God Alone

God Alone
By Lahry Sibley
1 Cor 8:2 If anyone imagines that he has come to know and understand much [of divine things,
without love], he does not yet perceive and recognize and understand as strongly and clearly, nor has
he become as intimately acquainted with anything as he ought or as is necessary.
Our relationship with God is not an intimate acquaintance with and memorization of His Holy Word. Our
relationship with Him is intimately personal with God Himself, with nothing hidden. If we do not know
God this way, we do not yet know Him as He desires.
It is much like the intimacy of husband and wife. They are comfortable to stand naked before one
another without embarrassment, nothing is hidden, nor should it be, for the two are one.
Our families know us, that is, our behavior much better than others do, because they are with us when
we are really “ourselves”. Pretense cannot be hidden when we are intimate. Sooner or later, a person
will revert back to being who they are. We do this at home all the time. If we find a bride or husband,
then we are apt to be pretentious for a time, but then the “real us” begins to leak out.
If we are truly the Lord’s, then even our most intimate relationships with man will exhibit Christ alone.
Even our very spouses will see Him in us. It cannot be pretentious, it cannot be hidden.
If we are truly the Lord’s, being naked, nothing hidden, before Him is never an embarrassment. He is
delighted to receive us, because our relationship with Him is in purity and truth and TOTAL FIDELITY.
God can only accept total fidelity because that is the work of the Cross. The Cross slays our infidelities
and all other loves, so that we can live for God and God alone. It is personal, it is intimate, it is satisfying
like nothing else known to man. Can we worship Him today, beloved? He is God, and God alone. Oh let
His Spirit in to flood your soul. If He must get a “cat of nine tails” and drive out the other loves, so be it.
Let Him in. For other loves have no place in our hearts. Receive Him. Receive His love……..blessings of
His manifest presence deep inside. Worship Him….right now….where you are. Stop! Stop what you are
doing. Close out all windows except that which is open to heaven. Worship Him. Turn off that music,
close that book, remove those ear phones……close your eyes, and drink in His presence….God…..and
God alone.
3 But if one loves God truly [[a]with affectionate reverence, prompt obedience, and grateful
recognition of His blessing], he is known by God [[b]recognized as worthy of His intimacy and love,
and he is owned by Him].
LISTEN!!!! Read that IN THE SPIRIT!!! Worship and read it......it is speaking to YOU!!!! Right this very
minute. Read it slowly, with passion and love. Do you love Him that way? Do you keep His
commandments? (John 14:15) If you love Him you do......do you love Him???? Would He agree
with your answer????? Worship Him.
6 Yet for us there is [only] one God, the Father, Who is the Source of all things and for Whom we [have
life], and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through and by Whom are all things and through and by Whom we
[ourselves exist].
One God, one love, one mind, one soul, one life. It is so simple, yet so many miss it in a clutter
and commotion of personal expression of selfishness and self admiration. It is God alone, or it is
nothing at all! Believe it......or not! - Lahry
