Idolatry
The commandments we have been given in regard to idolatry is:
"You shall not make for yourself a carved image - any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or
that is in earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor
serve them. For I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to
those who love Me and keep My commandments." Exodus 20:4-6
The command is to not bow down nor serve them. Two different aspects of idolatry.

After the fall of Adam, mankind was provided with a way back to relationship with Almighty God
through a sacrificial atonement.
Many ancient writings reveal that the people clearly understood the principles of the Ten
Commandments and were very conscious of their rebellious condition and knew the way that had been
provided for their forgiveness would be in a Messiah figure who would come and make atonement for
them.
To be partakers of this promise they would offer a sacrificial animal as a token of their faith in the
promised Redeemer. The sacrificial animal was a symbol of the atonement to be made for them and it
was understood that the wrath of God which was due them would fall on the sacrificial victim and thus
spare the guilty worshiper. By their participation in the flesh of the sacrificial meal which represented
His Word, they received, by faith, the benefits of the promised atonement.
In the earliest Egyptian texts there are prophecies of the promised Messiah whose life was to end as a
sacrifice to bring about the regeneration of mankind. It was only later that this deteriorated into sun
worship and veneration of the many other deities associated in the cycle of their livelihood.
The prophesied Messiah, in the earliest times, was associated with the bringing of spiritual light which
in time was transferred to the physical light manifested through the light-bringer - the physical sun.
From the desire for physical images, it was a simple matter to begin worshiping the sun. At dawn
services, all throughout the world, the people began looking toward the east, awaiting the great moment
when the first brilliant rays of the sun would shine above the horizon. They began to offer sacrifices to
the sun and the other heavenly bodies and these came to be regarded as gods.
It was Nimrod who began this as a defined and overt rebellion against God after the flood, defining
himself as a mighty one to be worshiped, and from there it spread throughout the world with the
dispersion of the people after the judgment upon Babel and deteriorated into the worship of the creation
itself.
Along with the worship of the sun the symbol of the snake was promoted as the one who had
'enlightened' mankind - i.e. the giver of 'light'. Through the perversion of the sacrificial offering, all
forms of licentious revelry became associated with idol worship involving immorality, sexual
perversions, witchcraft, astrology and a sadistic love of cruelty.
Going back to it's source at Babel, the Bible identifies all counterfeit worship as Babylon and instruct
His people to come out of it.
Revelation 18:4, "Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not
receive any of her plagues."
Idolatry is the natural consequences of covenant unfaithfulness and a withdrawal from close
relationship with Yahweh God. In withdrawing from fellowship with Him we fill the vacuum with
other things. To remain in fellowship with God requires constant diligence to remove the things which
would separate us from Him so that we walk in the light as He is in the Light.
• At Sinai the children of Israel withdrew from personal exposure to Almighty God and in the
next instance they were practicing idolatry (Exodus 32). They used the symbol of the Apis bull
with which they were familiar in Egypt to represent Yahweh God. They had asked Moses to
stand in their place before Yahweh and in his absence they wanted something tangible to
represent the invisible God.
Through this, they broke the covenant that they had made and lost their inheritance as a kingdom of
priests. This covenant was not renewed until Messiah came to fulfill the promise.
If is had not been for Moses' intercession they would have been blotted out of the Book of Life
(Ex.32:30-34). A temporary substitute was made for them in the form of the Levitical priesthood.

Notice the injunction that was given to them afterward that they were to break down the altars of the
people in Canaan and warned against participating in their worship or getting otherwise involved in
their idolatry (Exodus 34:10-28).
The Israelites were also warned not to adopt pagan religious practices in their worship of Him as He
viewed that as an abomination. "You shall not worship Yahweh your God in that way" (Deuteronomy
12:29–32; 17:9–13).
Repetitively during their history they began mimicking the ways in which the nations around them
worshiped their gods which led them to eventually worship those same gods. He sent prophets to them
again and a gain to warn them about their idolatry.
• Elijah contended with the nation when they had gone fully into Baal worship. He challenged
them on Mt. Carmel, one man against the multitude who felt safe in the number of followers
doing the same thing. "And Elijah came to all the people and said, 'How long will you falter
between two opinions? If Yahweh is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him" (1 Kings 18:21)
God showed that day what a abomination the false religion of sun worship was to him.
• Jeremiah said to them, "Do not learn the way of the nations. Do not be dismayed at the signs of
heaven, for the nations are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are futile; for one
cuts a tree from the forest , they decorate it with silver and gold; (like /Christmas trees)
They fasten it with nails and hammer it so that it will not topple." (Jeremiah 10:2-4)
• Hosea describes how the House of Jehu (the northern 10 tribes) were destroyed for establishing
a form of worship contrary to the pattern which Yahweh God had set out that led to them
following the ways of Baal (sun worship) and Ishtar/Ashtaroth (Easter). This sin was the Sin of
Jeroboam for which Yahweh brought Assyria against the ten northern tribes, which led to their
dispersion in 722 BCE.
• Ezekiel rebuked the people for practicing forms of sun-worship (Ezekiel 8:5-18), for which
reason the Shekinah eventually glory departed from the temple (Ez.10).
In v.14 we have the women "weeping for Tammuz". This was the observance of a mourning
period for the death of Tammuz, the god of vegetation (Semitic equivalent of the Greek Adonis)
who was the consort of Ishtar the goddess of fertility. It is practiced today in the 40 days of Lent
before /Easter which is the celebration of the fertility goddess Ishtar (eggs and bunnies)

In v.16 the priests are "worshiping the sun" - Baal worship was the worship of the sun, called
Mithra in Persia. Constantine brought Mithraism into the church by establishing /Sunday (Sun-
day) as the day of worship.

Through Hellenistic influence and the decrees of Constantine, the Church has been infiltrated with
pagan practices that originate in idolatry. These unholy days have been substituted for the holy days
which have been decreed by Almighty God as appointment times with Him.
These forms of worship are contrary to that which is ordained in scripture and are an abomination to
Yahweh God as He has clearly shown. They originate in Babylon, the Great Harlot. We must make sure
that we have nothing to do with anything that is associated with the counterfeit system of worship. Not
only are we robbed of covenant blessings by so doing, but we will become a partaker of His judgment
of the Great Harlot if we are part of her by identifying with her practices.
We are told to come out of her and to be separate and not to have any part in the unfruitful works of
darkness - 2 Corinthians 6:14 - 7:1; Revelation 18:4.

We are to keep ourselves from all forms of idolatry. Only a very simple idolater would have supposed
that the idol he bowed before was actually the god he was worshiping. Instead the idol was a physical
representation of the spiritual power of that god. The pagan deity’s power and essence were thought to
be captured within the idolatrous image. The idea was that possessing the representation of a god(dess)
would bring him or her to the aid of the worshiper. We are brought under the power of whatever we
serve.

Idolatry has many faces. In our society it is often subtle rather than a literal bowing down before a
physical form of something.
Idolatry may be summed up as worshiping what is made with human hands and ascribing to these
objects the glory or importance that belongs to the Creator. All of us may have worshiped a new car,
boat, house, or possibly deified some sports, fashion, political or preacher personality.
Anything that becomes the focus of our time, affections, and money for the pleasure and satisfaction it
gives us, has a place in our hearts that is becoming an idol.
Idolatry is the delight of the evil one, and his most effective tool and is used to effectively divert our
eyes from the Creator to His creation - the physical, material world.

"Little children, keep yourselves from idols." 1 John 5:21

Easter and Passover Week

The present festivals and “holy days” came from Rome and the “protestant” churches did not
investigate these traditions when they came out from the Catholic Church after the Reformation.
Easter Sunday is one of the many “holy days” of obligation instituted by the Roman Church. They had
already been sufficiently traditionalized and Rome’s teachings were already considered valid and did
not come under question. Tradition plays a tremendous part in Christian theology and has influenced
our thinking and our practices. Passover was celebrated by the Jews and would have been a more
suitable time to celebrate the resurrection, but Rome wanted to break all ties with anything “Jewish”, or
its Jewish “roots”. So, they made their festivals in alignment with the pagan Romans, instead of with
the days established by God.
The question we all ought to ask ourselves is whether tradition or truth is the most important issue in
our faith. And, what should our faith be based upon? Seeing we shall be judged by the Word of God,
that is the only valid basis for our lifestyle.

The Change From Passover

From the second century, Rome had become absorbed with the sun cults and the Friday crucifixion /
Sunday resurrection error had commenced to be taught. This accorded with the eastern mystery cults
and the cult of Dumuzi which long preceded Christianity. Dumuzi or Tammuz (the son of Semiramis)
was a spring deity who died and was resurrected. This was a Friday death / Sunday resurrection. Thus it
entered Christianity in the Quarto-deciman controversy. The pagan festival was called Easter and the
Judeo-Christian festival was the Passover. This festival was rotational, based on the lunar calendar. The
pagan Easter festival was solar/lunar based around the day of the sun but calculated from the beginning
of the lunar month. The methods of calculating Easter, because of this fact, often varied from the
Passover, even in the month.
The method of the calculation seems to deliberately fall incorrectly. With the introduction of this error
of Easter, Christianity then had to find a year in which the Passover was on a Friday. That event
occurred in 33 CE, which was much too late to accord with the Gospel accounts. 30 CE was the
absolute earliest that it could have been as there are three Passovers mentioned by John. The sequence
allows for no more and no less. The fourth Passover error, to push the calculation to 31 CE, has 14
Nisan on Sunday 25 March.
A Passover in 33 CE suited Judaism at that time. Firstly, it could then accommodate Christian
requirements for a Wave Sheaf Offering on a Sunday from a Friday crucifixion. This had two effects. It
seemed to agree with Rome – thus preventing persecution and yet still destroyed absolutely the genuine
Christian arguments that Messiah was the Messiah. It made it easy for rabbinical authority to
demonstrate that Messiah was not the Messiah and thus prevent, for two thousand years, the conversion
of Judaism. Judaism was able to show, to its own people, categorically that Messiah could not have
been three days and three nights in the tomb from a Friday crucifixion and Sunday resurrection. It is
also a simple and well understood fact that unless he was three days and nights in the tomb he was not
legally dead by Judaic law. Moreover, by mistranslating the text, given the poor literacy of the general
community in ancient Hebrew, they were able to continue the ruse more or less continually. From the
failure of the Quarto-decimans they were more or less safe from both persecution and proselytism.
Thus the 6 Sivan Pentecost suits both Judaism and modern Christianity for different reasons. It is
completely incorrect and impugns the Sign of Jonah. No Christian can accept the 6 Sivan Pentecost and
not deny the Messiah. It is thus a very clever ruse. Thus, Judaism has been defying God for two
thousand years. Messiah had to be the Wave Sheaf Offering. The Wave Sheaf Offering had to have
occurred on Sunday in 30 CE or Israel has no acceptance and no redemption.
It was for this reason that Mary Magdalene could not attempt to hold Messiah at the tomb (Jn. 20:15-
17). He was in the process, as he said, of ascending to God as the firstfruits. When that was
accomplished, he could then return and allow humans, such as Thomas, to touch him. The ascension
prior to Pentecost was the second and final ascent. It was not a harvest. Messiah fulfilled that as the
Wave Sheaf as he also fulfilled all sacrifice as the Passover Lamb. In this false system, Pentecost was
then counted from the first holy day of Unleavened Bread instead of from the day after the Sabbath
within the passover week.

Calculating the Death and Resurrection of Messiah

The fact is that the symbolism of the Wave-sheaf is not understood by mainstream Christianity. They
have introduced the Easter or Ishtar symbolism of the Sunday resurrection of the spring fertility cult.
Easter, the Anglo-Saxon form of Ishtar, is a pagan system of worship that penetrated Christianity in the
second century. The symbolism stems from the death of Tammuz or Dumuzi on Friday and his
resurrection on Sunday. This mirrors the grain and new shoot symbolism of the corn. The Easter bun is
derived from the baking of cakes to the Queen of Heaven at the Ishtar festival because of her revival of
Tammuz (Dumuzi is the Assyro-Babylonian equivalent). It is condemned by the Bible (Jer. 7:18; 44:19;
SHD 3561 kavvan sacrificial wafers or cakes). The wafers are preserved in the symbolism of the
Eucharist and the Monstrance. The weeping for Tammuz (Ezek. 8:14) refers to the mourning process of
the death/resurrection symbolism of Easter.
The tradition that Jesus (Yeshua) died on a Friday and rose on a Sunday is not consistent with scripture.
Within the gospels is the story of the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Messiah. The Catholic
church interprets the Gospels, especially the narratives of the women visiting Jesus/Yeshua’s tomb after
His resurrection to mean that He rose on a Sunday. Mark 15:42 it is taken to mean that Yeshua died on
a Friday: "And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the
sabbath, " In Mark 15:43 - 46 Joseph of Arimathaea requests the body of Jesus/Yeshua and places Him
in his own tomb.

