For an introduction to the topic, see:


 Moore, J. A. (2002). Encyclopedia of the United Nations. This is an excellent introduction to the
United Nations. Not only does it provide essays on current topics which the organization is facing,
but a brief history of the organization itself as well as indexes of the many abbreviations used by the
UN.
