Ans- 𝑧 = 𝑎𝑦 + 𝑏(𝑥 2 − 𝑎)

Q.17 Use Cauchy’s method of characteristics to solve the following first order PDE. 𝑢𝑥 + 𝑢𝑦 = 𝑠𝑖𝑛ℎ𝑥 + 𝑠𝑖𝑛ℎ𝑦. 𝑢(0, 𝑦) = 1 + 𝑐𝑜𝑠ℎ𝑦