A. Three Days and Three Nights

Yeshua’s (Jesus) own words were that He would be in the tomb for three days and three nights and so
there is a discrepancy in the teaching that He was buried on a Friday and rose on a Sunday. (Matthew
11:1-15; 38-40)
Yeshua’s sign to them was not only His resurrection, but that He would be in the grave for three days
and three nights. His words must, of necessity of prophecy, ring totally true, or He would be seen as a
false prophet. Some try the argument that these were not literal 24 hour days, but overlook the fact that
Yeshua said “three days and three nights” and He acknowledged that a day had twelve hours in it. See
Yeshua's own reckoning - John 11:9 According to the Jews, a complete day (day and night) lasted from
sunset to sunset no matter the hour and minutes, whereas we now fix our Gregorian calendar based on a
day as being from midnight to midnight, which, by the way, is Roman reckoning. During the time of
Messiah, the Jews divided the night portions into four “watches”, of three hours each. So, it would be
something like this: First Watch 6 to 9 PM; Second Watch9 to 12AM; Third Watch 12 to 3 AM; Fourth
Watch 3 to 6AM
The daylight portions were divided like this:
• Third Hour 8 to 9 AM;
• Sixth Hour 11AM to 12PM;
• Ninth Hour 2 to 3 PM
• Twelfth Hour 5 to 6PM
Matthew 27:45-50 tells us that Yeshua died at the ninth hour, or between 2 and 3 PM and we learn from
Luke and John that He was placed in the tomb just before to sunset that same day. (Luke 23:54; John
19:42). So, if He died and was buried on a Friday afternoon, He could not have risen on a Sunday,
according to His own words of “three days and three nights”.

B. The Resurrection
Some would argue that the scriptures themselves tell us that Yeshua rose on the first day of the week,
what we know as Sunday. Let’s examine what those verses say: Matthew 28:1 "In the end of the
sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other
Mary to see the sepulchre.
Mark 16:1 "And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and
Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him." Mark 16:2 "And very early in
the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
Luke 24:1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre,
bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
John 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the
sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
In every account except Matthew’s, we find that the stone was already rolled away when the women
came to the grave. Matthew 28:2-4 is not used in this example because some would have it that it is one
and the same account, and having all the events as having happened at once, as in Mark, Luke and
John. However, Matthew seems to give a sketchy account of the events, possibly being parenthetical,
and if we can adopt this view, we get a better understanding of the scenes that took place. Mark, Luke
and John give a more thorough account. Anyhow, even Matthew says that these events took place “in
the end of the sabbath (sundown on our Saturday) as it began to dawn toward the first day of the
week.” Yeshua had already risen, prior to the first day of the week, which means He must have risen at
the end of the Sabbath, perhaps right at the end of it, which would be Saturday night.
Luke and John’s version says that the women came to the tomb “very early in the morning” and “when
it was yet dark”. They do not mention a specific time. Mark though, says that the women “came unto
the sepulchre at the rising of the sun”. This would seem to contradict Matthew’s account in 28:1. But, if
Matthew was saying that they came after the end of the sabbath, then we have no contradiction. We
will agree that the women came to the tomb at sunrise on the first day of the week, for the sake of
argument.
Even if the women came to the tomb at sunrise on our Sunday, we still see that Yeshua had already
risen. The scriptures do not state that he arose on the first day of the week. They only say that the
women came to the tomb, and that was either the close of the sabbath or sunrise on the first day of the
week.
Mark 16:9 causes a problem for some, but comma placement clears this up. Remember, there is no
punctuation in the Greek and the English use of it has caused many seemingly contradictions. In any
case, let’s read it without any punctuation, or move it to the word “early” or after “risen”: Now when
Yeshua was risen early the first day of the week he appeared first to Mary Magdalene out of whom he
had cast seven devils. Or, Now when Yeshua was risen(,) early(,) the first day of the week he appeared
first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. Mark 16:9
Were our translators influenced by tradition, assuming that Yeshua rose on a Sunday. Possibly. In the
1611 edition, the comma was placed after the word, “early” as well as “week”, but newer translations
didn’t. Word placement suggests that the commas be placed after “week”, but this is not sufficient
proof that it is correct. The original Greek has no punctuation.
Verses 9 through 20 are not found in the earlier, more reliable manuscripts. Even the Roman Catholic
St. Joseph’s Edition of The New American Bible has this footnote about Mark 16: 9-20: “Early
citations of it by the Fathers indicate that it was composed in the first century, although vocabulary and
style argue strongly that it was written by someone other than Mark.
This quote suggests that a Sunday resurrection tradition was prevalent in the first or second century.
Such a tradition could not have come out of the women’s testimony of seeing Yeshua “early on the first
day of the week”. The scriptures do no give conclusive evidence that Yeshua rose on Sunday, but seems
to indicate otherwise. The fact that Yeshua was seen on the first day of the week should show that the
only logical day He could haven risen before sundown was the Sabbath. Counting backwards three
days and three nights from just before sundown on sabbath takes us to Wednesday.

C. The Burial
What about the fact that scripture tells us that He was buried because the sabbath was about to begin in
a few hours? How could He have been buried before the sabbath, rise at the end of the sabbath, and still
been three days and three nights in the grave?
John 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon
the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs
might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Now read especially verse 14: And it was the
preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: John 19:14
The day of preparation was Passover, the day prior to the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread,
actually, the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread itself (Mat 26:17). Now the first day of the feast
of unleavened bread the disciples came to Yeshua, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare
for thee to eat the passover?). It was the day the Passover meal was eaten and was then, the day of
preparation for the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
John called the approaching “sabbath” a “high day”. The first and seventh days of the Feast of
Unleavened Bread are “high sabbaths”, two of seven yearly high sabbaths. Ask any Jew. High Sabbaths
are special days or rest honoring certain Jewish feasts, and can fall on any “day” of the week, as they
are given a month and a date to be held on.
There is another seemingly contradiction. John states that Yeshua died while the Passover lamb was
being slain and the Synoptic gospels have Him eating the Passover meal with the disciples. This can be
cleared up also. Some English versions of Matthew 26:7 say that Yeshua ate the Passover on the “first
day of the feast of unleavened bread.”, while John says that the Last Supper was eaten “just before the
Passover Feast.” There are two reasons for this mis-reading of the text.
First, the term ”first day of unleavened bread,” indicating the time the disciples asked Yeshua where
they should prepare the Passover meal, contrasts with the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, a
high sabbath and the day after Passover Day.
Secondly, we have to remember, or understand, that the Jewish day started at sundown, while ours
starts at midnight or sunrise. So we need to examine the scriptures where “the first day of the feast of
unleavened bread” is mentioned. They only really say, “the first of unleavened bread,” or “the first day
of unleavened bread,” or “the day of unleavened bread.” (See Matthew 26:17; Mark 14:12; Luke 22:7
and John 13:1, 2.
Was the last supper eaten before the feast of the Passover as John says, or was it held on the first day of
the Feast of Unleavened Bread as some believe? For one, the Greek does not say “the first day of the
feast of unleavened bread”. And the 14th of Nissan is Passover Day while the 15th of Nissan is the first
day of unleavened bread. All the gospels tell us that Yeshua died on the 14th, which was Passover Day.
Therefore, the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread is the Sabbath that John speaks of in 19:31,
and Mark speaks of two sabbaths in the same week that Yeshua died and rose, the Passover sabbath and
the regular weekly sabbath, because it mentions that “very early in the morning the first day of the
week they came...” Mark had to be referring to two different sabbaths because he separated “when the
sabbath was past” from “very early in the morning the first day of the week”. This is the only thing that
makes sense.
Yeshua ate the Passover after sundown ending the 13th of Nissan and the beginning of the 14th. In the
middle of the night on the 14th, He went with the disciples to Gethsemane where they captured Him.
He was delivered in the early daylight on the 14th and given over to be crucified later that same day.
He died and was buried before sundown on the day of preparation for the Feast of Unleavened Bread,
or our Wednesday. Everyone rested on the “high” sabbath, which was the first day of the Feast of
Unleavened Bread , or our Thursday. The women brought spices and oil the day after the high sabbath,
on our Friday.
Everyone rested on the weekly sabbath, or Saturday. Exactly three days and three nights after His
burial, Yeshua rose before sundown on the weekly Sabbath, or Saturday evening. The women then
went to His tomb sometime between sundown on sabbath and sunrise on Sunday, the first day of the
week. Now, there is no way Yeshua could have died on “Good Friday” and risen on “Easter Sunday”.
Greek texts as well as the Aramaic Peshitta and Old Syriac texts do not say that He was raised on the
first day of the week, literally they all say it was on one of the Sabbaths.
There are many reasons why believers cling to the pagan traditions that have found their way into the
Body of Messiah. Convenience is one of them. Our traditions are in conflict with the Word of God, and
His laws, it is because of traditions and convenience that we refuse to obey Him. They are the reasons
that the Western church is as weak and ineffective as it is.
Leaders perpetuate traditions rather than obedience to God’s laws. "And he said unto them, Full well ye
reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition." (Mark 7:9)
Religious tradition can play an important part in our faith, as long as it does not contradict God’s Word.

The Origin Of Easter

Easter is an event that is honored by nearly all of contemporary Christianity as the resurrection of
Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah. This tradition is so well established that it is believed to have begun with
the resurrection of our Saviour and instituted by His apostles in the first century in commemoration of
that event.
However, the celebration of Easter has a long history going back to the time after the Flood. Ham, the
son of Noah had a son named Cush who married a woman named Semiramis. Cush and Semiramis then
had a son and named him "Nimrod." After the death of his father, Nimrod married his own mother and
became a powerful King.
The Bible tells of this man, Nimrod, in Genesis 10:8-10. Nimrod became a god-man to the people and
Semiramis, his wife and mother, became the powerful Queen of ancient Babylon. They developed what
became the mystery religion of Babylon.

