Figure 8: Organizational Structure

Organizational structure is important for any growing company to provide clarity
on specific human resource issues, such as managerial authority. It provides guidance to
all employees by laying out the official reporting relationships that govern the workflow
of the company.
Teasoy Company is using a line type of structure. This is the most traditional of the
organizational structures that businesses use. Line organizational structure is the simplest
framework for the whole administrative organization. It approaches the vertical flow of the
relationship. The authority flows from the top to the bottom. It is also known as the chain
of command or scalar principle. This kind of organizational structure is good for the

62
company because there is a segregation of duties and responsibilities for effective and
efficient flow of work.
This type of organizational structure will help the company to be economical and
effective, for quick decision making and efficient coordination. In addition, in a line
organization, the responsibility for the performance of tasks is fixed upon definite
individuals. Therefore, there is an accountability of delegated tasks. There is an excellent
discipline in a line organization due to unified control and undivided loyalties which might
be necessary in an organization. One advantage is that the overall cost of running the
organization is low due to the non-involvement of staff personnel.
