Recovery Mode

Generally, Android users encounter “No Command” error when they try to install any new software update or try to access
recovery mode. In fact, in several cases, your device only waits for a single command to access recovery options.

In this situation, some of the users get stuck in boot loop along with no command error and it occurs every time when users t ry to
start their device.

Now this is not the only situation with you but plenty of Android users has already faced such errors on their phones.

“Phone stuck in boot loop; tried recovery mode but no command. I’m having a big problem when running recovery mode I get the

Common reasons that lead to “No Command” Error
The Android users can come across this error when their installation process of app store is being cancelled, during resetting your
Smartphone or when trying to update OS. All these process needs to enter Android Recovery Mode and after that finish the
process.

How to fix “No command” error on Android

then kindly switch off your phone and take the battery out and again try the above key combinations.
Solution 1: Solve ‘No command’ error to access Recovery mode

know that it needs some command to go ahead. It means that a few key combinations will help to solve the error on Android.

Solution 2: Wipe cache partition


One of the easiest and simplest ways to resol ve ‘No command’ error on Android is by wiping cache partition. For that, you have to
press Volume Down key and then move to “Wipe cache partition” option. After that press Power button and again press to
confirm the cache deletion.

Then at last, use “Reboot Device” feature to restart your phone and check whether the problem is solved or not.
Solution 3: Install update manually

If you encounter this error at the time or after software update then you have to install the update manually. For that, you have to
follow the below steps:

Use Volume Down key to go to “Apply update from cache” option and then press Powerbutton to open it. Here you have to see
the available software update and select it and press Power button to install the update manually.
Even if no command error is faced while flashing custom ROM, then simply go to “ Apply update from external storage” and
select ‘Updater’ option and after that choose software file that you have downloaded.

Solution 4: Solve ‘no command’ error by flashing ROM


When you are not able to solve the “no command” error by following the key combinations then you have to do some little work
more to fix it. Flashing custom ROM can solve the problem.

Similar to stock ROM version, doing a custom ROM will give users a new experience with new features as per your device and
allow to customize it completely. So doing this will help to resolve no command error in Android recovery mode.

To do the process, you need to unlock bootloader and requires ROM to flash. CynogenModis one of the popular version that should
be downloaded from here. Apart from this, you need Google App’s zip file that will be downloaded from here.
Also ensure that your device is compatible with the version during downloading. Then install TWRP recovery environment on
device and enable developer options to process all the required steps.
Step 1: First, connect your Android phone to computer via USB cable and transfer all the recent downloaded files to phone’s
internal memory or SD card.

Step 2: Here, boot your device to TWRP mode with proper key combinations. Many times, simply
pressing Power and Volume down button together to enter TWRP recovery mode. Now click on “Wipe” button to reset your
device.
Step 3: After that, you will see the below screen. Only you have to swipe your device in order to proceed the reset
process.

Step 4: Now its time to go back to main page and click on “ Install” option to flash ROM

Step 5: You will see the below picture on your device. Only you have to select recently transferred zip file

Step 6: Now again swipe your phone to begin the installation process
Step 7: Wait for sometime until the installation is over and after it is done, m ove to home screen and repeat the entire
process to install Google apps zip file.

Step 8: After the process is finished successfully, click on “ Wipe data”. At last, reboot your device by clicking
“Reboot system” button and get rid of the error you are coming across on your Android phone.

Solution 5: Factory reset phone

When nothing help you to get out of the error then doing a Factory reset of your phone will surely help to fix the
problem.

But this is a risky process because everything will be deleted from Android phone. So ensure all your important data is
already backed up in safe place before doing factory reset.

To move further, use Volume Down key, select “Wipe data/factory reset” option, and then press Power button. After
that, confirm the prompt and reset process will begin.

Once the process is finished, your Android phone will start normally and all things have to set up again.

Step 1. Connect Your Android Phone
First download Android Recovery software and then select “Recover”

Now connect your android device to PC via USB cable. Also be sure you have enabled USB debugging. After your

Step 2. Select the file types to scan


After your device is connected to PC, Android Recovery software will display data types that it supports. Here you
have to select the data types you want to recover.

After that click on “Next” to continue the process.


Now it will scan your device to rescue lost data. This will take few minutes.

Step 3. Now preview and recover deleted data


At last when the entire scanning gets over, you have the preview option where you can check which data to recover.
Select them and click “Recover” to save all lost data on your PC.