The Mystery Religion

Nimrod was killed because of his violence and iniquity against the true and living God and his body
was cut in pieces and sent to various parts of his kingdom. His wife/mother told the people of Babylon
that Nimrod had ascended to the sun and was now to be called "Baal", the sun god. Semiramis was
creating a mystery religion, and with the help of Satan, she set herself up as a goddess. Semiramis
claimed that she was immaculately conceived. She taught that the moon was a goddess that went
through a 28 day cycle and ovulated when full and that she had come down from the moon in a giant
moon egg that fell into the Euphrates River at sunrise at the time of the first full moon after the spring
equinox, on a Sunday. Semiramis became known as "Ishtar" which is pronounced "Easter" referred to
as Ashtoreth in scripture, and her moon egg became known as "Ishtar's" egg." One of her titles was the
Queen of Heaven, and two of her fertility symbols were the rabbit and the egg. She soon became
pregnant and claimed that it was the rays of the sun-god Baal (the ascended Nimrod) that caused her to
conceive.
The son that she brought forth was named Tammuz. Tammuz was believed to be the son of the sun-god,
Baal. Tammuz, like his supposed father, became a hunter. The day came when Tammuz was killed by a
wild pig. Queen Ishtar told the people that Tammuz was now ascended to his father, Baal, and that the
two of them would be with the worshipers in the sacred candle or lamp flame as Father, Son and Spirit.
Ishtar, who was now worshiped as the "Mother of God and the Queen of Heaven", continued to build
her mystery religion. The queen told the worshipers that when Tammuz was killed by the wild pig,
some of his blood fell on the stump of an evergreen tree, and the stump grew into a full new tree
overnight. This made the evergreen tree sacred by the blood of Tammuz.
She also proclaimed a forty day period of time of sorrow for each year prior to the anniversary of the
death of Tammuz. During this time, no meat was to be eaten - this is what became known as Lent" in
Roman Catholic tradition. Worshipers were to meditate upon the sacred mysteries of Baal and Tammuz,
and to make the sign of the "Tau" (a cross) in front of their hearts as they worshiped. They also ate
sacred cakes with the marking of a "T" or a cross, on the top. Every year, on the first Sunday after the
first full moon after the spring equinox, a celebration was made. It was Ishtar's Sunday and was
celebrated with rabbits and eggs. Ishtar also proclaimed that because Tammuz was killed by a pig, that
a pig must be eaten on that Sunday.
Ishtar, (Semiramis, widow of Nimrod, mother of Tammuz) came to be represented as the bare breasted
pagan fertility goddess of the east. The original pagan festival of "Easter" was a sex orgy that
celebrated the return of life via the fertility of Ishtar's conception of Tammuz. Worshipers of the
Babylonian religion celebrated the conception of Tammuz on the first Sunday after the Full Moon that
followed the Spring Equinox. They celebrated it by baking cakes to Ishtar, getting drunk, engaging in
sex orgies and prostitution in the temple of Ishtar. Women were required to celebrate the conception of
Tammuz by lying down in the temple and having sex with whoever entered. The man was required to
leave her money. Babies were sacrificed in the honor of these pagan gods and their blood was
consumed by the worshipers. The priest of Easter would sacrifice infants (human babies) and take the
eggs of Easter/Ishtar, as symbols of fertility, and die them in the blood of the sacrificed infants (human
babies). The Easter eggs would hatch on December 25th (nine months later), the same day her son
Tammuz the reincarnate sun-god would be born.
This is where the practice of coloring "easter eggs" came from. Many babies would be born around Dec
25 from the sex orgies that began on the feast of Ishtar in the Spring and many of these babies would be
sacrificed the following Easter/Ishtar feast .
It was also common for pagans to bake cakes to offer to her (the Queen of heaven) on the Friday before
the Easter festival. This is where we gained the custom of 'hot cross buns', with the “cross” symbol
indicating the female (the Babylonian symbol for the “female” was, and is, a circle with a crux/cross
beneath). The cross also indicated the Equinox, when the Earth’s orbit “crossed” the celestial equator.
Jeremiah spoke against this practice and pronounced God's judgment against them for these practices
(Jeremiah 7:17-19; 44:19-29). Ezekiel also speaks against the celebration of the rites of Ishtar which
were taking place in the temple and the weeping for Tammuz (Ezek. 8:14) refers to the mourning
process of the death/resurrection symbolism of Easter, Ishtar weeping for the death of her son Tammuz
which the women were obliged to emulate.
The fertility rites were extended to agricultural processes and to ensure a prosperous growing season,
Pagans rolled eggs decorated with the bright colors of Spring in their fields, hoping to imbue fertility.
These eggs were then hidden from “evil spirits” in rabbits’ nests, another symbol of fertility.
The Easter or Ishtar symbolism of the Sunday resurrection of the spring fertility cult (Easter, the Anglo-
Saxon form of Ishtar), is a pagan system of worship that first penetrated Christianity in the second
century. The symbolism stems from the death of Tammuz (or Dumuzi) on Friday and his resurrection
on Sunday. This mirrors the grain and new shoot symbolism of the corn harvest which occurred at this
time of the year. The 40 days of Lent were picked as one day for each year of his life since he died at
age 40. The rest of the traditions of Easter were "Christianized" into the story of the death and
resurrection of Yeshua the Messiah.

The Infiltration Into The Church

Says Alexander Hislop, "It was an essential principle of the Babylonian system, that the Sun or Baal
was the one only God. When, therefore, Tammuz was worshiped as God incarnate, that implied that he
was an incarnation of the Sun" (p.96). Connected with his worship was a pagan "Lent" of forty days.
Hislop adds, "Among the Pagans this Lent seems to have been an indispensable preliminary to the great
annual festival in commemoration of the death and resurrection of Tammuz, which was celebrated by
alternate weeping and rejoicing . . . being observed in Palestine and Assyria in June, therefore called
the 'month of Tammuz;' in Egypt, about the middle of May, and in Britain, some time in April. To
conciliate the Pagans to nominal Christianity, Rome, pursuing its usual policy, took measures to get the
Christian and Pagan festivals amalgamated, and, by a complicated but skillful adjustment of the
calendar, it was found no difficult matter, in general, to get Paganism and Christianity -- now far sunk
in idolatry -- in this as in so many other things, to shake hands" (ibid., p.105).
The New Catholic Encyclopedia comments: "Since the majority of the early Christians were Jewish
converts, it is understandable that from the outset the Christian calendar was governed by the fact that
the death and Resurrection of Christ had taken place at the time of the chief Jewish feast, the Pasch, or
Passover, celebrated on the 14th day of the month of Nisan, i.e., at the full moon following the Spring
equinox. " (ibid., McGraw Hill, N.Y., 1967; pp. 1062-3). They go on to explain why they changed the
date for uniformity in celebrating it on the same day each year and later to incorporate the pagan Easter
Festival.
The historian Eusebius of Constantine's era, records "When the question relative to the sacred festival
of Easter arose, it was universally thought that it would be convenient that all should keep the feast on
one day; for what could be more beautiful and more desirable, than to see this festival, through which
we receive the hope of immortality, celebrated by all with one accord, and in the same manner?" (Vita
Const., Lib. iii., 18-20) Obviously Eusebius regarded the festival of Easter as 'sacred' and rejected the
God-ordained festival of Passover which the true believers had kept along with the Jews up to that time
from the apostolic era.
Nowhere are the customs associated with Easter sanctioned in the Bible. Nowhere does God command
us or encourage us to observe a custom memorializing or commemorating the DEATH of Messiah on
the tree. Rather, we are commanded to observe the PASSOVER on the 15th of Nisan which celebrates
our DELIVERANCE FROM SIN! Although the emblems of the Passover are to remind us of the
suffering and the death of our Saviour, and the price He paid for us, Passover is a VICTORY
CELEBRATION of the "deliverance" and "salvation" we receive through Messiah -- not a celebration
of His death itself! There is a distinct and clear difference between the two concepts. God does not
want us to commemorate, therefore, the death of His Son.
The Scriptures state: "Cursed is everyone that is hung on a tree" (Gal.3:13). When Messiah was
hanging on that tree, He had become a "curse." He became SIN for us -- our SIN offering. Therefore,
God the Father turned His back on His own Son, to allow Him to DIE for our terrible and many sins.
Paul wrote, "God made him who had no sin to be SIN FOR US, so that we might become the
righteousness of God in Him" (2 Corinthians 5:21). Nevertheless, His death is not the end of the matter.
Rather, "Much more then, being justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For
if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the DEATH of his Son, much more, being
reconciled, we shall be SAVED BY HIS LIFE" (Romans 5:9-10).
Therefore, what we are to commemorate is our VICTORY and TRIUMPH over sin, which was made
possible only through the DEATH of Messiah! We must never forget that fact. We "remember" His
death every time we partake of the emblems of the Lord's Supper, and every night of Nisan 15, when
we celebrate the Passover, just as God commanded, over three thousand years ago!
Where did all of the strange customs come from, which have nothing to do with the resurrection of our
Saviour? The forty days of Lent, eggs, rabbits, hot cross buns and the Easter ham have everything to do
with the ancient pagan religion of Mystery Babylon. Satan is a master deceiver, and has filled the lives
of well-meaning, professing believers with idolatry. These are all antichrist activities!
The Roman Church has taught that Yeshua (Jesus) died on a Friday, but the maths for this doesn't add
up, since the scriptures clearly teach that He rose before Sunday morning, and He spent 3 days and 3
nights in the tomb. While the Bible says He died the day before a Sabbath, they were talking about the
annual Passover Sabbath that falls on the 15th of Aviv, no matter what day of the week the 15th fell on,
and not the weekly Sabbath. You can't get 3 days and 3 nights from Friday to Sunday morning.
To create "Christian" alternatives for the Pagan festivals of "Easter" celebrations, the Roman church
created "Good Friday", though His death was definitely at least one day earlier than on a Friday
(probably Thursday, possibly on a Wednesday). Tammuz also was traditionally to have died on a Friday
and risen on a Sunday. They moved the celebration of what they then called "Passover" to coincide
with the celebration of the resurrection of Tammuz, which was very close to the time of the actual
Passover. The "Easter holiday often involves a church service at sunrise, a feast which includes an
"Easter Ham", decorated eggs and stories about rabbits. Is it truly the day when Jesus/Yeshua arose
from the dead?
Greek texts as well as the Aramaic Peshitta and Old Syriac texts do not say He was raised on the first
day of the week, literally they all say it was on one of the Sabbaths. You have to delve into Hebraic
terminology and the Passover week to figure it out. I would suggest that we turn from Easter/Ishtar to
Passover because that is what the upper room as well as the crucifixion were about.
"Thus says Yahweh, 'Learn not the way of the heathen . . . For the customs of the people are VAIN"
(Jeremiah10:2-3). The Jewish Tanakh has, "Do not learn to go the way of the nations . . . For the laws
of the nations are DELUSIONS." The Moffat translation has, "Never learn to live like PAGANS . . . but
their rites are inane." The Amplified Bible says: "Learn not the way of the heathen (nations) . . . For the
customs and ordinances of the peoples are FALSE, EMPTY and FUTILE."
In Acts 15, when deciding what the Gentile Christians should observe, food offered to idols is first on
the list.
The word “Easter” appears in the KJV translation, but in the Greek from which it is translated, it is
'pascha', and it means Passover, from the Hebrew word “Pesach”. All scholars admit that this is an error
in translation, and it only appears ONCE, at Acts 12:4. Luke, who wrote almost 40% of the writings in
the New Testament, didn’t put it there as “Easter”, he wrote it as "Pesach/Passover". The KJV is the
only one with this error, since translators have since corrected it in all others!
"God is a spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." John 4:24
Yeshua/Jesus said, "This people honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain
they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men." Mark 7: 6b-7

The Origin Of Christmas

Most people assume that Christmas had its origin in the events surrounding the birth of Christ and was
established in the early Church as a memorial of these things to honor the Son of God who came down
to earth to save the world and was instituted as such by His early followers.
The fact is that there is no instruction in scripture to remember His birth, not any record of the early
believers doing so. Nor is there any historical record of any official celebration of Christmas until after
300 AD when the emperor Constantine made Christianity a State 'religion' and gave the pagan
celebrations of the period a "Christian" face.
The Roman Empire's religion was one of sun-worship (Mithraism), a pagan deity whose religious
influence became widespread in the Roman Empire during the first few centuries A.D.. Mithra was
related to the Semitic sun-god, Shamash, and his worship spread throughout Asia to Europe where he
was called Deus Sol Invictus Mithras. Rome was well-known for absorbing the pagan religions and
rituals of its widespread empire. As such, Rome converted this pagan legacy to a celebration of the god,
Saturn, and the rebirth of the sun god during the winter solstice period. The winter holiday became
known as Saturnalia and began the week prior to December 25th. The festival was characterized by
gift-giving, feasting, singing, drinking and downright debauchery, as the priests of Saturn carried
wreaths of evergreen boughs in procession throughout the Roman temples.
The New International Dictionary of the Christian Church, p. 223: “December 25 was the date of the
Roman pagan festival inaugurated in 274 as the birthday of the unconquered sun which at the winter
solstice begins again to show an increase in light. Sometime before 336 the Church in Rome [under
Constantine's control], unable to stamp out this pagan festival, spiritualised it as the Feast of the
Nativity of the Sun of Righteousness.” Hislop observes, “That Christmas was originally a Pagan
festival, is beyond all doubt. The time of the year, and the ceremonies with which it is still celebrated,
prove its origin,” The Two Babylons, p. 93.
Constantine enforced this blended form of Christianity and Mithraism on the empire. He out-lawed the
true Sabbath, and enforced Sun-day worship under penalty of death. He established Catholicism (Latin
meaning: Universalism) by setting the dates for observing the weekly "sabbath" as Sun-day, and Easter
for the empire. (Easter was already one of several vital Pagan observances, originally "Ishtar",
commemorating the impregnation of the Earth-Mother nine months prior to the winter solstice!).
The Encyclopedia Britannica, Volume II (1943-1973), under Christmas, we find: “In the Roman world,
the Saturnalia was a time of merrymaking and exchanging of gifts. December 25th was also regarded
as the birthdate of the Iranian Mystery god, Mithra, the Sun of Righteousness.” Mithra, according to
ancient legend (pre the birth of Yeshua the Messiah), was born on December 25, of a virgin. His birth
was witnessed by shepherds and magicians [magi]. Mithra raised the dead and healed the sick and cast
out demons. He returned to heaven at the spring equinox (northern hemisphere) and before doing so
had a last supper with his 12 disciples (representing the 12 signs of the zodiac), eating mizd, a piece of
bread marked with a cross (an almost universal symbol of the sun).
(Such is the counterfeit "Christ" of he who would assume to be like the Most High God)

