External Id : It is used to maintain the uniqueness of a record.

Tabs:
Default on Tab setting :We can see tabs at the top and it should have atleast read permission
Default Off Tab Setting:We see tabs by using the + sign at the top
Tab hidden setting:We cannot see any tabs

When we have to give certain permission to a particular user then we go for permission sets.
The permission set should also belong to the same licence that you created .
We can only grant permission and we can’t take away any access.

OWD:
If I want to make sure that the records created by me should not be visible to others then we go for
organisational defaults.
Three diff options:
1.Public:Everyone will be able to see the records that we have created
2.Private:only you will be able to see the records u created
3.Read only
4.Private read and edit
Type sharing settings in quick find box and go to position object
Roles:
Roles come into picture when OWD is private
If we check Grant using hierarchies we can control by using roles
Workflows:
1.Send an update (field update)

3.Task creation(Whenever the task is assigned to a particular user you will get an email and to see
open tasks go to homepage)

We can use workflows along with approval process
Workflow does not need human interaction

Summary report: When grouping is involved that’s where we use summary report.we can do grouping only in row
wise .we don’t have row limit in summary report
Matrix: we can do grouping by rows and colums both .
Dashboards:
it can be build based on reports
Row limit gives top 10 or top 5 records
Scatter,guage and metric chart we cannot create even if we have row limit
Guage chart is used to measure the profit of your company
Picklist:
Field dependencies for picklist.
If we select one field we the field related to that field should be displayed
Lookup we can have 25 relationships on lookup and 2 for master.
Rollup relationships is present only on Master detail relationships.
Cross object formula: We can create a relationship
Many to Many Relations:
We need to create a junction object to have many to many relationship.
Junction object is an object which have two master detail relationships.
Sharing rules: when we want to share records between cross teams then we go for sharing rules
even when the owd is private and roles will work for one team
