Changes with KROSS2 System Version 1.1.0


(Please note: this new operating system is NOT compatible with the original
KROSS)

New features

KROSS system version 1.1.0 includes a number of new features, as listed below.
Please refer to the updated PDF manuals for more information.

KROSS2 Editor and Plug-In Editor


Version 1.1 adds support for the KROSS2 Editor and Plug-In Editor, which let you
edit and organize sounds from your macOS or Windows computer.

Load .KSC, .KMP and .KSF sample files


Sample data created by sampling-capable models such as the KRONOS, OASYS,
M3, and TRITON can be loaded (subject to the amount of available user sample
memory) and played.

Pad Sampler – Export to KSC and WAV


A sample that you recorded with the pad sampler can be exported as a .KSC file or
as a sample file in WAVE format. A .KSC file can be loaded into a sampling-
capable model such as the KRONOS, OASYS, M3, or TRITON series, and played.
WAV format sample files can be used in a computer application.

REALTIME CONTROLS – VOCODER improvements


Audio In On/Off, Gain Controls and Mode controls have been added to improve
usability.

If you’re using an older version, you can download the latest software free of
charge from the Korg website (http://www.korg.com). Please follow the included
instructions for installation into your KROSS2.

Other improvements and bug fixes

In addition to the new features, KROSS2 system version 1.1.0 includes the
following functional improvements and bug fixes.

General

Improvements

Various small improvements have been made to the sound data.

Various indicators and messages have been added during automatic SD card
loading at start-up.

Bug fixes

Depending on the operation order, the STEP SEQ button might have not been
turned on. This has now been fixed.

When using the USB-Audio function, USB cable removal and insertion might have
caused an operational error. This has now been fixed.

In the Quick Layer/Split dialog box might occasionally have functioned incorrectly
(e.g. stuck notes might have occurred). This has now been fixed.

MIDI

Improvements

The accuracy of the MIDI timing clock transmission has been improved.

Bug fixes

When the “All Sound Off” MIDI channel message was received, attempting to
trigger sounds using Pad Sampler did not work. This has now been fixed.

Realtime Controls

Bug fixes

When operating the Realtime Controls, incorrect MIDI messages may have been
transmitted. This has now been fixed.
Favorite

Bug fixes

Favorite Bank Select operation occasionally functioned incorrectly. This has now
been fixed.

Sampler

Improvements

The commands in the function list such as “Convert Current Bank to Program”
can be now used for the demo samples.

Bug fixes

When recording a sample, if “Auto Rec Start” parameter is set to Note-On, the
start of the sample might be recorded incorrectly. This has now been fixed.

Inserting an SD card during sample recording may have caused an operational


error. This has now been fixed.

Exchanging an SD card during “Load Session” operation may have caused an


operational error. This has now been fixed.

In Combination and Sequencer modes, a sound may have kept playing while
playing the Pad samples on the keyboard when editing the Pad Sampler On/Off
parameter. This has now been fixed.

When importing a WAV format sample file by the “Import WAV” function, glitches
may have been introduced into the imported sample. This has now been fixed.

The “Convert Current Bank to Program” function may have functioned incorrectly.
This has now been fixed.

Audio Recorder
Bug fixes
When importing a WAV format sample file using the “Import WAV” function, the
“Abort” operation may have not functioned depending on a type of WAV file. This
has now been fixed.

Sequencer mode

Improvements

The Sequencer Start and Stop operations can now be used in the SAMPLER
SETUP.

Bug fixes

When changing the “Tempo Mode” parameter during song playback, the “Tempo”
parameter may not have been selected. This has now been fixed.

“KEY ZONE” and “VEL ZONE” parameters could be reset to their default values
when changing Mode. This has now been fixed.

Media mode

Improvements

A new “Append” option in the Load .KEP has been added.

The loading speed of .KEP files has been improved.

Bug fixes

When using a SD card containing over 200 WAV files, an operational error might
have occurred. This has now been fixed.

In addition to these, various other minor improvements and bug fixes are also
included in this update.