So it was not difficult to have the pagans of that period accept the name "Christmas" (Christ's -Mass)
for their celebration of their "Sun of righteousness", the savior/redeemer Mithra, understanding that
there was no change in the customs or the traditions.
The Catholic church fabricated and proclaimed that Jesus was born on December 25 and the festival of
Saturnalia and the birthday of Mithra were now going to be celebrated as the birthday of "Christ" and it
became a State holiday ("holy-day").
With the publication of a standardised text of the writings of the apostles the Messiah's name had also
undergone a change. His Hebrew name was Yehoshua (God's salvation), in usage shortened to Y'shua.
When translating from Hebrew into Greek, the Greek name "IOSOUS" (the name of the Greek god of
healing) was chosen to replace His Hebrew name, further paganising His image and making Him
'acceptable' to the pagan masses of the Roman/Greek-speaking peoples. This name was later changed to
JESUS in Latin.
The true Messiah was not born in December. Shepherds could not have been in the fields in the
northern hemisphere mid-winter. It can be calculated when he was born from the records given in
scripture of the priestly cycle, the details surrounding His birth, the historical records of King Herod
death and the astronomical calculations and records of eclipses and star sightings of the time.
The Bible-believing "Christians" of the time regarded the "Christmas" and "Easter" celebrations which
were introduced as blasphemous and refused to endorse them. Origen proclaimed it heathenish to
celebrate 'Christ's birthday' as if He were merely a temporal ruler when His spiritual nature should be
the main concern and Clement of Alexandria and Epiphanius said it was pagan. :(Encyclopedia
Britannica 15th edition Vol.4 p.499).
Up till this time the only holy days which the followers of the true Messiah had kept were the Passover,
the Feast of Pentecost and the Feast of Tabernacle in Sept/Oct.. When early Christians celebrated a
specific day for a person, it was associated with their death, usually as a martyr, and was an epitaph to
their life's service to God. Only pagans celebrated birth-days.
All of the customs of Christmas pre-date the birth of Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah. It was noted by the
pre-Christian Romans and other pagans, that daylight was at its lowest point prior to December 22nd
when they assumed that the sun god died, and began to increase after that date. These ancients believed
that the sun god rose from the dead three days later as the new-born and venerable sun. Thus, they
figured that to be the reason for increasing daylight.
This was a cause for much wild excitement and celebration. Gift giving and merriment filled the
temples of ancient Rome, as sacred priests of Saturn, called dendrophori, carried wreaths of evergreen
boughs in procession. In Germany, the evergreen tree was used in worship and celebration of the yule
god, also in observance of the resurrected sun god.
The evergreen tree (Christmas tree) was a symbol of the essence of life and was regarded as a phallic
symbol in fertility worship. Witches and other pagans regarded the red holly as a symbol of the
menstrual blood of the queen of heaven, also known as Diana. The holly wood was used by witches to
make wands. The white berries of mistletoe were believed by pagans to represent droplets of the semen
of the sun god. Both holly and mistletoe were hung in doorways of temples and homes to invoke
powers of fertility in those who stood beneath and kissed, causing the spirits of the god and goddess to
enter them.
These customs transcended the borders of Rome and Germany to the far reaches of the known world at
that time.People gave gifts to each other and prepared special foods. They decorated their homes with
green branches. Everywhere, people stopped work to join in the celebration. The merrymaking,
exchanging of gifts, etc. (from the festival of Saturnalia ) and the date, December 25, was an adaptation
of the birthday of Mithra (the sun god).
In England, as the authorized Bible became available to the common people by the decree of King
James II in 1611, people began to discover the pagan roots of Christmas, which are clearly revealed in
Scripture. The Puritans in England, and later in Massachusetts Colony in 1647, outlawed this holiday as
witchcraft.
Yahweh God said to His people "take heed to yourselves that you are not ensnared to follow them, ..
(the people of the nations) .. and that you do not enquire after their gods, saying, 'How did these nations
serve their gods? I will also do likewise. You shall not worship Yahweh your God in that way .. .. ..
Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it."
Deut.12:30-32
The Prophet Jeremiah condemned as Pagan the ancient Middle Eastern practice of cutting down trees,
bringing them into the home and decorating them, "Thus saith Yahweh, learn not the way of the
nations/heathen; and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven. For the heathen are dismayed at them. For
the customs of the people are futile. For one cuts a tree out of the forest. The work of the hands of the
workman with the axe. They decorate it with silver and with gold. They fasten it with nails and with
hammers that it will not topple.. .. .." Jeremiah 10: 2-4
Ezekiel 8:14-18 condemns ancient Israel for adopting worship of Tammuz (the legendary son and re-
incarnation of Nimrod), which included sun worship and the asherah (phallic symbols using trees and
poles). Tammuz is the Phoenician counterpart of Mithra.
The nation of Israel was constantly being disciplined by God for incorporating into their form of
worship toward Him, the customs of the other nations - the pagans round about them. He did not accept
them following the traditions of their day.
We are to cast off the works of darkness (Rom.13:12) knowing that no one who engages in idolatrous
practices is acceptable with God and we are told as new covenant believers to keep ourselves from
things to do with idols (Acts 21:25; 1 John 5:21; 1 Cor.10:14).
"Live as children of light .. and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless
deeds of darkness" Eph 5: 8-11
Ignorantly, those engaging in the customs and traditions associated with Christmas are participating in
pagan worship directed toward the god Mithra (as he was known to the Romans) who is the counterfeit
saviour of the world. We know from past examples in the scriptures that although the general masses of
the people followed false traditions in ignorance, He still held them accountable for their sin in turning
away from the way of worship which He had revealed, and He corrected them.
Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah said that the true worshipers must worship God in spirit and in truth. (John
4:24)
Doing it our own way is not acceptable. That is being insubordinate to what He has decreed and
established as the way to approach Him. He is God! - the whole universe functions on the laws which
He has established.
"There is a way that seems right to man but its end is the way of death" Proverbs 14:12
"But now, overlooking the times of ignorance, God is telling everyone everywhere that they must
repent, because He has fixed a day when He shall judge the world in righteousness by that man He has
appointed. " Acts 17:30-31

The History of Xmas Practices

The counterfeit mystery religion of Babylon which began with the worship of Ishtar (Isis - Astarte -
Ashtaroth -Easter) found expression in many different forms in the different cultures of the world under
many different names, but the essence of the false worship was the same. It was based on a substitute
salvation and redemption message that used the gratification of man's natural five senses and their
fleshly desires. Nimrod and his mother were the originators of this worship upon earth.
Yahweh God instructs us to make no image or likeness of anything which is in heaven or upon earth to
worship them as well as not worshipping actual idols. Exodus 20: 3-4
Satan always attempts to be LIKE the Most High - so he duplicates a redemption story similar to the
plan of God with a Saviour figure who is the Redeemer of mankind, but the worship he institutes is by
symbolic representation in physical objects.
The Babylonians, in their popular religion, worshiped a goddess mother and a son, represented in
pictures and images as a mother with her son in her arms! From Babylon this worship of the mother
and her childspread to the ends of the earth. The original Babylonian mother goddess was Semiramis.
The adored little child in her arms was Ninus (Nimrod/Tammuz), the son. This same little child was
also signified as the husband of Semiramis!
After the decline of Babylon, the religion was transported to Egypt where they worshiped Isis and her
son Osiris (otherwise known as Horus). The same mother and child deities appeared in Pagan Rome as
Fortuna and Jupiter, and in Greece as Ceres, the Great Mother, with the babe at her breast, or as Irene,
the goddess of Peace, with the boy Plutus in her arms. Mithras, known as a god of light, was regarded
as a sun-god or rather the "unconquerable Sun god" This was adopted by the Holy Roman Empire as
the worship of Mary as the Madonna and child. The exaltation of Mary as the “Mother of God” was
proclaimed at the Council of Ephesus in 431 A.D. In Babylon she was called Beltis “the God Mother”
or in Latin it was Mea Domina. Madonna is nothing more than a corrupted form of Mea Domina.
The sun was recognised as the supreme giver of life and so most of the cultic practices associated with
Satan's counterfeit religion revolves around the sun in its function of bringing forth life in the earth and
man's dependence upon it for sustenance.
Satan invented sun-worship. For about 4,000 years, people have celebrated the Sun’s "re-birth" at the
winter solstice. (1.) The winter solstice, being the shortest day-light day of the year, has been a focal
point in the worship of pagan deities in that it centred around the physical sun being at its lowest ebb,
apparently near death, at this time of the year and needing to be 'reborn'. Supposedly it is the time when
the forces of chaos which stand against the the return of light and life must be defeated by the gods
with the assistance of the people through the ordained religious rituals.
December the 25th was the day originally determined in the Roman Empire as the winter solstice (in 46
AD) and the celebration of the 'birthday' or "Nativity of the Sun" and it was not until much later that a
calendar revision changed it to December 21st, but regardless of the change the significance and
festivities that had been centred on that day, remained. The tradition of Mithra as the sun-god had come
to Rome from Persia and in 274 AD the 25th December was established as the festival of the Invincible
Sun by the Emperor Aurelian. This was carried forward by the Emperor Constantine who embraced
"Christianity" in its outward form as a state religion. He carried forward the old festivities of Mithraism
injecting into them "Christian" concepts and names. When Emperor Constantine decreed Christianity
as the new faith of the Roman Empire, early in the fourth century, he gave the holiday an entirely new
name and an entirely new meaning. The Pagans had no difficulty worshipping the Catholic Madonna
and child because they were just seen as another manifestation of the Queen of Heaven and her son, so
it was no compromise for them.
They called the holiday the Mass of Christ, or Christ Mass, which was shortened to Christmas. And
they declared that Christmas was the birthday of Jesus of Nazareth and conducted it as a pagan ritual
sacrifice of “the body and blood of Jesus,” It is a re-enactment of and celebration of His death every
time a Mass is offered. The Mass has its origin in witchcraft.
Britons and Celts, Europe, Indians and Egyptians were all part of the Roman Empire at one time. These
nations brought their own sun-worshipping traditions to join into the empire-wide celebration. All the
people in this Empire, save only a few... gathered in their homes to drink wine... to dance and sing... to
light their candles and exchange presents... giving their children the little clay dolls that represented
their former human sacrifices to the god Saturn! Eating to excess in festive meals, drinking, sexual
indulgence in fertility rites and general debauchery were the norm.
The three days of religious observance in "Christinaity" - Sun-day, Easter (Ishtar) and "Christmas have
their origin in Mithraic, sun-worship, and were introduced into what became the Catholic church at this
time. Constantine outlawed Sabbath observance which had continued up till this time and introduced
the fertility rites of Ishtar (eggs and bunnies) into the Passover observance of Christ's death and
resurrection.
Xmas Trees It was an early Babylonian custom to go out and place a gift on a tree at the winter solstice
(Dec. 25th) as an offering to Tammuz/Nimrod, who was after his death, believed to be the sun. In
ancient Babylon these gifts were placed in the groves on the winter solstice.
The "Christmas trees" represented Nimrod to the ancient sun-worshipers (Jer. 10:2-5), and sunrise
worship services involving "branches" were even found in Ezek. 8:17, where the priests turned toward
the sun with their backs to Yahweh's Temple.
Many Pagan cultures used to cut boughs of evergreen trees in December, move them into the home or
temple, and decorated them, often with gold balls. Modern-day Pagans still do. The evergreen trees
came to symbolize the everlasting life and resurrection power of the god they worshiped, who
originally was Nimrod.
He came to be incorporated into many cultures under different names. So the evergreen tree became
representative of Nimrod the sun-god himself and it was a form of worship and veneration of the sun-
god to take it into one's home and place gifts to him at it's base. Hence the tradition of placing gifts at
the base of this altar to the sun-god. Putting tinsel around the tree comes from the practice of tying a
ribbon around the tree as a prayer to the sun.
A similar practice referred to in scripture was raising an obelisk (a phallic symbol) next to a tree as an
altar for the god represented by the tree. This was called an asherah (pillar) and was forbidden to God's
people. Deut 7: 5; 16:21; Jer.10:2-4
The Asherim were considered altars, where animals and humans were ritually sacrificed. This altar was
often a tree stump, with the trunk snapped-off, leaving jagged spike-like splinters. The Christmas tree
phenomenon is also a type of altar, where gifts and offerings are placed.
The solstice tree is drawn directly from the Pagan worship, rendered for public consumption. Tree
worship is the most prominent feature, however the serpent gets involved also. It seems that the
adversary has the tree and the serpent seared into "his" mind indelibly. A serpent around a stump is one
of the symbols we find used in ancient Pagan religions. The Tree of Life (ets chayim) and the Tree of
the knowledge of good and evil may be the sources this fallen being is borrowing from in the design of
the false worship.
Wreaths Garlands of greenery were also hung on the doors of homes as emblems of the sun. Every
good sun-worshiper had a round wreath on the door of their home. The use of holly and of making
wreaths of laurel branches twisted into a circle was a symbol of the sun. Nimrod was associated with
greenery who was worshiped as the sun idol after he was slain and the wreaths made into round solar
shapes were emblems of him. Everyone exchanged gifts, and drunken partying was everywhere.
The color RED was also symbolic for the sun, bringing to mind HEAT. That is the reason for the
combination of green and red in the "Christmas" theme.

