When I was a kid, me and my childhood playmates were used to play drama and imitate
those we see in televisions. But no one of us were aware who was the director or even the
scriptwriter. To make my point clear, the world of drama is not anymore new to me and I am
greatly sure most individual who have passed the stage of childhood also tried this stuff.
However, the play we presented last meeting is exceptionally a long way to what I
considered a play when I was a young. Considering that there is already a formal director that
was appointed. And that was me. I can say that being a director is not an easy job yet I can also
say it is fun because of the humorous qualities present in each of my team. Most suggestions
were downright risible. Every one was participating and helping. However, we only have got a
hard time in each practice that we were incomplete. Each is very important especially that we
were only seven in the group. Each one has a distinct role and character and there are times
that scarcity of roles will happen so some characters may have to be recurring to play another
role. I have noticed that once there is even only one absent in each rehearsal, it is already a big
factor that will drag the whole team down. I think absenteeism was the serious problem our
group had but their excuses are reasonable. It takes a lot of patience to be a director. As the
director, I am also mainly responsible in motivating everyone and corresponding well with
everyone, along with being a confident leader. Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
are vital to get the best out of my group. I must say i was lacking some or most of those
qualities mainly because of the undesirable result of our play. There were many scenes and
props we forgot to present on the final presentation. Also, if a movie usually isn't up to public
standards, the director usually get the blame. So, you really must have the motivation to do
well.
But no matter what the result was, I am very proud of my group. I am still so much
grateful with their cooperation and how they showed dedication to tell a good story. Although,
time and availability was not in our favor. We did our best no matter what. I have also noticed
that we were not rehearsing anymore for complianc e. We were starting to love and enjoy the glimpse
of drama world. They say, if you love your work, you will never work anymore. As the director, who plays
amateur play when still young, I can say I have already come a long way and a totally grown up lady.
The director plays an influential part in making the masterpiece. Along with directing, I have also
need to act in our play. Most people are under the impression that the director is the top dog
on set. However, this often isn't the case. While directing a movie or play can be tough, I
believe it is an important job in the ever-increasing entertainment industry.
