    PRODUCTS Amakan – made out of palm oil tree , is a traditional, earth-friendly

    technique of hand weaving. This form of livelihood is abundant in


    Barangay Langkilaan and Manat of Trento which is abundant with palm oil
    Organic Farming – is the main source of livelihood here in as it is abundant with oil palm plantation.
    Trento, Agusan Del Sur with its wide area of Riceland and Cornland. It is
    GENERAL INFORMATION also abundant with tropical fruits like Durian, Rambutan, and Banana.
    Other than that, there is also a wide plantation of palm oil. Duck
    production is also among its source of livelihood.

    BRIEF HISTORY Ratan Basket Weaving - Basket weaving, basketry, or basket


    making is the process of weaving pliable materials into a basket or other
    similar form. People and artists who weave baskets are called basket
    makers and basket weavers.
    The first settlement in Trento is situated near the river and is called
    “Bahayan” by the famous Baganies”, warrior, Bagani Dago and Bagani Basketry is made from a variety of fibrous or pliable materials—anything
    Kawayan. A term Bahayan is referring to the lead sinker at the base of that will bend and form a shape. Examples include pine straw, stems,
    their fishing net “Pukot”. When this settlement is reached by the Jesuit animal hair, hide, grasses, thread, and fine wooden splints.
    Missionaries, Bahayan was christened “Trento” after the council of Trent
    in 1845.

     Trento was formerly a barrio of Bunawan called Bahayan (referring to


    a lead sinker at the base of a fishing net)
     On June 15, 1968, it became a separate municipality by virtue of
    Republic Act No. 5283.
     The town’s name was derived from the 1845 Council of Trent.
    Wood Carving – The making of sculpture in wood has
    been extremely practiced and this skill is being used to TOURIST DESTINATIONS
    make a living.
    DUMAGOOK SPRING WATER (Dumagook derived from the
    word dagook meaning a sound from flowing water coming
    out from the rock) is the source of water flowing down to
    the tribal natural swimming pool.

    MANAT FALLS is within Manat River. It has an 8.025 meters


    Kakanin or Native Delicacies - these are sweet drop and 22.4 meters wide. The basin is 30.9 meters wide
    munchies or sometimes desserts made from rice, sweet rice and 8.2 ft deep.
    or root vegetables that are slow cooked and usually made
    with coconut or coconut milk.