Santa The original 'Santa' was 2' tall (well able to slide down chimneys), wore green, had a long white
beard and was a leprechaun with magical powers. This figure was imported from Irish and Dutch
sources and renovated from the Druidic form and transformed into a full-sized jolly plump man dressed
in red and white to advertise Coca-cola in late 19th century early 20th century. The original supposed
3rd century story of St. Nicholas (in Holland) never had anything to do with elves, chimneys and flying
reindeer. It is claimed that he was a bishop, but Holland was steeped in barbaric Druidic rites at this
time until the 8th century and there is nothing to substantiate it being other than a fairly recent legend.
Similar legends are in other cultures. The fireplace was the most sacred spot in pagan homes and he
flew horned beasts at night into their fireplaces.
The hanging up of a stocking and exchanging kisses under the mistletoe comes from the witchcraft
practices of Druidism.
Who is this mystical figure that focuses in the celebration of the birthday of the sun? If you re-arrange
the letters of his name (Santa) you get S-A-T-A-N, the one behind all religious practices that do not
align with the Word of God.

Incorporation into the Church

In the year 525, Dionysus Exiguus (a "monk", Dennis the Little) came to Rome from Scythia. Coming
upon the time of the Solstice festival when the people were celebrating the birthday of the sun, he
witnessed all Rome in revelry. Dionysus Exiguus was shocked and dismayed. Reasoning that it was
impossible to stand in the way of the frenzied fervor. He therefore sought to "revise" the meaning of it
by claiming it to be the celebration of the birth of the Messiah, not the Pagan sun idol, Mithras (Satan)
-- thus justifying it by adopting this satanic ceremony into "Christianity" (violating Deut. 12:30,31).
The apologists call it "inculturation" when we steal a page out of Satan's book and take it as our own.
We have inherited these customs from the state and church merger of the 4th century AD which
continues the deception which was propagated then. While it is true that the structure of our nation has
been founded on Christian principles and moral codes originally, not all the customs and traditions in
our nation have their origin in the scriptures and each one of us are called individually to separate
ourselves from the things of this world's system and are personally accountable to God to do this. We
have to be faithful to His Word and not to a Church or to family. 2 Cor. 6:14-7:1
The established Churches have continued these traditions after they separated from the Roman Catholic
church, believing the lies they have been taught without searching for the truth from the Word of God.
Those who have seen the error of these things have been silent and not taught the people to flee from
idolatry as the scripture says. 1 Cor.10:14; 1 Peter 4: 1-6
"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness; who
put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." Isaiah 5:20
The adversary masquerades as a "messenger of light" 2 Corinthians 11:14. In fact the Latin word
"Lucifer" means light bearer. And so anything that comes from him we can expect to look desirable on
the surface and have an appearance of 'light' and truth. However, it is what lies beneath the surface of
this well cherished holiday that matters. (Eph. 5:11-13).
There is no instruction in the apostolic writings to the believers, nor is there anything said in the
accounts of Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah ever instructing His followers to remember Him in any other
way than by His sacrifice for their sins which was celebrated at the Last Supper at Passover time. It was
by this that He asked to be remembered until He returns to celebrate it with us in His Father's kingdom.
Luke 22: 7-20
Yahweh our Elohim forbids us to even "learn" the way of the pagans (Deut. 12:28-32). His Word says
not to even search out what the pagans do, let alone incorporate those forms of worship and practice
them as a way of worshiping Him. We are told to come out of the Babylonish system of worship and
worship the Father in spirit and in truth for such is what the Father desires. He has no pleasure in our
ignorant following of the pagan customs of our culture. Revelation 18:2-5; John 4:24
Yahweh has instructed us not to worship Yahweh in any false or perverted manner. Rebellion is as the
sin of witchcraft, and we certainly know that any involvement with Asherim or occultic symbols is
witchcraft as well as being idolatry.

When was Yeshua/Jesus born?

A. Popular myth puts his birth on December 25th in the year 1 C.E.
B. The New Testament gives no date or year for Jesus’ birth. The earliest gospel – St. Mark’s,
written about 65 CE – begins with the baptism of an adult Jesus. This suggests that the earliest
Christians lacked interest in or knowledge of Jesus’ (Yeshua's) birthdate.
C. The year of Jesus/Yeshua's birth was determined by Dionysius Exiguus, a Scythian monk,
“abbot of a Roman monastery in 525 AD

He also devised the currently used system of chronology related to the supposed year of His birth
which Has been realized to be in error of at least four years. Part of the reason for this was that no
one had a standardized accurate accounting of time.

The year of His birth would be according to our present calendar 4BC. His calculation went as follows:
a. In the Roman, pre-Christian era, years were counted from aburbe condita (“the founding of the
City” [Rome]). Thus 1 AUC signifies the year Rome was founded, 5 AUC signifies the 5th year
of Rome’s reign, etc.

b. Dionysius received a tradition that the Roman emperor Augustus reigned 43 years, and was
followed by the emperor Tiberius.

c. Luke 3:1,23 indicates that when Jesus turned 30 years old, it was the 15th year of Tiberius
reign.

d. If Jesus was 30 years old in Tiberius’ reign, then he lived 15 years under Augustus (placing
Jesus birth in Augustus’ 28th year of reign).

e. Augustus took power in 727 AUC. Therefore, Dionysius put Jesus birth in 754 AUC.

f. However, Luke 1:5 places Jesus’ birth in the days of Herod, and Herod died in 750 AUC – four
years before the year in which Dionysius places Jesus birth.

D. Joseph A. Fitzmyer – Professor Emeritus of Biblical Studies at the Catholic University of America,
member of the Pontifical Biblical Commission, and former president of the Catholic Biblical
Association – writing in the Catholic Church’s official commentary on the New Testament[1], writes
about the date of Jesus’ birth, “Though the year [of Jesus birth is not reckoned with certainty, the birth
did not occur in AD 1. The Christian era, supposed to have its starting point in the year of Jesus birth, is
based on a miscalculation introduced ca. 533 by Dionysius Exiguus.” Based on historical records,
Fitzmyer guesses that Jesus birth occurred on September 11, 3 BCE.
Luke 2:8 tells us the shepherds were in the fields. If it had been December or November the sheep
would have been in pens for warmth - no one would have their sheep out on a winter night.
Gabriel’s announcement to Mirium occurred on the last day of Hanukkah (Feast of Lights) I.E. 2
Teveth (3999) plus 280 day gestation period puts Yeshua's birth on Tishri 15 (Sept 23, 3 BCE [before
Christian era]) which puts His birth on the Feast of Tabernacles. Lev. 24 tells us The fifteenth day of
this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days to Yahweh. The seventh month was
Tishri in the Hebrew calendar.
The date that Gabriel the angel told Zechariah that he and his wife were going to have Yochanan is
established from the following. Luke 1.5 states that Zechariah is a priest of the course of Abijah. King
David, according to I Chronicles 24, had divided the priestly families into twenty-four groups. Each
group was called to serve twice a year with all being present for the major festivals. (Deuteronomy
16.16). Therefore, the first course served the first week of the year (Aviv); the second course, the next
and so on. I Chronicles 24.10 lists the course of Abijah as the eighth course. This course would serve
on the tenth week of the first half of the year, having allowed two weeks for the festival of Unleavened
Bread and Pentecost. It is at this time that Zechariah receives the prophecy of Yochanan's birth. Luke
1.8-13
Allowing time for conception after his return home and going forward a normal pregnancy, the time of
Yochanan's birth (if this is the first half of the year) would be approximately Passover.
Six months following Elizabeth's conception, the angel Gabriel is sent to Miriam (Mary), the cousin of
Elizabeth. Luke 1.26-33
Six months from Elizabeth's conception would bring the date of the angel Gabriel's pronouncement to
the month of Kislev. Starting at Chanukkah, which begins on Kislev 25 and continues for eight days,
and counting through the nine months of Miriam's pregnancy brings one to the approximate time of
Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles) which is in Sept/Oct of the Gregorian calendar which we use, and
autumn in the Middle East.
Further indication that it was the festival of Sukkot is the fact that there was no room for lodgings in
Bethlehem (being close to Jerusalem) which would take the overflow of people coming there for the
festival.
This can be further established by the date of Herod's death which is recorded by the historian
Josephus.
Thus, it can be definitely said that Jesus (Yeshua the Messiah) could not have been born on December
25th.

The Saturnalia
The Saturnalia (which means 'sun-stop') is the week-long pagan festival of the winter solstice which
began on December the 17th as the sun was seen to be rising further to the south and thought of as
"dying". By December the 25th, the ancient world's solstice, it could be recognised as beginning to turn
northwards again and was said to be "re-born" and therefore was proclaimed to be the birthday of the
sun-deity.
All of the known sun-deities were 'born' on December the 25th, these include Mithra, Krishna (Vishnu),
Osiris, Horus, Hercules, Dionysus (Bacchus), Tammuz, Indra, Jesus Christ (not Yahushua), Buddha as
well as the Scandinavian goddesses. [Aryan Sun Myths, The Origins of Religion - S.E. Titcombe], as
well as all the other reincarnations of the child-god of the Babylonian religious system.
Behind all Pagan deity worship stands Satan himself. He accepts honor in whatever name we wish to
call him; Baal, Moloch, Marduk, Venus, Odin, Krishna, Aphrodite, Ishtar, Zeus, Amon-Ra, Mithras,
Ahura-Mazda, Dagon -- male or female, it matters not. The most important day in the life of any satan
worshipper is their annual birthday.
For roughly 4,000 years, the SOLSTICE has been -- by proxy -- the day of Satan's birthday celebration
(because he is the designer of the original astrological religious pattern), and deceived mankind to
cause them to worship the sun.
Nimrod, grandson of Ham, son of Noah, was the real founder of the Babylonian system that has
gripped the world ever since. Nimrod built the tower of Babel, the original Babylon, ancient Nineveh,
and many other cities. He organized this world's first kingdom. The name Nimrod, in Hebrew, maybe
derived from "Marad' meaning, "he rebelled." (Gen. 10: 6,8-12)
Nimrod was known as the god of the Chaldean Mysteries. In the Chaldean mysteries, the Babylonian
dictator Nimrod was deified as Saturn. Satan and Saturn are the same words, one 'Early Latin', and the
other 'Late Latin'... His birthday was celebrated on December 25th or the Saturnalia. Saturn and
Mystery are both chaldean words, and they are correlative terms. As Mystery signifies the hidden
system, so Saturn signifies the hidden god.*
...Saturn in Chaldee is pronounced Satur, but as every Chaldee scholar knows, it
consists only of four letters, thus-STUR. This name contains exactly the
Apocalyptic number 666:--
S=060
T=400
U=006
R=200
---------
666

