Executive Summary

Kakaibread, irresistible and affordable bread is not just ordinary bread that we all
know. It is an extraordinary bread, from the word itself "KAKAI-bread". It is bread that
will satisfy your cravings and empty stomach. Since we are just starting to have our own
business, we think of a something that will not just give the customers a single product
but an all-in-one product. We conducted different researches regarding bread and we
discovered the one that Mang Tinapay is offering, bread with scrambled egg and bell
pepper at the middle. Tibiao Bakery also offers bread with sunny side up at the middle.
With these, we are inspired to make simple bread into a "kakaiba"/unique one. The thing
that keeps us on top of Mang Tinapay and Tibiao Bakery is that we just not offer this
kind of bread because we have a lot of mixtures so customers can choose what option
they want. We have egg with hotdog, egg with meatloaf and egg with corned beef. We
chose a square shaped packaging since according to our research, square shape packaging
is the most effective one since it save storage spaces and it is convenient. We put it in a
transparent one so that customers will buy it not because of its picture that might lead to
deceptive advertisement. Customers will be attracted to its real physical appearance. It is
also covered so the product will be safe and dirt-free. We are really proud that we come
up with this product. We have with a healthy product in this world full of unhealthy one
and a all-in-one product that will not cost a fortune.

The Kakaibread is dedicated to provide high quality of bread that will satisfy the
needs of the customers. It ensures the food safety to assure the health of an individual. It
aims to be known as an all in one snack that will make your empty tummy happy. The
Kakaibread shall be the best bread in the country. A bread that will be known also
internationally. The product that will be famous for its quality and taste. The product is
bread in which the middle will be sliced in a square like manner creating a hole. The loaf
will be tastier and irresistible to eat. The hole will be filled with egg and a combination of
various food mixtures such as hotdog, meat loaf, and corned beef. It is a complete
package which will be best to consume anytime of the day. It is an all in one product that
will satisfy your cravings as well as your empty stomach.

The strengths of the business is that the company's workers are the owners as
well. It means the taste and the quality of the product will be maintains. The owners as
the workers also mean less expense. However, the weakness would be is that if the
owners will get tired, there would be no substitute workers do continue the operation. The
suppliers are located in Laserna St., Kalibo, Aklan. Beside ACC Main. It is the place
where the owners will by their ingredients and equipment for the business. The place of
the supplier is our strength for they offer cheap prices that would be beneficial for the
business. The business also has weakness related to the suppliers because if the place

doesn't have a stock it should affect the quantity to be produced. Strength of the business
is the customer. Most of the customers are willing to try the product and love the
mixtures of the bread with egg. Aside from that they are willing to pay the price that we
set which is Php15.00.

It is an all in one meal with various food mixtures. Customers will just have to do
the choosing part on what they prefer to eat. In terms of pricing strategy, the mark-up is
50% which means the business will surely gain profit half of the variable cost per unit. It
will be applied throughout the business operations to fastly recover the expenses or the
efforts exerted to produce the product. Second pricing strategy to be uses us the
promotional pricing. This will be used when there will be a new product offer or an
innovation of the existing product to introduce in the market. This is the best strategy to
encourage the potential customers to try the product. When they tried the product, there
could be a possibility that they are going to purchase repeatedly. Since we are in the
millennial and technological world, the owners will adapt the alternative media and
techniques in advertising. First is through social networking sites. The product will easily
be known because there are millions and billions of people who uses different social
networking sites such Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other. Here, anyone could see
the product and may be interested to it. Next way that business is going to do in order to
make it more visible and present in the market is to create poster, leaflets, and signs.

The total expenses that we have for producing 44 Kakaibread costs Php 440.00.
Therefore, each product costs Php 10.00 and since we have 50% mark up, the total price
of our product Kakaibread is Php 15.00.

