 During this project, if there is a problem with one team member not completing his/her task,
please notify Dr Louise. In such cases, the non-performing team member will be required to
complete the task individually with no changes to the scope of the project

Project Requirements
For this project you will be recognizing the opportunity for a new product/service idea and compiling
a feasibility study analysis for that new idea in the form of a business plan

Project Requirements
 Each group is required to prepare a business plan with either one of the followings:
1) A social innovation that can assist POE in daily context or a social enterprise that has a
mission of delivering social good.
2) A sustainable social enterprise that could support government’s 6 pillars of The National
Policy for Empowering People of Determination (see https://www.government.ae/en/about-
the-uae/strategies-initiatives-and-awards/federal-governments-strategies-and-plans/the-
national-policy-for-empowering-people-with-special-needs )
 This social innovation/sustainable business plan for a new product/service/ business process must
bring measurable positive social benefit and value to the community of POE.

Project Deliverables
A Presentation (5%) of the marks

A written report not less than 1500 words equally distributed between each team member (10% 0f the
marks)

A Personal Reflection (5%) of the marks) 500 words

1. The Innovation and Creativity Feasibility Analysis
1.1 CEO EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
1.2 Names and expertise of team members
1.3 Product/service – what is your teams’ idea, and its social enterprise mission
statement.
1.4 Markets – a short summary of the market trends, customers and competition and
the social need identified by the team.
1.5 Investment – a summary of the financial needs and how the business is expected
to be funded.
1.6 Business model – way in which revenue is to be generated to support the social
objectives for example philanthropy or non-traditional philanthropy.
1.7 Clearly describe the product/service and its social benefits and competitive
advantage.
1.8 Indicate potential development of both the product/service and the overall
business.
1.9 MARKETING DIRECTOR SUMMARY will answer the following questions:
1.10 Is there a market for my business idea? How will you present the social need
in the best way to encourage people to buy?
1.11 What image is my business bringing to market
1.12 What is my competition?
1.13 Who are my target customers?
1.14 Why will they buy from me?
1.15 Can I justify my sales revenue? Sales projections - outline Target market and industry
analysis

a. Spelling errors and language errors must be checked
b. The plan must be saved as YOUR GROUP ID Business Name and submitted to Blackboard.
c. One hardcopy to be handed in class with the project cover sheet signed by all members.

Academic Honesty
As part of this project you will be required to gather information from various sources. Hence your
documentation will require the following sections:

References/Citation/Bibliography
Where you have used web content, images, templates in doing this project, then you must
acknowledge the source following a standard method of referencing that you have learnt. Use APA
style referencing.

Acknowledgement
Where you have interviewed key people in the organization to obtain information, they must be
acknowledged. Include name of person, organization and contact details.

Appendices
Include all supporting documents such as notes from interviews, pictures, questionnaires and survey
documents.

Safe Assign
Your report will be checked by Safe Assign upon submitting to Blackboard. Only ONE student in
your group/team should submit the assessment to Blackboard.