Satur is the goat-legged half man half goat 'deity' headed by Pan (a representation of satan) sometimes
spelt 'satyr' in English.
The Oxford dictionary identifies it as 'Saturos' in Greek. The Saturs and their leader Pan are also known
as "Goat-gods".
The early Babylonians called the sun "the Goat" and said that the "Goat-god" was the "Sun-god". Isaiah
13:21 identifies the Saturs as belonging to Babylon.
The scapegoat Azazel of Leviticus 16 was a figure of satan (Christianity and Mythology J.M.
Robertson pp.319-325). This is also confirmed by the Church Father, Origen.
A deity with two goat-legs has always been identified as satan. The names Satur and Saturn therefore
are camouflaged references to Satan. (Hislop and Jacob Grimm)
The Saturnalia was named for Saturn, otherwise known as Cronus. Cronus is an alias for Tammuz.
Tammuz was Nimrod reborn - alias, his son. His wife and mother was Rhea (Semiramis). Egyptian and
Babylonian antiquities recognize his mother as Semiramis, and his birthday is celebrated on 25th
December. Semiramis was depicted as a virgin Madonna holding the "Christ" child.
The Saturnalia, therefore, was just another observance for Tammuz/Nimrod, the Babylonian,
counterfeit redeemer.
Ezekiel was shown some of the abominations taking place in the temple with the people incorporating
the worship of Tammuz in their religious observances. (Ezekiel/Yehezqel 8:15-16).
They were mixing the worship of the One true God with the customs of sun worship and Yahweh called
it an abomination to Him. Yahweh says "Do not learn the way of the pagans/gentiles," Jeremiah 10:1
Satan (Hebrew shatan) means "adversary" and is against God-ordained worship and the true
worshippers of God. He is a real, fallen messenger opposed to Yahweh, and is ruling the entire Earth in
all religious, political, and mercantile areas that are substituting the true worship of Yahweh for
counterfeit practices and methods of worship. True worship is in SPIRIT and in TRUTH. (John 4:24)
Soulish worship is centred in man's emotions to meet man's need to worship something. "Your Word is
truth" (John 17:17) i.e. true worship must be according to the Word - not according to tradition or
human sentiment. Rome was once know as Saturnalia, "The city of Saturn".
The Encyclopedia Britannica, Volume II (1943-1973), under Christmas, we find: “In the Roman world,
the Saturnalia was a time of merrymaking and exchanging of gifts. December 25th was also regarded
as the birthdate of the Iranian Mystery god, Mithra, the Sun of Righteousness.” The sun god was also
known as Saturnalia as well as Nimrod!
Mithra, according to ancient legend (pre the birth of Yeshua the Messiah), was born on December 25,
of a virgin. His birth was witnessed by shepherds and magicians [magi]. Mithra raised the dead and
healed the sick and cast out demons. He returned to heaven at the spring equinox (northern hemisphere)
and before doing so had a last supper with his 12 disciples (representing the 12 signs of the zodiac),
eating mizd, a piece of bread marked with a cross (an almost universal symbol of the sun).
Such is the counterfeit "Christ" of he who would assume to be like the Most High God.
"And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER
OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." Revelation 17:5

The Celebration in Rome

New International Dictionary of the Christian Church, p. 223: “December 25 was the date of the
Roman pagan festival inaugurated in 274 as the birthday of the unconquered sun which at the winter
solstice begins again to show an increase in light. Sometime before 336 the Church in Rome, unable to
stamp out this pagan festival, spiritualized it as the Feast of the Nativity of the Sun of Righteousness.”
Hislop observes, “That Christmas was originally a Pagan festival, is beyond all doubt. The time of the
year, and the ceremonies with which it is still celebrated, prove its origin,” The Two Babylons, p. 93.
Funk and Wagnalls Standard Dictionary of Folklore, Mythology, and Legend, on page 974, says -"The
usual was suspended during the Saturnalia: no punishments were handed down by the courts; schools
were closed; war-making ceased; the toga was replaced by an undergarment; masquerading and change
of dress between the sexes occurred; gambling, especially dicing, was fully countenanced; social
distinctions not only were not observed, but often reversed, as in the instance of masters serving their
servants; speech and action (as in many fertility ceremonies) were to some extent unbridled. The whole
series of observances obviously place the Saturnalia among the fertility rites; everything tended
towards increasing the fruitfulness of nature and of the people of ensuring the rotation of the seasons by
observing the turn of the sun northward again. The gift of imitation fruit has apparently to do with
increase; the candles indicate the making of new fires customary at the solstices; the dolls, as has been
noted as early as Varro, are the remains of the custom of human sacrifice."
Each Roman community selected a victim whom they forced to indulge in food and other physical
pleasures throughout the week. At the festival’s conclusion, December 25th, Roman authorities
believed they were destroying the forces of darkness by brutally murdering this innocent man or
woman.
The ancient Greek writer poet and historian Lucian (in his dialogue entitled Saturnalia) describes the
festival’s observance in his time. In addition to human sacrifice, he mentions these customs:
widespread intoxication; going from house to house while singing naked (a precursor of modern
caroling); rape and other sexual license; and consuming human-shaped biscuits.
They celebrated what they thought was the sun’s return by having orgies, human and animal sacrifices
and eating blood pudding which we today call the Christmas Pudding.
The festival was characterized by gift-giving, feasting, singing and debauchery, as the priests of Saturn
carried wreaths of evergreen boughs in procession throughout the Roman temples. People decorated
their homes with green branches, evergreen wreaths, incense, candles, and religious figurines and gave
them as gifts to one another. Everywhere, people stopped work to join in the celebration.
The Roman Empire was a World-Ruling Empire at that time. The customs of Rome were spread to the
entire known world! Britons and Celts, Indians and Egyptians were all called part of the Roman Empire
at one time. These nations brought their own sun worshiping cults to join into the Saturnalia
Celebrations! It was an empire-wide celebration. All the people in this Empire, save only a few...
gathered in their homes to drink wine... to dance and sing... to light their candles and exchange
presents... giving their children the little clay dolls that represented their former sacrifices! The
Strenae... honoring the goddess Strenia... were given for ‘good luck!’ The feast of fools and the Lord of
Misrule derived directly from the Saturnalia
The Christmas Tree, the holly, the mistletoe, the lights, the gold and silver decorations and even the
colour theme of red (for the sun) and green (for new life) had their origin in the festivities associated
with sun-worship.
The early Christians found a birthday celebration of a religious figure strange or blasphemous. The
only people who celebrated birthdays were the pagans in Rome.

SUN DAY WORSHIP

Sun-day worship is the setting aside of the first day of the week for the worship of the sun deity, known
in Babylon as Tammuz, in Persia as Mithras, in Greece as Helios and in Rome as Sol Invictus, the
"unconquerable sun".

THE ORIGIN OF SUN WORSHIP

Sun worship originated in Babylon with the Bible character known as Nimrod setting himself up as a
"mighty one" in the earth by subjugating the population of that time to his authority and control
(Genesis 10:8-12). Pagan sources name his wife as Semiramis who became identified as the Queen of
heaven. Jewish historical sources state that he was killed by one of the patriarchs because of the evil he
was bringing into the earth. (1) After his death, Semiramis his wife, became pregnant and bore a son
which was claimed to be of divine origin, having been conceived from the now risen "Nimrod".
The Bible tells us that there were progeny from the "sons of God" after the era of the flood (Genesis
6:4). The word used for 'giants' is Nephilim which means 'fallen ones' and there are many instances
where these 'fallen ones', the progeny of the fallen angels, are mentioned in scripture after the flood. (2)
It seems that the name Tammuz was given to this child of "divine" origin and he became worshiped as
the promised messiah for the fallen race of mankind. Being hailed as the life-giver, the one who would
revert the curse upon man through faith in him, the solar image, representing the physical giver of life,
became a symbol which was used to represent him and in time sun worship developed out of this
symbolism.
Nimrod/Tammuz and his mother-wife, Semiramis, founded the great pagan religions centered around
this counterfeit representation of the messianic hope of mankind. "Sun worship was the earliest idolatry
." -Fausset Bible Dictionary , p. 666.
Sun-worship became the dominant religion in all ancient civilizations, spreading from Mother Babylon
to India, China, Africa, Greece, Rome, Mexico, South America, Egypt and Europe. Historically, pagan
Babylon worshipped the sun as a deity, and pagan religions also worshipped the invincible sun. The
first day of the week, the most pre-eminent position in the week, was therefore given to the worship of
the sun in the calendar of the ancients. Worshipping on Sunday goes back at least two thousand years
before Christ. It was from this false sun-worship that we get the name 'Sunday' - i.e. sun-day, in our
calendar for the first day of the week.
“Sunday is the first day of the week, adopted from the Roman calendar because it was dedicated to the
worship of the sun.” [Unger’s Bible Dictionary under the article “Sunday”]
Babylon is the mother of all “harlot” religions and all the pagan abominations and false worship
systems that exists on earth!

THE INFILTRATION OF THE CHURCH

Sun worship was a very prominent religion at the time of Christ and Sunday was the main day of
worship in the pagan Roman Empire, just as it was in ancient pagan Babylon.
"Sun worship was one of the oldest components of the Roman religion." [Gaston H. Halsberge, The
Cult of Sol Invictus, 1972, p. 26.]
Pagan Babylon’s rituals, customs and sun worship began to infiltrate the church in the first two
centuries through Greek philosophy. But it was not until the time of Constantine, that it had a major
effect when he made "Christianity" the state religion and incorporated the traditions associated with the
worship of the sun into his legislations for Church practice. He changed the observance of the Sabbath
to the first day of the week, in honour of the "Invincible Sun" by civil law, and filled the church with
the commonly used pagan holy days, images and symbols of the sun.
The Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible' emphasizes the motive of Constantine for legislating Sunday
as a day of rest, and stresses, "Indeed, this god" (the sun god) "was the titulary divinity of Constantine's
family, and from the fourth century there is an increasing assimilation of Christ to the Sun-god (as Sun
of Righteousness), the Christos Helios (cf. Eusebius Life of Constantine 1.4.18; and the notable mosaic
of Christos Helios recently uncovered in the tomb of the Julii under the Vatican)."
Constantine who reigned from 306-337, called the Sun-deity: "Unconquered Sun, my companion." His
edict in the year 321 legislated the "venerable day of the Sun" to be a rest-day. This rest was
commanded in honour of the sun-god, and not in honour of the Messiah, the Son.
"On the Venerable Day of the Sun ("Venerable die Solis" -the sacred day of the Sun) let the magistrates
and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country, however, persons
engaged in agriculture may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits; because it often happens that
another day is not so suitable for grain-sowing or for vine-planting; lest by neglecting the proper
moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost- given the 7th day of March [A.D.
321], Crispus and Constantine being consuls each of them for the second time." [The First Sunday Law
of Constantine I, in "Codex Justianianus,"lib. 3, tit. 12, 3; trans. in Phillip Schaff, History of the
Christian Church, Vol. 3, p. 380]
Eusebius, his supporter, says, " All things whatsoever that were prescribed for the Sabbath, we have
transferred them to the Lord's day, as being more authoritative and more highly regarded and first in
rank, and more honorable than the Jewish Sabbath." [Bishop Eusebius, quoted in J. P. Migne,
"Patrologie," p. 23,1169-1172 (Eusebius of Caesarea was a high-ranking Catholic leader during
Constantine's lifetime]
This change-over to Sunday by the Church took place in the year 336 and was the first law passed to
legalise Sunday-keeping (some authorities give the date as 364) at the Council of Laodicca, Canon 29:
"Christians shall not Judaize and be idle on Saturday (in the original: 'sabbato' -shall not be idle on the
Sabbath), but shall work on that day; but the Lord's day they shall especially honour, and as being
Christians, shall, if possible, do no work on that day. If, however, they are found Judaizing, they shall
be shut out ('anathema,' excommunicated) from Christ." [ Council of Laodicea, c. A.D. 337, Canon 29,
quoted in C. J. Hefele, A History of the Councils of the Church, Vol. 2, p. 316]
However, Christians continued to observe the seventh-day Sabbath at least as late as the middle of the
fifth century A.D. 450. Socrates made this statement 100 years after Constantine's Sunday Law was
passed: "Although almost all churches throughout the world celebrate the sacred mysteries on the
Sabbath every week, yet the Christians of Alexandria and at Rome, on account of some ancient
tradition, have ceased to do this." -Socrates Scholasticus, quoted in Ecclesiastical History, Book 5,
chap. 22 [written shortly after A.D. 439].
Also as quoted by Sozomen, "The people of Constantinople, and almost everywhere, assemble together
on the Sabbath, as well as on the first day of the week, which custom is never observed at Rome or at
Alexandria" [Ecclesiastical History, vii, 19, in A Select Library of Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers, 2nd
Series, Vol. 2, p. 390 (written soon after A.D. 415)].
But gradually the influence and power of the Roman Church grew, sup ported by political and civil
authorities with their power and the strong anti-Judaism that prevailed. Sabbath-keeping dwindled until
there was but a scattered and persecuted remnant left.
In the 5th century, the Messiah was not only called "the True Sun," but also "the true Apollo,"' the age-
old Sun-deity of the Greeks. The adoption of Sunday instead of the Sabbath, became a contributory
factor in the assimilation of our Saviour to the Sun, even the Sun as deity, Him being made into
Christos Helios, Christ the True Sun, Christ the Eternal Sun.
Many of the pagan sunburst images used by the church show up in various forms of church art. The art-
forms of the time in paintings and pictures, as well in statues and images, depicted our Messiah with
sun-rays or a nimbus (sun-disc) about His head. There are a great number of these illustrations to be
found in ecclesiastical books. In a large number of the traditional churches altars there are the same
general Babylonian sun symbol. Some have tapestry with a sunburst design nearly identical to the
pagan sun-god symbol of Baal/Shamash. This tapestry is called the altar frontal, antipendium, or
pallium altaris.

