Introduction
BriefCam offers a modular software architecture and can be implemented to serve a range of deployment
scales and requirements. The solution’s distributed software architecture consists of a VS (Video Synopsis)
server, RS (Research Server) and a PS (Processing Server). The servers may be installed on either a
single machine or on multiple machines, depending on the expected system workloads.
Deployment Sizing Calculation Basics
BriefCam generally employs per-camera licensing, and hardware sizing is calculated according to the per
peak usage requirements. Concurrent real-time processing volumes and the number of hours of video
footage to be processed per hour determine the necessary computing power, whereas the expected
overall number of videos, as well as metadata and video asset retention periods, determine the required
storage space.

• GeForce GTX1080 8GB
• GeForce GTX1080Ti 11GB
Note: Intel, AMD or any other non-NVIDIA GPUs are not supported at this time.
BriefCam does not support using more than one type of GPU on the same machine.

High Target Load Hardware Recommendations
For high and very high capacity, BriefCam recommends using dedicated machines for key services, such
as the Rendering Service, Database Service, Storage as an NAS, Research Server and multiple Processing
Servers. The sizing will be determined on a case by case basis in collaboration with Support, Product
Management and R&D.
Other server vendors can also be selected as long as they have a GPU-enabled architecture, for
