    Executive Order No. 01


    Series of 2020

    “AN ORDER REORGANIZING THE BARANGAY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL


    (BDC) AND ITS FUNCTIONS”

    WHEREAS, Section 106 of the Local Government Code of 1991 provides that each local
    government unit shall have a comprehensive multi-sectoral development councils and
    approved by its sanggunian;

    WHEREAS, in order for this barangay to comply with this mandate, there is a need for the
    reactivation and reorganization of the Barangay Development Council to assist the
    Sangguniang Barangay in seeing the direction of the economic and social development as
    well as coordinating development efforts within the barangay;

    NOW THEREFORE, I, ELIEZER H. ANUTA, Punong Barangay of Sto. Niño, City of


    Pagadian , Province of Zamboanga del Sur, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law,
    for hereby order the creation of the Barangay Development Council, with the following
    provisions:

    Section 1. COMPOSITION

    SECTION 2. DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE BDC

    1) Mobilize people’s participation in local development function efforts;


    2) Prepare Barangay Development Plans based on local requirements;
    3) Monitor and evaluate the implementation of national or local programs and projects; and
    4) Perform such other functions as may be provided by law or competent authority.

    Section 3. Executive Committee and Functions.

    a) The following shall compose the Executive Committee:


    Chairperson: Hon. ELIEZER H. ANUTA
    Punong Barangay
    Members: Hon. ARLIEN S. ARMAMENTO
    Sangguniang Barangay Member
    Ms. MA. MERLY DAQUIO
    CSO Representative Purok Federated
    President
    b) The Executive Committee shall perform the following functions:
    1. Ensure that the decisions of the council are faithfully carried out and implemented;
    2. Act on matters requiring immediate attention or action by the council;
    3. Formulate policies, plans and programs based on the general principles laid down by
    4. the council; and
    5. Act on other matters that they be authorized by the council.
    Section III. Secretariat. The secretariat of the Barangay Development Council shall be headed
    by the Barangay Secretary who shall be assisted by the City Planning and Development
    Coordinator concerned.
    Section IV. EFFECTIVITY.
    This Executive Order shall take effect immediately upon its approval.

    SO ORDERED.
