all about Solar System. So fasten your
seatbelt because we will identify the planets
in our solar system.

3. Discussion

3.1 (Explanation)

The first planet is Mercury

 The smallest planet in the solar system.
 The planet nearest to the Sun.
 Has no moon of its own
 Geologically dead
 Has an iron core
 Very little is known about Mercury
because it is so close/nearest to the sun.
 1 revolution: 88 earth days.
 Fastest Orbiting planet.

It is the smallest planet? What planet

Is that, Kleah?
Mercury, teacher.
Very good! How about how many moon
Did mercury have, Rico?
It has no moon, teacher.
Yes! Mercury class has no moon.
Please read again the characteristics of
Mercury class.

The second planet is Venus

 The fourth smallest planet in the solar system.
 The second planet from the Sun.
 And it is seen from Earth as a bright
morning or evening star.
 Venus can often times be seen easily on Earth
it appears to be a star, but its not because
it is reflecting light from the sun.
 It is the evening star because it can be seen
in the west at sunset and the morning
star because it can be seen in the east at sunrise.
 It is known as the Earth’s twin because it is similar
in size and composition; however,
it is very different in other aspects.
 It has a yellowish white color.
 The brightest planet in our solar system.
 243 earth days=revolution.
 Hottest planet.
 Earth’s closest neighboring planet.

What do you call the brightest planet in our solar system?

Venus, teacher.
Yes! You’re right! How many revolutions did
Venus have? Joy?
243 earth days, teacher.
What is the color of planet Venus? Andrew?
Yellowish white color, teacher.
Very good!
Let’s proceed to the third planet Earth …
 Blue planet
 365.26 days
 Tilted axis 23.5 Degree
 Located in the habitual zone
 The only planet with life
 The atmosphere and temperature range is suitable
For water to exist as a liquid
 Approximately 70% is covered with water.

Okay! What planet that support life? Kaye?

Earth, teacher.
You’re right! What is the color of earth?

 The third smallest planet in the solar system
 The fourth planet from the Sun.
 Mars has two small satellites and its surface
is reddish orange in color.
 The third smallest planet in the solar system
 he fourth planet from the Sun.
 Called the “Red Planet” because it is red
from the iron in the soil.
 The atmosphere is mostly carbon dioxide
(similar to Earth before life evolved).
 Has about 1% of the pressure Earth has
 Has clouds, but only very thin ones.

Okay class! It the fourth planet in our solar system?

Mars, teacher.
Very good! Why it is called a red planet? John?
Because it is red from
Iron in the soil.
Correct! It has a clouds? Yes or No?

Uranus, teacher.
How many known rings did Uranus have?
13, teacher.
Very good!

Okay! The next is ..

Neptune…
 The eighth planet from the Sun in our solar system.
 8th planet; 4th largest, but very similar to Uranus in size and mass.
 Orbit period 164 years. Rotates once every 16 hours.
 Existence predicted before it was discovered, after
astronomers noticed variations in Uranus’ expected orbit.
 Position was determined mathematically then
it was discovered there in the mid-1800’s.
 Has at least 8 moons.
 Ringed planet
 Colored blue due to methane.

Why it is colored blue?

Because of methane, teacher.
Did Neptune a ringed planet?
Yes, teacher.

Very good!