Business Description

Kakaibread, irresistible and affordable bread is not just ordinary bread that we all
know. It is an extraordinary bread, from the word itself "KAKAI-bread". It is bread that
will satisfy your cravings and empty stomach. Since we are just starting to have our own
business, we think of a something that will not just give the customers a single product
but an all-in-one product. As an individual, we use to have a hard time thinking what to
eat and what food will give satisfaction. We first think of a problem that most of us is
experiencing. As an individual, whether you are a worker or a student, we experienced to
skip meals because it is hard for us to manage our time especially when we have to finish
a lot of things. Most of the time, we used to skip meals and rush things since we have no
time thinking what to eat and spending much time in cooking. With these, we think of
something that will offer an all in one product. According to our research, bread is an
alternative for rice that satisfies an empty stomach. So we chose bread and made it an
extra ordinary one. We conducted different researches regarding bread and we discovered
the one that Mang Tinapay is offering, bread with scrambled egg and bell pepper at the
middle. Tibiao Bakery also offers bread with sunny side up at the middle. With these, we
are inspired to make simple bread into a "kakaiba"/unique one. The thing that keeps us on

because we have a lot of mixtures so customers can choose what option they want. We
have egg with hotdog, egg with meatloaf and egg with corned beef.

After thinking what product to produce, we then think of product's name that the
customers will surely remember. At first, we searched the Spanish name of bread and egg
and combined it so can have an elegant name but then, we changed our mind. If we
named into a Spanishword, people might not easily remember the product's name and it
will not catch the attention of some people who are not a fan of Spanish culture. Instead
of naming it in Spanish language, we chose a something that is unique and can be easily
remembered by Filipinos. We use to define unique as "Kakaiba" and we are offering
unique bread so we come up with "Kakaibread". We all agreed with this since it will be
pronounce easily and it will raise the curiosity of potential customers knowing that it is
"kakaiba". We then made our logo which is bread with a happy face. Since we offer
bread, it is our main character in our logo. We put a happy face on it since our tagline
says "Happy tummy with a yummy buddy". It will not just give you satisfaction but
happiness as well. It is all-in-one and affordable. We chose a square shaped packaging
since according to our research, square shape packaging is the most effective one since it
save storage spaces and it is convenient. We put it in a transparent one so that customers
will buy it not because of its picture that might lead to deceptive advertisement.

We chose to produce this product because as an individual, we use to have a hard

time thinking of something to eat. Therefore, through this product it could save time

CHAPTER II

PEST Analysis

Political

The political environment can impact business organizations in many ways. It

could add a risk factor and lead to a major loss. You should understand that the political
factors have the power to change results. It can also affect government policies at local to
federal level. Companies should be ready to deal with the local and international
outcomes of politics. Changes in the government policy make up the political factors.
The change can be economic, legal or social. It could also be a mix of these factors.

All businesses should comply with certain permits and should know the law
because it is important in each business. In Philippines, there are 5 permits need in
starting a business. These are Barangay Clearance, Mayor’s Permit, Tax Registration
Number, Special Permit and Social Security. Fail to comply with these will stop our
business operation.

We are also affected by the changes in tax of the products because the moment
that one of our ingredients increase price then the tendency is that Kakaibread will
increase its price as well. We also have to pay the tax of the business because it is one of
the responsibility of the owners.

We have also to observe the Republic Act No. 10611- an act to strengthen the
food safety regulatory system in the country to protect consumer health. With this, we
can now maintain the cleanliness of the operating area and the product itself for the safety
of consumer and for us to prevent cases regarding this act.

The political environment can impact business organizations in many ways. It

could add a risk factor and lead to a major loss. We should understand that the political
factors have the power to change results in our business.

Economic

Starting March 2018, Philippine Statistics Authority decided to rebase CPI series
to 2012 from 2006 in order to accommodate the economic changes in the country. Under
the new index, consumer prices rose by 3.9 percent year-on-year in February of 2018,
after a 3.4 percent rise in a month earlier. It was the highest inflation rate since September
2014, as cost rose faster for food continued to increase. A higher inflation rate means that
there is an increase in the prices of products and eggs, breads, meatloaf, hotdog, corned
beef. Our main ingredients are no exception to the rise of consumer price. Even the
Archbishop Gabriel M. Reyes Street
Kalibo, Aklan, Philippines
Aklan Catholic College

gasoline or gas, which is basically used for cooking, has an increased in price wherein it
could greatly affect the business.

