To assess the financial performance of DDL beverage company over the past five years (2013 –
2018).

Objectives

1. To identify the profit/loss trends of DDL Beverage Company over the past five years, spanning
the period 2013 to 2018.

2. To discuss the effects of the financial performance of the Company on its labor force.

Background/Overview

Over the past four (4) years, from 2015 to present, many businessmen have been voicing their
concern over the supposed economic slowdown in the country. Many news articles have even
claimed that there are no signs of recovery from the slowdown 1, however, there are other news
entities that report the contrary2. Given the conflicting views and reports, it was decided to carry
out a research and analysis into the financial performance of a major beverage company within my
community, spanning a period of five years.
This particular business was selected since, recently, it was reported that they were expanding their
operations3 which may have a direct impact on the employment rate in the community. This topic
is of particular interest to me because it gives me insight into the performance of the economy of
the country and how this economic performance can affect employment.
