Report Cadcam

This document provides an overview of CAD/CAM software and its functions. CAD is used for design and documentation, while CAM generates tool paths from CAD models to drive CNC machines. CAE tools support simulation, validation and optimization during the design process. The objectives are to understand CAD/CAM functions, learn how to use Inventor software and simulations, and understand required tools and equipment. The conclusion discusses creating 2D drawings and machining operations in Inventor, and understanding post-processing to generate programs.

DJJ5032 REPORT CADCAM

1. TITLE :

 Create Part Modelling, Simulated Machining Process and

Generate NC codes by using CAD/CAM Software

2. OBJECTIVES :

a) To understand the function of CAD/CAM .

b) To learn how to use software Inventer and simulation .

c) To learn the tool and equipment needed while operating
the machine.

3. INTRODUCTION :

CAD:
CAD is the use of computer technology for design and design
documentation. CAD/CAM applications are used to both design a
product and program manufacturing processes, specifically, CNC
machining.

CAM:
CAM software uses the models and assemblies created in CAD
software to generate tool paths that drive the machines that turn
the design into physical parts. CAD/CAM software is most often
used for machining of prototypes and finished parts.

CAE:
Software tools that have been developed to support these
activities are considered CAE tools. CAE tools are being
used, for example, to analyse the robustness and
performance of components and assemblies. The term
encompasses simulation, validation, and optimization of
product and manufacturing tools. In the future, CAE
systems will be major providers of help support design
teams in decision making.

4. EQUIPEMENT:

 PC
 SOFTWARE

5. PROJECT DRAWING
6. SETUP SHEET
7. CONCLUSION :

For the conclusion this lab report CAD/CAM, student

will able to create 2D geometric drawings using Inventer
software. They will be apply machining parameter in machining
operation for pocketing, facing, contouring, and drilling. By
using CAD/CAM srudent can create, preview and editing a tool
path. They also can simulate the tool path and opration. Other
than that, student can understand the function of operation
manager and post-processing to generate NX 8.0 program.
At industrial side, student will able to satify the employee
with the skill about conducting CAD/CAM machine. Student
will be able to study the software with a good condition and my
opinion there are recommendation needs to improves because all
machine or pc is well in maintanence although student is very
confort to study.
8. DISCUSSION :

Along doing this project of CAD CAM we had know that

the process cadcam where devide by two part. One part of Cad
that we had build the project based on the engineering drawing
the become then the other part were Cad that to create the tool
and the prosess to make the project become the product.