With that, as the prices of our raw materials varies, there will be a chance
that the price of our product will change as well. As prices of raw materials increase, the
price of Kakaibread increase too and as the price of raw materials decrease, Kakaibread’
price will decrease as well.

Social

As the world changes so as human preference and we have to adapt the changes
of their preference in order for us to produce products that are in needs and in trends for
the potential customers. Humans always want something new. Every generation there is a
social trend which changes the preference of the society. Through clothing line,
technology and food. As years pass by, food industries introduce different kinds of
delicacies, main dish, side dish, pastry and a lot more. Food was made from cooking
through fire and sticks to cooking stove. And so we would like to introduce a dish that
this generation will love where society will have something new in their table that will
make the culture of our generation that can change to a better, more attractive and more
delicious kind of bread throughout history of baking breads. Since it is a new kind of
delicacy, it will be effective in the food industry because the Filipinos are known as food
lovers. Filipinos love to try something new in their taste buds and our product is a new
level of food in their list.

Another sociocultural factor is the reigion. Different religions exist in Philippines

and there are those who don’t eat pork in accordance to their beliefs. Since our product is
flexible and we offer different mixtures- hotdog, cornedbeef, meatloaf, they have now
different options to choose from.

Technological

Small businesses rely on technology to help them operate on a daily basis. From
laptop, computers with Internet capabilities to printers, online file storage and Web-based
applications, technological advances impact small businesses across various industries.
Technology has the potential to affect small business. Since Kakaibread is a small
business, we are also affected by technological factors.

Technologies provide large impact by promoting our Kakaibread products and for
communication purposes. The influence of technology on advertising and marketing
allows advertisers to personalize their messages to consumers and to boost their activities
in promoting and advertising the product. While the Internet represents a fairly new
Archbishop Gabriel M. Reyes Street
Kalibo, Aklan, Philippines
Aklan Catholic College

medium for advertisers, it attracts a wide variety of industries by using advance

technology. E-mail and instant messenger tools paved the way for online sharing and
collaboration. With the ability to instantly connect, share information and get feedback,
e-mail and instant messenger are beneficial technological advantages for small
businesses. In starting up our business, we made a Facebook page in order for us to
introduce our products to the potential customers. According to Rappler, there are 47
million active users of Facebook in the Philippines as of 2018. With this, we will be
accessible for the potential customers even they are far from us and we are able to
respond from their questions and suggestions. Through social media, our commercial
could spread in a wider range without spending too much. We, as a marketers catch
consumer’s attention by satisfying their personal interests in creative and strategic
manner. We generally benefit from these unique capabilities of the Internet and Internet
technology. These capabilities are integral parts of the buyer-seller relationship.
Kakaibread business creates online stores to expand our visibility and reach target
markets beyond our neighborhoods and surrounding communities. But the only downside
of advertising online is slow connection or loss of internet connections and electricity
because orders will not be entertained immediately.

SWOT Analysis

Strengths and Weaknesses

The strengths of the business is that the company's workers are the owners as
well. It means the taste and the quality of the product will be maintains. The owners as
the workers also mean less expense. However, the weakness would be is that if the
owners will get tired, there would be no substitute workers do continue the operation. The
suppliers are located in Shopping. It is the place where the owners will by their
ingredients and equipment for the business. The place of the supplier is our strength for
they offer cheap prices that would be beneficial for the business. The business also have
weakness related to the suppliers because if the place doesn't have a stock it should affect
the quantity to be produced. Another strength of the business is the customer. Most of the
customers are willing to try the product and love the mixtures of the bread with egg.
Aside from that they are willing to pay the price that we set which is Php15.00. On the
other hand, there were few customers which are considered as weakness. Lastly, the
competition, there are 54 competitors and among them there are only 13 businesses that
offers the dame industry which are pastries related but only kakaibread offers a bread
with egg and food mixtures.