ISRAEL AS AN EXAMPLE
In the great temple of Babylon, the golden image of the Sun was exhibited for the worship of the
Babylonians. In Egypt, the disk of the Sun was represented in the temples, and the sovereign and his
wife and children were represented as adoring it. In the worship of Baal, as practised by the idolatrous
Israelites in the days of their apostasy, the worship of the sun's image was equally observed; and it is
striking to find that the image of the sun, which apostate Israel worshipped, was erected above the altar
(3).
So the false religion of sun worship in Israel was Baal and it all came from the same source, from
'Babylon'. In their worship of Baal, they profaned the Sabbath and worshiped on the first day of the
week, the sun day instead of God's worship day, the seventh day of the week. For this, Yahweh brought
a charge against them and judged them.
"Moreover, they have done this to Me: They have defiled My sanctuary on the same day and profaned
My Sabbaths." (Ezekiel 23:38) And for this He brought the Babylonians against them to defile their
sanctuary and allow the land her Sabbaths: "to fulfill the word of Yahweh by the mouth of Jeremiah,
until the land had enjoyed her Sabbaths. As long as she lay desolate she kept Sabbath, to fulfill seventy
years." 2 Chronicles 36:21
God had forbidden them to bring any of the objects of Baal worship into their tents or homes, and He
especially commanded that none of their pagan customs ever be used in connection with His worship.
"The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is
on them, nor take it unto thee.... Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a
cursed thing like it." Deuteronomy 7:25, 26.
He also commanded "Take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow after them (the way the
nations worship their gods) .. .. .. and that thou inquire not after their gods, saying, How did these
nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise." Deuteronomy 12:30.
The Israelites were also warned not to adopt pagan religious practices that God viewed as
abominations. "You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way: .. .. .. "Whatever I command you,
be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it." (Deuteronomy 12:31a, 32).
How does He relate to worship on Sunday which was transferred directly from pagan Baal sun worship
to honour the Antichrist system of Babylonian worship?
“So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored
beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in
purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in
her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name
written, Mystery, Babylon the Great, the mother of Harlots and abominations of the earth ” (Revelation
17:3-5.).

3. When the good king Josiah set about the work of reformation, we read that his servants in carrying
out the work, proceeded thus (2 Chronicles 34:4): "And they brake down the altars of Baalim in his
presence, and the images (margin, sun images) that were on high above them, he cut down.... " 'Bold

Halloween
Every October 31st, hundreds of thousands of children dress in costumes, which range from the cute
and sweet to the macabre and satanic. Every year this custom is repeated because it has always been
done. That is what makes it a ritual. After all, it is all harmless fun.
But where did the rituals come from?
• Why do people carve jack-o-lanterns?
• Why do children dress in costumes?
• Where did the tradition of bobbing for apples at parties originate?
• Why, when children approach a stranger's door, do they enthusiastically exclaim, "trick or
treat"?
• How did the custom of orange and black as the colors of Halloween get started?

The Origins
Some form of Halloween was observed by the ancient Romans and Greeks and many others all kept a
Halloween festival.
The Druids of Britain, celebrated Samhain, a festival that marked the eve of the Celtic New Year, which
began on November 1st. The fall harvest was complete and winter loomed ahead. The Druids believed
the power of the sun was fading. For the next several months, darkness would prevail.
"Because the Celtic day started at sunset, and ran to the following sunset, the festival began on the eve
of 1 November, when the souls of the departed were supposed to revisit their old homes in order to
warm themselves by the fire and to comfort themselves with the good cheer provided for them in the
kitchen or the parlor by their affectionate kinsfolk. All Hallows Eve, as the beginning of winter and the
dying time of the old year, was a night when the dead stalked the countryside. Offerings of food and
drink were put out for the ghosts," Man, Myth and Magic, Vol. 1, p. 67.
It was believed by the Druids that during Samhain, the dead would play "tricks on mankind and caused
panic and destruction. They had then to be appeased. Part of this appeasement process involved the
giving of food to the spirits as they visited the homes. This formed the foundation of the modern
practice of "trick or treat." Man, Myth and Magic, Vol. 4, p. 440
The ceremony of Halloween underwent an infusion of other pagan influences when the Celt homeland
was absorbed by the Roman Empire. While Rome allowed the Druid priests to continue all their
ceremonies, "except human sacrifice," new rituals of Roman origins were also incorporated. "Chief
among them was the worship of Pomona, goddess of the harvest. Representing bounty and fecundity,
Pomona was shown in art sitting on a great basket of fruits and flowers, a horn of plenty at her feet.
Apples were the sacred fruit of the goddess, and many games of divination involving apples entered the
Samhain customs through her influence. One of the most popular involved bobbing for apples,"
Common Boundary, Sep./Oct. 1993, p. 30.
Michael Judge, writing for the New Age periodical Common Boundary, explains, Halloween probably
began between 1000 and 100 B.C., among the Celtic people. The actual holiday was a commemoration
of their new year (Sep./Oct. 1993, p. 29). It was at this time of the year that Baal, the Celtic god of
Spring and Summer, ended his reign. It was also when the Lord of the Dead, Samhain, began his reign.
The History Channel reports some interesting background on Halloween: "The tradition of dressing in
costume for Halloween has both European and Celtic roots. Hundreds of years ago, winter was an
uncertain and frightening time. Food supplies often ran low and, for the many people afraid of the dark,
the short days of winter were full of constant worry. On Halloween, when it was believed that ghosts
came back to the earthly world, people thought that they would encounter ghosts if they left their
homes. To avoid being recognized by these ghosts, people would wear masks when they left their
homes after dark so that the ghosts would mistake them for fellow spirits. On Halloween, to keep
ghosts away from their houses, people would place bowls of food outside their homes to appease the
ghosts and prevent them from attempting to enter."

Incorporated into the Church

"Grafted onto one of the Church's great holy days, Samhain became All Hallows Eve, contracted over
years of usage to All Hallows Een and, ultimately, Halloween," Common Boundary, Sep./Oct. 1993, p.
31.
Celebrations were marked by bonfires, parades, and people dressing up in costumes as saints, angels,
and devils.
There isn't a lot that has changed from the past. During the 19th century, there was a move to center
Halloween on family and community, but the roots and traditions of it proved to be too entrenched to
change it.

The Origin of Trick-or-Treating

It's been suspected that the act of going from door to door to get candy traces back to the All Saint's day
parades when during the festivities, the poor would go around to peoples' houses begging for food.
Families who answered the door would give them pastries called "Soul cakes" in return for their
promise that they would pray for family's dead relatives. This practice was eventually given over to
children and intended to replace the tradition of leaving out food for "roaming spirits".
Halloween also serves as a time for those involved in the occult, witchcraft, and demonism
commemorate their own sacred rituals. Covens gather and the worshiping of spirits commences.
The Scriptural Stand on Halloween
Aside from trick-or-treating, the fruit of this holiday is arguably not heavily weighted towards
"community". The abundance of haunted houses, witches, devil, and ghost costumes, seances, scary
stories, and the general presence of "death" is not something edifying for believers to be engaged in.
As a Christian, we are not to make idols of the dead. We honor the dead, but we don't worship the dead.
There is only one who gets the "worship" in this deal and it's God. The dead are dead. Let their bodies
be in the grave and their souls rest in heaven or hell.
Occult practices are an abomination to Yahweh, Deuteronomy 18:10-12, and Witchcraft was something
that Yahweh determined should be completely eliminated from a believing community, Exodus 22:18.
The New Testament Scriptures also gives several examples of what our response to the Occult should
be - Acts 19:19; 2 Corinthians 6:14 ( sources for research )

Where you aware that Israel of old did as the churches of today do concerning Halloween?
Halloween is a day the Pagan holds dear. Scriptures states plainly that Israel too joined
themselves with the Pagan feasts on the border of Canaan. Isaiah saw this as an
abomination unto God, for the prophet states plainly that "When they shall say unto you,
Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep and that mutter: should
not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?" Isaiah 8:19
"This same belief in communion with the dead formed the cornerstone of heathen idolatry.
The gods of the heathen were believed to be the deified spirits of departed heroes. Thus the
religion of the heathen was a worship of the dead. This is evident from the Scriptures. In the
account of the sin of Israel at Bethpeor, it is stated: "Israel abode in Shittim, and the people
began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab. And they called the people unto the
sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods. And Israel
joined himself unto Baalpeor." (Numbers 25:1-3.) The psalmist tells us to what kind of gods
these sacrifices were offered. Speaking of the same apostasy of the Israelites, he says,
"They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead" (Psalm
106:28); that is, sacrifices that had been offered to the dead.
The deification of the dead has held a prominent place in nearly every system of
heathenism, as has also the supposed communion with the dead. The gods were believed to
communicate their will to men, and also, when consulted, to give them counsel. Of this
character were the famous oracles of Greece and Rome. The belief in communion with the
dead is still held, even in professedly Christian lands..." -Patriarchs and Prophets p 684
This is no different than the Pagan feast of Halloween. Does not Halloween honor the dead?
And where you also aware that the Lisbon Earthquake on November 1, 1755 found many
ready for death in their Roman Catholic churches worshipping the dead on "all saints day"
the day after Halloween? I wonder how many in those churches were "praying for the dead"
when they died that day?
"The Lisbon Earthquake, which occurred on November 1, 1755, is the most notable
earthquake in history." -Nelson's New Loose-leaf Encyclopedia (Book Productions
Industries Inc.), art. "Earthquake."
Says Sir Charles Lyell, "A violent shock threw down the greater part of the city. In the course
of about six minutes, 60,000 persons perished. The sea first retired and laid the bar dry; it
then rolled in, rising 50 feet or more above its ordinary level... The area over which this
convulsion extended is very remarkable." -Principles of Geology (11th ed., 1872), vol. 2, pp.
147, 148.
Encyclopedia Britannica (1945) estimates the deaths at a lower figure, but says the effects of
the quake were felt from Scotland to Asia Minor and the distinctive feature of the Lisbon
Earthquake was the agitation of inland lakes and streams far beyond the disturbed area
-For instance, Italy, Switzerland, Great Britain, Sweden, and Norway felt the effects. (Articles

Halloween- What is it to us?

