widening to four lane divided highway from Km 120+000 to Km 228+000 of NH-11 (Jaipur – Mahua
Section).

CHAPTER 1

PROJECT PARTICULARS
1.1 Background of the Project:-

The National Highway Authority of India sanctioned and taken up construction of National
Highway No-11 from Mahua to Jaipur. National Highway No-11, one of the major arterial
routes of the country, originates from Agra (U.P.), the famous tourist place, connecting NH-
2 & NH-3 and terminating of Bikaner Connecting NH-15 and NH-65 and in between it
crosses NH-11 A at Dausa, NH-8, NH-12 at Jaipur and NH-65 at Fetehpur Sekhawati
(Siker Dist). Project stretches are a part of highway from Km 120/000 at Mahua to Km
228/000 of Jaipur of NH-11. Connecting historical cities viz. Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur,
Fatehpur Sikari and Agra. Importance of the project stretch in current scenario has
increased as Jaipur is going to be major international airport and also India’s GDP and
foreign trade, particularly with gulf and European countries growing with good pace which
will thrust heavy freight traffic flow from harbors and ports (Gujrat) to destination in states
of UP, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam and Nepal etc. The total volume in PCU is 20500
averages on the section of Mahua – Jaipur.

Hence with an intention of construct existing 2-lane road and widening to 4-lane divided
highway of Mahua – Jaipur section of NH-11 from km 120.000 to 228.000, NHAI has
appointed M/s Intercontinental Consultant Technocrats Pvt. Ltd, New Delhi in association
with Shri Kushalsuri Engineer Services Pvt. Ltd and MC Consulting Engineers (P) Ltd. as
Independent Consultant for carrying out detailed engineering of the project and providing
project management consultancy during project implementation for project.

1.2 Project Cost:-

The project cost is Rs. 483 Crores

1.6 Description of Project Highway:-

1.6.1 Referencing system: The referencing Chainages with respect to the old chainage
with the Design chainage is provided in the Table 2.1 of the Schedule A of CA.
Subsequently NHAI has revised the Chainages after deleting the Chainages of the Agra
By-Pass. The new Chainages details are provided in Appendix-1.6

1.6.2 Land Details: The details of ROW is provided in Table- A-1 of Schedule A of CA

1.7 This report has been prepared on the completion of the four lane divided Highway of Jaipur-
Mahua Section of NH-11 (Km. 120 to Km. 229+100) on BOT Basis, by Independent
Consultant :- M/s Intercontinental Consultant Technocrats Pvt. Ltd. in association
with Shri. Kushalsuri Engineering Services Pvt. Ltd. and MC Consulting Engineers
(P) Ltd. This report should be read in conjunction with the Contract documents,
specifications and “As Built Drawings”.