Opportunities and Threats

Opportunities Loads of people consume breads in daily basis. Customer will find
the product as a readily to eat meal that can surely satisfy one's tummy. This will be good
to people especially to those persons that are in a hurry that have no time to numerous
picking of what food, what viand to choose. Technological advancements that are being
brought about by some countries can really be an opportunity for the business. They can
be of immense help for the operation of the business. Facebook, for instance, made by the
infamous Mark Zuckerberg, is one of the major means of promoting the product and for
communication purposes. There are laptops, mobile phones or any gadget that the
business can use and we'll never know if there will be another invention that can exceed
those existing creations. Communicating through emails is very useful as well.

Threats are inevitable in a business or when starting a business. Threats are the
external factors wherein the company doesn't have a control over it. Such threat to our
business are those competitors that sell the same or with resemblance with the company's
product. For instance, the bread with egg that Mang Tinapay and Tibiao Bakery has to
offer. It somehow look like the Kakaibread so if there are these kind of competitors,
customers might not only go to our store because they have multiple choices or store to
consider when buying. With that, the business' profit and sales will be affected. Another
threat is a war against nature. Storms or typhoons can greatly affect one's business. If
there's this kind of natural disaster, Kakaibread store might have difficulties or worst,
stop its operation because floods might occur in the place. People also tend to be inside
their houses for safety so a certain question will arise-"Who will buy the product?" There
is only a little chance that someone will buy especially with those kinds of situations.
Customers also have their change of taste or their preferences. There will come a time
when they don’t want our product anymore and instead, look for another product that will
suit their arising cravings. Government policies can also be a major risk to the business

CHAPTER III

Market Analysis

Demographic

There are a number of demographics that can affect a business. Demographics are
various traits that can be used to determine product preferences or buying behaviors of
consumers. Most companies identify their key customers through these various traits.
They then target consumers with like characteristics in their advertisements and
promotions. Targeting consumers with similar demographic characteristics helps
maximize a company's sales and profits.

There are approximately 1000 college student in Aklan Catholic College- Main
Campus. As we have conducted survey, ages of collge students range from 17-22 years
old. 1% is 17 years old, 10% is 18 years old, 82% is 19 years old, 6% is 20 years old,
0.6% is 21 years old, 0.4% is 22 years old and the remaining 0.2% is 23 years old.

In terms of food interest, 32% is viand, 28% chose sweets, 31% chose snacks and
the remaining 9% is fruits and vegetables.

Kakaibread is part of snacks and viand as well. As we can see, 32% for viand and
31% for snacks which is a total of 63%. This will be an advantage of Kakaibread since
there is a high probability that the target market will purchase our product.

The company

The Kakaibread business doesn’t require large business size, capital, and
personnel since it only offers simple food. The size of the business is small for the
owners only have few financial funds. They can only support the business just enough for
the money they have. They only have 500 pesos to produce the product. The 500 pesos is
enough to buy the ingredients needed and to run the business. The product is bread with
an egg and different food mixtures such as hotdog, meatloaf, and corned beef. The
company is going to produce the product with different mixtures every day so that the
target market which is the senior high school can choose their desired food and can avail
the product.

The Kakaibread will not hire other personnel aside from the owners since it will
just be another expense for the business. The owners can handle the business because
they are the ones who innovate the product and they are the ones who truly know how to
make it. They are capable to produce it without a help from other people. There are 14
individuals behind this business and they are all active in contributing to the business.
Archbishop Gabriel M. Reyes Street
Kalibo, Aklan, Philippines
Aklan Catholic College

They are all aware to the right process and things to be done. They are all goal-oriented to
provide the product to the market. The production will be done in one of the owners’
house. Therefore, the company could save money for they do not have to rent a place.

