We would like to express our deepest appreciation to all those who

provided us the possibility to complete this service learning of us. To Mrs.
Melanie Joy Barrera, MBA our instructor in this subject, whose contribution
in giving us tips and encouragement, helped us to coordinate our project
especially in writing and interviewing this service learning and invested her
full effort in guiding the team in achieving the goal. We are so very thankful
that you are always here to guide us even though the lessons is difficult
sometimes. But you are always there to extend your efforts for us to learn
more.
To the barangay officials of Barangay Zone III who considerate and

accommodate our interview for the task performance. To the barangay captain
of the said place, a special thanks that in a busy schedule you grant our request
as an interviewee for our service learning.
A special thanks goes to our team mates who fully done and assemble
their parts and gave suggestions about the task “Service Learning”. Without
everyone’s effort it would be hard for everyone to accomplish this task given

Solid Waste Management

Goal # 15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of
terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat
desertification and halt and reverse land degradation and halt
biodiversity loss.
PROPOSAL AND SOLUTION: Improper Garbage Disposal
 Implement rules to those people who are

irresponsible of their garbage’s and to pay certain
amount of money or community service.
 Introduce R.A 9003 Ecological solid waste

management act of 2000 which states the proper
waste segregation at source and introduces 3r’s.
 Strengthen the collecting of garbage’s in every

households and conduct rigid Information
Education Campaign (IEC).
 Lastly, a symposium on the implementation of R.A

9003 and introduce the slogan “May Pera sa
Basura”

Health Issue
Goal # 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all
at all ages.
GOAL # 6: Ensure availability and sustainable management of
water and sanitation for all.
PROPOSALS and SUGGESTIONS: Schistosomiasis
 Initiate to hold a general assembly meeting in

order to disseminate information what is the
situation of the barangay and what are the simple
ways to prevent schistomiasis.
 Invite a knowledgeable person to speak on the

prevention of schistomiasis.
 Imposed proper sanitation and conduct general

cleaning two-three times in a week.
 Lastly, from the information gather in said events,

make a plan to prevent and diminish the health
issue which is schistomiasis in the Barangay.

GOAL # 1: End poverty in all its forms everywhere
SUGGESTIONS and PROPOSALS:
 Coordinate with line agencies and assist those job

seekers to have their jobs through a job fair.
 Support and introduce about Government

program like 4P’s, educational assistance and
scholarships.
 Lastly, conduct a symposium regarding on family

planning and introduce well the importance of
education to everyone which can help to reduce
poverty in the sense, if all the individual graduates
it has a possibility that can have jobs.
