III. Introduction

A programmable logic controller (PLC) is an industrial-grade digital computer designed to


perform control functions for industrial applications. The majority of PLCs today are modular,
allowing the user to add an assortment of functionality including discrete control, analog control,
PID control, position control, motor control, serial communication, and high-speed networking.
Compared to older technologies, the PLC is easier to troubleshoot, more reliable, more cost-
effective, and far more versatile.

Definitions

Zelio Logic

Zelio Logic is programmable using the Zelio Soft program or in Direct Entry Mode (Ladder
language). Zelio Soft allows you to program your software in FBD language or in Ladder
language. You must be connected to your PC in order to use the software program.

Parameters

LD mode: Ladder language

Ladder language (LD) is a graphic language. It can be used to transcribe relay diagrams,
and is suited to combined processing. It provides graphic symbols: contacts, coils, blocks.

FBD mode: Function Block Diagram mode

FBD mode allows graphic programming based on the use of predefined function blocks.
It offers a large range of functions: timer, counter, logic, etc.

IV. Output

The output for this activity is simply exploring on how to use the PLC Kit and the Zelio soft.
Output
Observation/Recommendation:

In this plc orientation, we able to handle both the PLC kit and software Zelio soft. The PLC kit is
was easy to handle since it does have few parts to remember like how many inputs and outputs, the power
source and the cable port to connect into the computer. Meanwhile in the software side, we able use it
well since only few parts were introduced like how to create a program by using the ladder diagram and
how to upload it in the PLC kit which were essential for the following activities. It is good to explore more
in the Zelio software because there are a lot of things to manipulate which are very useful when dealing
with complicated problems.

Conclusion:

In this activity, we able to accomplish the objectives that we have, to know and familiarize the PLC kit and
the software which is the Zelio soft. We able to manipulate it both the hardware and software. Both are
easy to use however the complicated one is how you apply it if there are given conditions and problem.
Also, the inputs and outputs are limited to four only so the best way to deal with this is that you have to
maximize the given input and output. Thus, this plc orientation helps us to understand what is really plc
and it will help us as we go on different activities.
