 1 you will be assessed for 2 hours
b. On COC2 you will be expected to
i. Set up network cables
ii. Set up wireless connection using router
iii. COC 2 will be assessed for 2 hours
c. On COC 3 you will be expected to
i. Set up computer servers
ii. Create network domain and users
iii. Deploy printer
iv. Create file redirection
v. You will be assessed on COC 3 for 2 hours
d. On COC 4 you are expected to
i. Back up files
ii. Repair computer system
iii. Replace defective component
iv. You will be assessed on COC 4 for 1 hour
e. Overall, we have 7 hours on demonstration
25. For the oral interview, you will be given 10 questions to answer, and the interview session will
last 30 minutes
26. Overall, we have a total of 7 and a half hour for the competency assessment on CSS NC II

G. Procedure
27. Later we will start on demonstration so I will call all candidates to proceed to their respective
computer station, and you will perform coc 1, coc2, coc 3 and coc 4 simultaneously
28. After the demonstration, all of you will proceed to the waiting area. I will call you one by one for
the interview session.
H. NEEDS
29. Now, who among you have religious practices that might affect our assessment? And who among
you here need medication during the assessment? Please let me know so that I can give you time
for that.
I. Language
30. Also, who among you here has difficulty understanding English? Please let me know so that I can
translate it to you.
J. Do’s and Don’t’s
31. Let’s talk about the do’s and donts
32. Under do’s you are expected to follow the security policy and procedure
33. You are expected to observe the rules and regulation here in the assessment center.
34. Under the don’t’s
35. You are not allowed to use cellphone
36. You are not allowed to loiter
37. Leave the assessment center premises without permission from the AC manager
K. Rights to appeal
38. After the assessment, if you are not satisfied with the remarks given to you. You have the right to
appeal. You can do this by formally writing a letter address and give it to the AC manager
immediately after the assessment. Now tomorrow.
39. As the assessor, I have the right to stop the assessment if I perceive an imminent danger that
could compromise our safety.
L. Issuance of NC or COC and reassessment
40. For the issuance of the NC and COC, the AC manager will release the CARs after the assessment.
Depending on the remarks that you received you may apply for NC or COC. For instance, if you
got a competent remark on your CARS you may apply for national certificate at TESDA provincial
office just bring 1 passport size photo with white background and you should be wearing clothes
with collar, the CARs and 50 pesos for processing fee
41. In contrast, if you got a not competent remark on your CARS, you have two option
42. First you may apply for the Certificate of competency of the competencies that you satisfactorily
achieved.
43. Second, you may apply for the re-assessment of the competencies that you did not satisfactorily
achieved at any TESDA accredited Assessment Center at you own convenient time
44. Now if all of your competencies received a not satisfactory, don’t be afraid because you can do
reassessment anytime at your convenience

65. No. 2 why is it important to wear static control devices when working inside the computer? To
avoid electro static discharge
66. No. 3 After unplugging the Computer system, why is it important to press and hold the power
button for at least 3 seconds before working inside the computer? To discharge remaining power
67. No. 4 how many pins are on DDR3 DIMM? 240
68. No. 5 how many notches does a DDR3 DIMM have? 1
69. No. 6 how many threads can a quad core processor handle at once? 8
70. No. 7 if a program is hung and not responding how can you stop it? Ctrl alt delete and end task
71. No. 8 if non-essential service is slowing down the system start-up, how can you permanently
disable it?

second student – Not Competent - Interview session

interview. This interview will last for 30 minutes

c. If I were you I will install all the drivers right after the installation of the operating
system on the computer. You need to practice installing the drivers

to tesda provincial office after 4 working days and bring 1 passport size picture with white
background and collar and bring 50 pesos for processing fee. And For reassessment of COC1,
practice first the skills on installing drivers and then you must apply at any assessment center at
your own convenient time.
