PHILOSOPHY OF JAMMING RELAY PROTECTION AND OVERLOAD RELAY PROTECTION IN SOOTBLOWER MCG, 1. Overload protection is for all motors and for all blowers, 2 The setting of ovatload relay shall be 105% for all the motors for all types of blowers. All motors in all types of blowers have 110% capacity for 30 mis, 3. The normal loading of motors in all the blowers when the blower is working with steam is likely to bs around 0%, 4, The overloading of motor in LR blowers is expected due to hitting of tubes etc. 5. Tho overload rolay which is current) is flowing will act cold), t at 105%, when about 300% cutront (starting about 25/30 secs. (Whot the relay is hot/ 6. Jamming r#lay protection is only for long retractable typo blowers. The jamming ‘olay shall be connected in Travorss Motor power line, Jamming relay will act instantaneously, 7. Tho current sotting of the jamming relay shall be 105% of travorso motor rated current 8. A timo dolay rolay (0-10 secs.) is provided in Jamming rolay protection elrcuit and is set at 2 secs. This is to avoid the nuisonce which may arise due to action Of Jamming ralay during the starting of traverse motor. The stetting time of traverse motor is 0.3 sec. The starting current of traverse motor is 3.0 Amps. 9, Jamming relay with its cirouitry will act when overloaded to 105% due to overlosd/ jamming while on forward operation and reverse the blower. Overload relay will act when overloaded to 105% whila on travers operation. ‘Tho blower stops oporating. However the motor is protected. 10.
