1. How does Science and Technology affect contemporary life and vice versa?

The development of science and technology produced countless discoveries and

inventions which give us positive and negative effects. Science and technology makes our lives
simpler. Works can be done easier through high- tech machines and equipment. It gives less
work for humans and our job can be done faster. Science and technology let every people live in
an easy and modern life. It opens the door and allows people to enter into a new world which is
fully developed and well civilized. Science and technology is not giving us only the positive side
but it also has its disadvantages that truly affect human life. If we look around the surroundings,
it is so crowded, polluted and damaged which is caused mainly by the existence of invented
technologies throughout the world. Its existence totally affects our mother earth and our natural
environment is replaced by new big buildings and factories that are managed by technology-
based owners. The traditional style of living is deleted and replaced by modern style of living
that destructs our culture and society. If we manipulated technology, then technology also
manipulated us. World is being ran by high- tech machines and innovated equipment that people
think it would give us good effects but rather it generally changed our whole life that we now
forget the simple life that our ancestors left us. Science and technology allows us to finish works
without any efforts. It is a bad influence to us.

2. How do we protect our human rights in the face of technological advancements and
ethical dilemmas?

Technology affects everything we do in our profession and in all spheres of life. As

technology changes, our methods of work and also other spheres of life absorb a change. Hence,
technological advancement is at the heart of educational, political, economic, social, and all
forms of advancements. Technology is simply a neutral thing. Although it does affect everything
we do, as such it is not inherently against human rights. Moreover, technology can be used for
certain ends, or desired goals. If we wish to protect human rights, we can innovate means using
existing technology. We can protect our human rights in the face of technological advancements
and ethical dilemmas by being a responsible citizen. If we are a responsible citizen we are
disciplined enough in using different social media platforms. When it comes to ethical dilemma
we should be a child of God to follow things that is according to the will of God. Avoid things
and people that will bring you to evil doings.

3. Read the entirety of Joy’s article. Why doesn’t the future need us?

“ “The experiences of the atomic scientists clearly show the need to take personal
responsibility, the danger that things will move too fast, and the way in which a process can
take on a life of its own. We can, as they did, create insurmountable problems in almost no
time flat. We must do more thinking up front if we are not to be similarly surprised and
shocked by the consequences of our inventions.”

Joy is concern about increasing computer power. His worry is that computers will eventually
become more intelligent than we are, leading to such dystopian scenarios as robot rebellion.
Bill Joy is concerned that eventually those humans with millions of dollars will be the only
ones that have the power to control the future Robots they are trying to build for the future
and that these people could also decide to take life into their own hands and control how
humans continue to populate and reproduce. oy mentioned Hans Moravec's book ''Robot:
Mere Machine to Transcendent Mind'' where he believed there will be a shift in the future
where robots will take over normal human activities but with time humans will become okay
with living that way but robots will become smarter and then some humans will choose to
become a crossbreed between human and robot so they'll live longer.
