Lessons Learnt

This document discusses lessons learned from manufacturing problems at a company. It contains two examples: 1. A part with a tight tolerance of 24±0.25mm could not be achieved due to insufficient clearance between a holding pin and the part ID. The corrective action was to increase clearance. 2. A thin-walled part with runout and concentricity specs of 0.05mm and 0.1mm could not be held securely. An ID profile mandrel was used to distribute clamping pressure and achieve the tolerances. The lessons learned are to always provide sufficient clearance between mating parts, and use specialized fixtures like ID mandrels for thin-walled parts to distribute clamping
