NARRATIVE REPORt On Book Week
"Once you learn to read, you will be forever free", a very simple words but has a huge meaning. Thus,
Matalaba National High School celebrated a National Reading Month to remembered the importance of
reading. The said event conducted at Matalaba NHS Activity center, november 27 to 28 2019
spearheaded by Mrs. Amelia A. Moreno together with the helped of the PMT's and officers from
different organizations. The said program started with a prayer led by Ms. Ailene Regalado followed by
singing the Philippine National Anthem by Ms. Hannah Joy Perlas. Mrs. Amelia Moreno gave her opening
remark, afterwards Mrs. Emmalyn Pastrana introduced the guest speaker.Then, Mrs. Mary Jane Jao, the
guest speaker delivered her knowledgeabke message.
However, the program was done for 2 days, during the first day of the program, the students joined the
essay writing competition and poster making contest, while on the second day, the program begin with a
parade wherein students wear a costume of their chosen book character, after the parade the cosplay
competition for grade 7 - 9 students started, they presented a short play of their chosen story, it was
followed by the declamation composed of 2 category, the category A for grade 7-9 students and category
B for grade 10-12 students. After that, grade 10-12 students show their skills in singing on the jingle
contest. Before the announcement of the winner, the organizer of the event decided to do a free
pageant for Mr. Ambassador and Ms. Ambassadress.
And, finally the said program ended by giving awards and certificates to all the winners of the contest.
For the essay writing competition category A, the 2nd placer, Lorence Soto,1st placer, Yasmen Pizarra and
champion, Stephanie Revilloza, for category B, 2nd placer, Ram Andrei Palatino, 1st placer, Marisol Linga,
Champion, Michelle Red. In poster making contest Category A, Grade 8 Science Class is 2nd placer, Grade
8 Trustworthy is the 1st placer, and Grade 9 integrity is the champion, while in category B, Grade 11
Sacred is the 3rd placer, Grade 12 Generosity is the 2nd placer, and student from Grade 12 Humane is
the champion. For Declamation contest category A, 2nd placer is Jewel Paredes, 1st placer is Nicole
Reniedo and champion is Keren Kesia Regalado, in category B, 2nd placer is Ederlyn Velarde, 1st placer is
Argelyn Posas, and the champion is Rosebelle Monterozo. For the cosplay competition, Grade 9 integrity
is in the 2nd,Grade 7 Science Class got the first place and the champion is grade 9 science class. For the
jingle contest, Grade 12 Generousity and Hummae is in the 3rd place, Grade 10- Reverent is in the 2nd
place, and the champion is grade 12 compassionate. The program formally ended when they announced
that Mr Cromuel Ulit and Ms. Ailene Regalado got the title of Mr. And Ms. Reading Ambassador 2k19.
