COURSE OVERVIEW
The concrete Box Girder Analysis and Design course consists 5 parts. The Part 1 is the fundamental knowledge of the
box girder analysis. It is essential basic knowledge for the engineer who are new on the concrete box girder analysis
and design. The part 1 will be emphasize on the box girder section for short span, medium span up to 100m span.
The requirements of the precast segmental construction and cast in-situ construction as well as composite between
precast and cast in-situ. Some basic analysis will be touched at the end of the course too.
After completion of course, the candidate should know how to draw up the box girder section (constant section and
the haunch section). The requirements for the precast segmental box girder and in-situ box girder before analysis
and design.

SPEAKER PROFILE
Ir. Teh Tzyy Wooi, PEng. CEng. obtained his BEng in Civil & Structural Engineering from UKM and obtained his Msc in
Bridge Engineering (with Distinction) from University of Surrey. He is Fellow of IEM and corporate member of
Institution of Civil Engineers and Institution of Structural Engineers, UK. He has presented few talks in IEM and other
institutions. Engineer Teh has done various type of box girder bridge design for highways and rail projects locally and
abroad. He has involved the construction engineering design for the box girder bridges for contractors. The most
recent project Membina Jejambat menyambungkan Jalan Dewan Bahasa – Jalan Hang Tuah which he is being awarded
“Young Engineer Award 2009”. He has involved projects in oversea such as Hong Kong, Indonesia, Nigeria and Brunei