CHAPTER V

Marketing and Sales Strategy

Product/service strategy

Differentiation seeks to have its superiority in terms of of product's features and

attributes different from other competitors. Other industry only offer customer plain
bread, some do offer bread with egg in the center but for ours, that makes it stand out, the
business has its various food or flavor mixtures that they can choose from. Unlike of that
of the competitors, customers will not have any choices of flavor of bread because they
only serve one. As we have searched about our rivals, they only offer bread with egg in
the center, which is very common. So to break the so called “commonness”, we present
our product that we think are new to the public. It is an all in one meal with various food
mixtures. Customers will just have to do the choosing part on what they prefer to eat.

Pricing strategy

Kakaibread is going to implement two pricing strategies. First is mark-up pricing.

It is the best strategy to assure that the business will earn profit from the operations. It is
effective to gain back the initial expenses that the business spent and to at least gain back
the capital. The owners brainstormed and came up with this computation

Variable Cost/Unit = Php 10.00

Desired Mark-up = 50%

Php 10.00 - Variable Cost/Unit

x 50 - Mark-up

—————

Php 5.00

+ Php 10.00

—————

Php 15.00 - Mark-up Price

Archbishop Gabriel M. Reyes Street
Kalibo, Aklan, Philippines
Aklan Catholic College

The mark-up is 50% which means the business will surely gain profit half of the
variable cost per unit. It will be applied throughout the business operations to fastly
recover the expenses or the efforts exerted to produce the product. Second pricing
strategy to be uses us the promotional pricing. This will be used when there will be a new
product offer or an innovation of the existing product to introduce in the market. This is
the best strategy to encourage the potential customers try the product. When the tried the
product, there could be a possibility that they are going to purchase repeatedly. Since this
is basically for promotion purposes, there will be a reduction in the selling price just like

Place Strategy

The place or our location is near the school and in front of Kalibo, Plaza. As we
have stated, our target market are the students and workers. We will make a website for
our business that will allow users to contact the store. Also, we will provide some poster
or flyers.

Process Strategy

The process in making our product is very easy but we can assure that it is a good
quality and satisfying. We are also on hand in making our product.

Advertising and promotions strategy

Kakaibread is under consumer promotions for it is intended for consumers. It is a

food which is already given that an individual is going to consume the product. It is going
to be promoted through advertising. Since we are in the millennial and technological
world, the owners will adapt the alternative media and techniques in advertising. First is

through social networking sites. The product will easily be known because there are
millions and billions of people who uses different social networking sites such Facebook,
twitter, instagram, and other. Here, anyone could see the product and may be interested to
it. Next way that business is going to do in order to make it more visible and present in
the market is to create poster, leaflets, and signs. According to Tolliday, posters provide a
logical and cost effective way of communicating to target market. He also stated that it
have the ability to stick in viewers mind. From the statement, it just shoes that posters can
really attract and has a power to make the customer curious about the product. Through
leaflets, people can review the product and it captivates the eyes. Signs could be an
effective way to persuade an individual to go to the shop and see the physical product. As
time goes by, the business is planning to have online ads. Aside from the low cozy, we
really can't deny the fact that internet already embraced the society. According to Internet
Live Stated, there are 44,478,808 internet users in the Philippines in year 2016. From that
number of 2016, it is possible that this year it has increased already due to the fast
growing population of the country. In the same site, they stated that there are
3,424,971,237 internet users in the world. It depicts that Internet is part of our life and it
is the effective way to market and advertise the product. Lastly, the business plans to
create its own website. This is another way to have a stable site to showcase the business.
The business is going to update its social media accounts every week to keep it active and
present in social media world. The things that will be posted are commercial, promos,
images of the product and product reviews from consumers, motivational quotes with
attractive photos, and gimmicks. The main goal of each post is to persuade each
individual. The message to be executed is the product specification and its outstanding
feature. It is a product that will surely supply the empty tummy of the customer. We will
continually show to them that this is the best bread in town.