This article is from this weeks TEMKIT - the entire issue is found on site here-

1Co 10:20,21 “But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to
devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. Ye
cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the
Lord's table, and of the table of devils.”

With the loving approval of their parents, children dress up in weird costumes and
play pranks on Halloween night--little realizing that for over a thousand years this one
evening in the year has been specially dedicated by spirit mediums and witches to the
worship of Satan.
Halloween has nothing to do with Christianity. It is a festival which no one—child or adult—
should have anything to do with. We need to better understand the origins of Halloween and
its dangers.

October 31st was celebrated by the Druids with many human sacrifices and a festival
honoring their sun god and Samhain, the lord of the dead. (Both are really Satan) They
believed that the sinful souls of those who died during the year were in a place of torment,
and would be released only if Samhain was pleased with their sacrifices.

Irish records tell of the fascination the Catholic monks had with the powerful Druids, and
Druids soon became important members of their monasteries. Pope Gregory the Great
decided to bring the Druids' holiday into the church.
Pope Gregory III moved the church festival of October 31st to November 1st and called it All
Hallows or All Saints' Day. Pope Gregory IV decreed that the day was to be kept by the
church. The term Halloween comes from All Hallows Eve.

The founding fathers of America refused to permit the holiday; because they knew it was a
pagan holiday. Halloween was not widely celebrated in the U.S. until about 1900. In the
1840's there was a terrible potato famine in Ireland which sent thousands of Catholic Irish to
America. They brought Halloween with them.

The modern custom of going from door to door asking for candy goes back to the time of the
Druids. They believed that sinful, lost souls were released upon the earth by Samhain for
one night on October 31st while they awaited their judgment. They were thought to come to
the houses of the living. People greatly feared these spirits and thought that the spirits would
harm and even kill them if the sacrifices they gave did not appease Samhain. They carved
demonic faces into pumpkins or large turnips, placing a candle in them to keep the evil spirits
away from their homes.

Yet such teachings did not help the people. Throughout Europe, on this one night of the year,
it soon seemed as if all the devils came out! Indeed, that was the hidden meaning of
Halloween, and the wild excitement and orgies of the people on that night seemed to fulfill it.
We are seeing more and more attention paid to this holiday every year. Why? Because
people are moving further away from God and His Holy Spirit is being withdrawn from the
earth. They fool themselves into thinking they can be saved by Jesus and yet celebrate with
the devil! We either are 100% the Lord’s, or we aren’t His at all.

The Druids believed that on Halloween, ghosts, spirits, fairies, witches, and elves came out
to harm people. These evil creatures must be placated with offerings of food. The Celts
would go with their children to one another’s house to gather food for the devil gods. This is
the most dangerous "holiday" in the year. For long ages, Halloween has been a night
especially dedicated to satanic agencies.

Every October 31 we see the clearest evidence of that fact. Vandalism on a major scale now
plagues our cities on that night. A few years ago, Detroit alone experienced three days of
riots, arson, and mass destruction. For three days children and adults seemed possessed,
and the city seemed out of control.

Should we today celebrate this pagan night, which every witch, clairvoyant, wizard, and spirit
medium will tell you is the outstanding occult night in the year? It may seem like fun and
games. You may be saying now, but we do not worship the devil and I see nothing wrong
with it.

Well, don’t forget that it is still "Satan’s Holiday." Even if you are not ‘serious’ about it, Satan
is! And He plays for keeps. If we take part in something that is Satan’s, the holy angels
cannot protect us, and he can take over our lives. If we take part in a Satanic holiday, we
ARE WORSHIPPING SATAN whether we think so or not!!

Few people realize how very dangerous it is to dabble in spiritualism. It may seem like
innocent fun, but is it? Lets look at what God’s Word says about it:
"When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn
to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one
that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an
observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar
spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto
the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from
before thee." Deuteronomy 18:9-12

The widespread problem of harmful substances such as razor blades, drugs, poisons,
needles, etc. being placed in the Halloween treats is no accident. Testimonies of several ex-
Satanists show that children killed and injured by the "treats" are sacrifices to Satan (or
Samhain). Satanists throughout the world continue to perform human sacrifices on
Halloween. Also many pets are tortured and killed, it is too horrible to even write about!

Is this something you want to participate in?

I am going to be honest with you about this. If you really have given your heart to Jesus and
want to be in heaven with Him and the holy angels, how can you still want and enjoy the
things of the devil, which represent death and destruction? Stop and look at the kind of
things done on Halloween, it all glorifies death and ugliness. Satan is the source of these
things. Think of some of the horrible masks used on this night- would you want to really look
like that? Just follow Satan and you will end up like that. Do you really want to be dead?
Death and misery is all Satan will ever bring to his followers.

Jesus represents Life and beauty, goodness and happiness. Satan only brings to us death,
fear, pain and misery. Is it really fun to be scared? No, the Bible says ‘Fear hath torment’.
1John 4:18. Dear readers, if Halloween still has any influence in your life, pray for
forgiveness and ask Jesus to help you to see it as He sees it. The true Christian will hate
every thing to do with this evil holiday! =^..^=

An Indiana family upset by an anti-Halloween church flier filed a complaint with police.

Dalene Gully of Ellettsville told Indianapolis television station WRTV-TV she was
offended by the flier placed outside her home by the House of Prayer Church of
Bloomington.

"I started reading it, and I was very, very upset by it. I found it very accusatory and very
threatening," Gully said.

The church's pastor, Larry Mitchell, said the church did not intend toupset the family but
sought to warn people that Halloween is not harmless fun.

"Halloween is not fantasy," Mitchell told WRTV. "We're training up our children, and
obviously this lady was trained up in this. Halloween seems like it is taking just as much
prominence as Christmas."

The family filed a complaint with the Ellettsville Police Department, but Mitchell said he
would have preferred they come to him first.

Gully said the incident prompted them to install an alarm system.

"This is my home, and I like Halloween," she said. "If I want to decorate my home, I have
every right to decorate my home."

THE BIBLE and HALLOWEEN

“Test all things; hold fast to what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.” 1
Thessalonians 5:21 – 22
author unknown

A Celebration of Evil
Halloween is a religious day, but it is not Christian. Tom Sanguinet, a former high priest in
Wicca has said: “The modern holiday that we call Halloween has its origins in the full moon
closest to November 1, the witches’ new year. It is a time when the spirits (demons) are
supposed to be at their peak power and revisiting planet earth… Halloween is purely and
absolutely evil, and there is nothing we ever have, or will do, that would make it acceptable
to the Lord Jesus.”
Day of Death
Halloween has strong roots in paganism and witchcraft. It began as the Druid festival of
Samhain. The Celts considered November 1st the day of death, because, in the Northern
hemisphere, this was the beginning of winter, the leaves were falling, it was getting darker
earlier, and temperatures were dropping. They believed that their sun god was losing
strength and Samhain, the lord of death, was overpowering the sun god. The druids also
taught that on 31 October, on the eve of the feast, Samhain assembled the spirits of all who
had died during the previous year to return to their former home to visit the living.
Human and Animal Sacrifices
On Halloween, for thousands of years, druid priests have conducted diabolical worship
ceremonies in which cats, horses, sheep, oxen, human beings and other offerings were
rounded up, stuffed into wicca cages and burned to death. These human and animal
sacrifices were apparently required to appease Samhain and keep the spirits from harming
them.
Trick or Treat
To obtain these sacrifices, druid priests would go from house to house asking for fatted
calves, black sheep and human beings. Those who gave were promised prosperity, and
those who refused to give were threatened and cursed. This is the origin of “trick or treat.”
Jack-O-Lantern
The Jack-O-Lantern has its origin in the candle-lit pumpkin or skull, which served as a signal
to mark those farms and homes that supported the druids’ religion, and thus were seeking
the “treat” when the terror of Halloween began. The World Book Encyclopedia says: “The
apparently harmless lighted pumpkin face of the Jack-O-Lantern is an ancient symbol of a
damned soul.”
Dance of Death
While people and animals were screaming in agony, being burnt to death, the druids and
their followers would dress in costumes made of animal skins and heads. They would
dance, chant and jump through the flames in the hope of warding off evil spirits.
House of Horrors
One of the popular heroes of Halloween, Count Dracula, was also a real person. Dracula
lived from 1431 to 1476. During his six year reign, Count Dracula massacred over 100,000
men, women and children in the most hideous ways. He devised a plan to rid his country of
the burden of beggars, the handicapped, the sick and the aged by inviting them to a feast at
one of his palaces. He fed them well and got them drunk. Then he asked them: “Do you
want to be without cares, lacking nothing in the world?” When his guests yelled: “Yes!”
Dracula ordered the palace boarded up and set on fire. No one escaped this original
“house of horror.”
The Word of God
“When you come into the land, which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not
learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among
you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who
practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or
one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.
For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these
abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you. You shall be
blameless before the Lord your God, for these nations which you will dispossess,
listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you the Lord your God has not
appointed such for you.” Deuteronomy 18:9 – 14
“… teach my people the difference between the holy and the unholy, and cause them
to discern between the unclean and the clean.” Ezekiel 44:23
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected
knowledge, I will also reject you from being priests for Me; because you have
forgotten the Law of your God, I will also forget your children.” Hosea 4:6
“Train up a child in the way he should go, then when he is old he will not depart from
it.” Proverbs 22:6
“That whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be
better for him if a millstone was hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the
depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come,
but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!” Matthew 18: 6 – 7
“Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.” Romans
12:9
“Therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the Armour of
Light.” Romans 13:12
“You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of
the Lord’s Table and of the table of demons.” 1 Corinthians 10:21
“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has
righteousness with lawlessness? What communion has light with darkness? And
what accord has Christ with Belial? For what part has a believer with an unbeliever?
And what agreement has the of with idols?… Therefore, come out from among them
and be separate says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean and I will receive you.”
2 Corinthians 6:14 – 17
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather expose
them.” Ephesians 5:11
“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever
things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things
are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy –
meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8
“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the Faith,
giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies and
hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron.” 1 Timothy 4:1 – 2
“Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7
“Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and
widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” James 1:27
“Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God,
but he who does evil has not seen God.” 3 John 11
Participating in Paganism
Instead of participating in paganism, walking with Wicca, being in harmony with Halloween,
having our children celebrate cruelty, and dabbling in a day of death, we should focus our
family and congregation on celebrating Reformation Day this 31 October.
Reformation Day Vs Halloween
It was on 31 October 1517, that Dr. Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses on the door of the
Slosskirche (castle church) in , . His bold challenge against the unBiblical practices of the
medieval Roman papacy inspired the Protestant Reformation. All Bible believing churches
should celebrate the greatest revival of Faith and freedom ever. The Reformation was one
the most important turning points in world history. The energies that were released by the
rediscovery of the Bible in the common tongue led to the most extraordinary spiritual Revival
in history. The Reformation freed the Christians of Northern Europe from the decadence of
Renaissance paganism and led to the greatest freedoms and scientific discoveries in history.
Every Bible believing Christian should celebrate the Reformation. No Christian should have
part in celebrating the occultic Halloween.
We are in a spiritual world war. Cruelty to animals, vandalism and even murders occur with
far greater frequency during Halloween. Every Halloween many thousands of animals, and
even people, are sacrificed in satanic rituals worldwide, while millions of other people,
including well meaning Christians, participate in Halloween celebrations. Halloween is a
prime recruiting time for witches and Satanists. Many people have testified that they were
introduced to the occult at a Halloween party. Halloween is very religious, but it is not
Christian.
“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:21
Choose Life
This 31 October, take a stand against Halloween by mobilising your family and congregation
to celebrate the Reformation, and to engage in spiritual warfare, earnest prayer, praying the
Psalms, and sharing the Gospel with our friends and neighbours, particularly those who may
be unthinkingly participating in this occultic celebration of divination, necromancy, human
sacrifice and cruelty to animals.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the
whole Armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of
wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole Armour of God, that
you may be able to stand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand
therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the Breastplate of
Righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of
Peace. Above all, taking the Shield of Faith with which you will be able to quench all
the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of
the Spirit, which is the Word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication
in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all
the saints.” Ephesians 6:10 – 18
