Attempt all questions. Be brief and to the point.

1. State superposition theorem. Find I0 in the circuit given in Fig. 1 using superposition principle. [4]

2. In Fig. 2(a), the voltage across the terminals X-Y and voltage across the current source after the removal
of 50Ω resistance are 75V and 25V , respectively (with upper side positive). When terminals X-Y are
short circuited, short-circuit current of 7.5A flows downward. Find the values of RA , RB , RC . When
load resistance 50Ω is connected between the terminals X-Y, find load current IL . Calculate the amount
of power absorbing or delivering by the current and voltage sources. [6]

4. In the circuit given in Fig. 3, calculate and draw the phasors I1 , I2 , VAB (voltage across current source).

5. For an R-L-C series circuit, it is given that bandwidth= 10π rad/s , resonance-frequency= 100π rad/s.
The circuit consumes 100W at the half-power frequencies when the source voltage is 10V . Find values
of R, L and C.

7. Calculate total power consumed by the 3-Phase load shown in Fig. 4(b). Phase sequence is A-B-C, line
voltage is 220V and load resistances R = 5Ω. Find the angle between line voltage and line current. If a
wattmeter is connected as shown in the figure, what will be the reading? [5]
