Emcee 1: Ladies and gentlemen, get ready, as the concert will commence in 5 minutes.
Concert Proper
Emcees: Live from the Batangas State University Main Campus II, Alangilan Campus, good
afternoon everyone, as we welcome the concert that will amplify…. We are your hosts,
Emcee 1: *name*

Emcees: And this is, EIMvasion 3: Distorting Stress, Electrifying Music.
Emcee 1: But before everything else, especially for the surprises and performances that awaits
for us tonight, we would like to start this program with the invocation, to be led by Ms. Rizelle
Fajilan, followed by the National Anthem. Please all rise.
*Invocation and National Anthem*
Emcee 2: What’s up people? Are you ready as we rock and amplify your world today?
Emcee 3: Wow, I can’t believe the line-up that we have for today. Starting with the performances
from the bands of our own department today as we gear up to our contest, and probably a lot
more, don’t you think *Emcee 1*?
Emcee 1: That’s right, but you know, that’s not what’s in store for this event, as we also have
special performances from our very own faculty and our beloved students from the EIM
Department!
Emcee 2: EIM, let’s make some noise!
Emcee 3: Now, hold it all down, we are pleased to introduce to you for our opening remarks, our
very own, Engr. JC Aggari. Let’s give him a round of applause!
*Opening Remarks*
Emcee 1: Thank you very much, Mr. Aggari, for that very wonderful message.
Emcee 2: EIM! Let’s hear the screams and excitement of each department that we have here,
shall we?
Emcee 3: Starting off, let’s hear it for the Electronics and Communications Department!
Emcee 1: How about, the Instrumentation and Control Engineering Department!
Emcee 2: Last but not the least, let’s give it up for MExE!
Emcee 3: And of course, this event would not be possible if it wasn’t for our beloved faculty
members. We would like to express our deepest gratitude and of course, we hope that all of you,
will enjoy the show.
Emcee 1: Wow. I can’t believe we are on our third EIMvasion event. Time flies so fast, right
*Emcee 2?*
Emcee 2: That’s right *Emcee 1*. To be honest, in ways that words alone cannot express, this
event has the power to unite us into one and can evoke us to express our own selves into music,
don’t you think?
Emcee 3: Yes, and this year, our tradition just spiced things up, especially we have the battle of
the bands and not only that, we also have a songwriting competition.
Emcee 1: But what does it take for a band to win this competition?
Emcee 2: That’s right, *Emcee 1*, so now, we would like to introduce to you to the judges that
will determine the winners for this competition, and also the criteria for judging.
Emcee 1: *Judge Description*, please welcome, *Judge 1*
Emcee 2: *Judge Description*, let’s give a round of applause for, *Judge 2*
Emcee 3: *Judge Description*, now, let’s welcome, *Judge 3*
Emcees: Now, let’s move on to the criteria for judging.

GUIDELINES & MECHANICS:

1. Open to all ECE/ICE/MEXE students. It can be a collaboration between EIM students.


2. Members for the band should consist of a group with 4-8 members.
3. The band will perform 2 songs throughout the competition. One song will be an OPM song and
the other song will be either an original song composition in relation to EIM or another song of
choice.
4. There will be maximum of 10 contestants.
5. Deadline of submission of entries will be one week before the actual event.
6. Allotted time for each act is 12 minutes including set-up and sound check. 1 minute beyond the
allotted time would mean a 5-point deduction from the final score.
7. The set that will be performed by the band should contain no vulgarities, profanities, sexual
content, etc.
8. Bring your own musical instrument. The drum set is provided on the competition.
9. The composer is not necessary a band member, as long as he/she is a bonafide member of EIM.
10. The band will be judged based on the following criteria.

CRITERIA FOR SONG COMPOSITION:

- Song Structure and Composition -------------- 30%


- Originality ------------------------------------------- 25%
- Musicality -------------------------------------------- 25%
- Technical Proficiency ----------------------------- 15%
- Audience impact ------------------------------------ 5%
TOTAL----------------------------------------------------100%

11. Attire: Any as long as it follows the school guidelines and regulations.
12. Cash Prizes will be given for the Band Winners as follow.
 Champion - P1,500.00
 1st Runner Up – P1,000.00
 2nd Runner Up – P500.00
 Best Song Composition (only applies to the band with an original song) – P1,500
13. The winner’s composed song will be the official theme song of EIM Department.
14. The verdict of the Board of Judges are final and irrevocable.

Emcee 1: I think it’s all crystal clear now, but I don’t think our audience are ready for this
spectacular of a show. Are you guys ready?
Emcee 2: I don’t think I can hear them right. I need your energy as loud as ever? ARE YOU
READY FOR IT?
Emcee 3: Well, I think we’re here to bear witness to our dear contestants and I’m excited to see
the performances and pieces that they have for us. Are you guys excited too?
Emcee 1: Well, I guess we’re all set then. So sit back, and listen, as we dive through the
harmonies, intertwining words of composition, a variety of emotions that will be conveyed not
only through the voices and tones, but to witness a whole spectrum of emotions and excitement
as music unites us as one and this, is,

Emcee 3: I couldn’t agree more, *Emcee 2*. But wait. I think we have a lot of surprises up our
sleeves, don’t we?
Emcee 1: Oh, I remember now. Should we say it now, *Emcee 2*?
Emcee 2: Of course, if we have a band that is composed of students from EIM, why don’t we
have a little taste of intermission number, from our EIM Faculty as well?
Emcee 3: That’s right, are you guys ready for our EIM Faculty Band?
Emcees: Let us all welcome, the EIM Faculty Band!

Emcee 1: Well, we’re just getting started!
Emcee 2: Of course, *Emcee 2*. But I wonder what the other bands will bring us to this very
stage, and we shall see, how they’ll bring the show to life. *Group description* Now, let’s

Emcee 3: That was a spectacular performance, right *Emcee 1*?
Emcee 1: Well, I must say that it’s going to be a head to head battle for our contestants! But, of
course, it’s not only the bands or our contestants that will showcase their own talents, but also, I
believe, our very own students, have their talents as well.
Emcee 2: And I think it would be great if we’ll hear it first from the ECE Department. Now, let
us all welcome an intermission number from the Electronics and Communications Engineering
Department!
