Construct a full-blown lesson plan using the “Reflection over the falls”. Make sure that GOLD will be a
part of the lesson plan.

I. Objective
1. Build vocabulary through figurative language.
2. Identify adjectives used in the selection.
3. To improve communication and reading skills.
II. Subject Matter
1. Reflection over the Falls by Kristine F. Badua
III. Procedure

A. Pre-Reading
1. Motivation (GLR)
a.Before reading, present 5-10 important or interesting words from the book or
selection. Introduce them on the board, one by one.
b.After presenting each word, pose question such as: What do you know? What
do you think this story will be all about? What do you expect to read about if
these words are in the story?
2. Vocabulary Building (Figurative Language)
● Like sailing at largest and deepest see in stormy weather
● Like climbing a rose with many thorns
● Like playing with mysteries of life
● Like a testing ground if you will stay in or give up
● Like a little ant looking for my food
● Like a newly baptized Christian
B. During Reading – Reading Aloud
a. The Teacher read the first part of the story aloud and ask another student to
continue reading and ask another one again and so fort.
C. Post Reading
1. Comprehension Question
● What is the story all about?
● Can you describe the road they’ve been through during their trip?
● Can you describe the place when they got there?
● What is the name of the falls?
● What is the lesson that the speaker learn in going to the falls?
2. Enrichment Activity
● Ask the student to draw a waterfalls and a rocky road.
3. Language Focus: Adjectives
a. Focus on the lines in the story right down the words that describe person,
things, place, animals etc. What is being described by the following?
