Deployment Guide (Based on Windows)
1.1 Glossary
The following table introduces the concepts involved in the network scheme that are
required before the network scheme is introduced.
Term Description
The UNM2000 server is deployed on the physical machine; the UNM2000 client and
NE communicate with the server through the DCN. Figure 1-1 shows the network in
which the single-server system (Windows) is deployed on a physical machine.
2 Version: A
1 Installation Overview
The UNM2000 server is deployed on the cloud platform of a virtual machine; the
UNM2000 client and NE communicate with the server through the DCN. Figure 1-2
shows the network in which the single-server system (Windows) is deployed on the
cloud platform of a physical machine.
Version: A 3

Deployment Guide (Based on Windows)
This section introduces hardware configuration principles for the server and client.
Table 1-2 describes the hardware configuration requirements of the server. The
hardware configurations of the virtual machine are recommended to be the same as
those of the physical machine.

1.4 Precautions
u Use UPS power supply to avoid loss of network management data caused by
accidental power failure.
u One server can be installed with one set of UNM2000 network management
system only.
u The computer case, UPS power supply and switch (or hub) should be
connected to protection earth ground.
6 Version: A
1 Installation Overview
u Do not visit Internet via the network management server. Doing so may
increase data flow in the network card and hence affects normal network
management data transmission.
u To shut down the network management server, exit the operation system
normally and then shut off the power supply.

UNM2000, the device management IP address in the manager is intended for
connecting the OTNM2000, and hence should be modified as required to connect
the UNM2000.
Procedure
2. Right-click the manager program and select Manager Property from the
shortcut menu to open the Manager Property dialog box.
3. Select an entry and click Modify to open the Modify IP address of the
management device dialog box.

5 Commissioning the UNM2000
When the UNM2000 communicates with devices via the DCN, you should configure
a GNE group by referring to the GNE settings on the OTNM2000, so as to avoid
service interruption caused by gateway failure.
Prerequisite
Background Information
The GNE group directly or indirectly connects to the UNM2000 through the
management network interface (DCN). A GNE coupled with its connected NE
constitutes a management domain. The OTNM2000 accesses the NE of the
management domain by way of the GNE of the management domain.
Procedure
2. Right-click GNE Group Management and select Create GNE Group from the
shortcut menu.
3. In the Create GNE Group dialog box, set the GNE group name and GNE
group member (i.e. binding the MA NE).

As the authentication data of the OTNM2000 are not imported into the UNM2000
along with the configuration data, the authentication data should be manually added
to the UNM2000 by referring to the authentication data of the OTNM2000. This
section introduces how to set the authorization and domain division.
Prerequisite
Background Information
According to the original authority and managed objects of a user, configure the
corresponding authority and managed objects for the user on the UNM2000. If the
UNM2000 is only used for co-management (not used for any delivery operations),
all users' control commands that could change device statuses such as activation,
modification or deletion should be disabled.
Procedure
1. Select Security→NMS User Management from the main menu to open the
NMS User Management tab.
Note:
Refer to the security management section in the Operation Guide for the
specific operation process.
70 Version: A
5 Commissioning the UNM2000
You can view the performance history only after the performance collection task has
been created.
Background Information
In case of co-management by the UNM2000 and OTNM2000, you need to set the
performance collection task on the UNM2000 by referring to the performance history
filtering information on the OTNM2000, so as not to collect the performance code
already filtered on the OTNM2000. In this way, the performance history information
queried via the OTNM2000 and UNM2000 is consistent.
Prerequisite
Procedure
2. Right-click Collection Task and select Create Collection Task from the
shortcut menu.
3. Set Basic Information and Collection Object & PM-Code in the Create
Collection Task dialog box.

Prerequisite
You have viewed the current alarm shielding information on the OTNM2000.
Background Information
In case of co-management by the UNM2000 and OTNM2000, you should set the
current alarm shielding on the UNM2000 by referring to the current alarm shielding
information on the OTNM2000, so as to ensure the consistency of alarm information
on the OTNM2000 and UNM2000.
Procedure
2. Right-click Alarm Shield Rule Management and select Create from the
shortcut menu.
3. In the Create Current Alarm Shield Rule dialog box, set the Basic
Information, Shield Conditions and Effective Time as required.

5 Commissioning the UNM2000
You can set alarm flashing shielding rules to shield certain alarms and improve
alarm processing efficiency.
Background Information
u When the interval between the alarm report time and the previous alarm
clearance time is shorter than the specified period, the alarm is defined as a
flashing alarm.
u The UNM2000 discards the alarms meeting the alarm flashing shielding rules
rather than displaying them or saving them in the database.
Procedure
2. Right-click Alarm Shield Rule Management and select Create from the
shortcut menu.
3.
In the Create Current Alarm Shield Rule dialog box, set the Basic
Information, Shield Conditions and Effective Time as required.

Failure Description
After the server is installed, initializing the MySQL database succeeded but the PAS
service node is not started.
Possible Reason
The PAS and UNM2000 bus of the original UNM2000 version are separated. This
new version integrates the PAS and UNM2000 bus and the PAS NODE service is
not completely uninstalled when the new UNM2000 version is used to uninstall the
original one.
