Course Description:
The NSTP 2 Community Immersion (CWTS 2) is the practicum aspect of the National Service Training Program (CWTS 1) wherein students apply
what they have learned in NSTP 1 to conduct community projects with their partner communities for the purpose of empowering both students and
community for nation-building. It is designed to immerse students in activities that will arm them with the capability to contribute in the upliftment of the
General Welfare and the quality of the life of the community and the enhancement of it’s facilities especially those who are devoted to improving the
health, environment, entrepreneurship, safety, recreation, and morale of the citizens.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course, the students are expected to:
LO1 Discuss the importance of community immersion as an approach and strategy of community development in deprived, depressed, and undeserved
communities;
LO2 Manifest the use of experience-based strategies and approaches in community immersion relevant to students who want to become leaders in
their respective communities;
LO3 Internalize virtues as the foundation of leadership, and how it applies on an individual team, and institutional level vis a vis national development;
and;
LO4 Document team activities in their assigned immersion area and provide a record of their learning experiences in carrying out their community
immersion projects.

Grading System
Final grade in this course is 1/3 of the midterm and 2/3 of final grade
Class Standing 40 percent (Quizzes, Narrative Reports)
Major Exams 40 percent (Midterm Exam, Final Exam)
Projects 20 percent (Performance in the community Immersion Project, Project Accomplishment Reports)
Classroom Policies
The students are expected to attend the NSTP Parents/Spouse/Guardian and Students Orientation for Community Immersion. They are limited to a
total of 11 hours absences (both excused and unexcused) from classroom instruction and community immersion work. Thus, a student who incurs
absences more than this number is automatically dropped from the class.
Prompt submission of requirements should be observed. No special examination will be given except for valid reason.
