SURFACE PREPARATION
All timber species must be fully aged with a moisture content of less than 15%. The surface
must be dry, clean and free from contaminations. Natural oil or gum must be removed by solvent
cleaning.
To obtain optimum surface finish, sand the wood properly in the same direction of the wood
grain, utilize sanding paper no. [100]. Then and after surface leveling, remove the dust prior to
application of first coat [PB205] PU Sanding Sealer diluted 50-60% . After drying, [1.30 hrs.],
over coated with [PB210] PU Primer, this will be for very porous wood.
For normal wood, sand the surface with sanding paper no. [100], and after remove the dust, and
apply directly the [PB210] PU primer.

PRODUCT PREPARATION
CATALYST
by weight by volume
50% CP001 60%
Dilution
Utilize [TP291] PU Thinner depending on the application system used. In general 25 -30% thinner
is added to achieve an application viscosity of 16-18 seconds Fc4. This is suitable for spraying.
For Curtain coater 20% Thinner is added to achieve an application viscosity of 30 second Fc4. In
case of hot humidity climate add 5-10% [TP222] PU retardant thinner.
In winter we suggest utilization of [TP290] for fast drying.
In Hot climate we suggest also utilization of [TP292] PU thinner to avoid bubbles and blooming.
APPLICATION METHODS
Depends on the finishes required but in general an appropriate rate is 130 gr / sq. m. The
number of coats depends on the surface preparation the porosity of the substrate, and the finish
required.
Following Treatments
By spray gun: utilize nozzle 1.8 – 2 mm at 3-4 ATM/bar. For details of
spray equipment contact Ritver Technical Services Department.
By Curtain Coater: it is recommended to control the viscosity during application by adding PU
Thinner to balance the evaporation of solvents.
CLEANING
Cleaning
