I. Objectives
A. Activity
GUESS WHAT?
The teacher divides the class into two groups and provides strips of paper with pictures
laugh, mother, coffee, and talk on it. Each group must have one representative to act the
picture, the task is that the remaining members should guess the word acted by the
representative in front. The group that guesses the right words in a shortest time wins.
B. Analysis
The teacher asks the following guide questions:
1. What have you observe on the details of each picture?
2. What are the words/ phrases/ people or other things that caught your eyes on each
picture?
3. Why do you think these phrases/ words/ people are placed in the picture?
C. Abstraction
The teacher discusses the remaining four basic persuasive techniques.
The teacher provides example of Persuasion techniques used in an advertisement
which the students are familiar with.
D. Application
ENDORSE ME!
The teacher divides the class into four groups and presents two boxes. The first box
contains items or products and the second box contains techniques of persuasion.
Each group representative needs to choose an item and a persuasion technique in
each box. The task is to create a short advertisement using the assigned technique
from the chosen product. Each group is given five minutes to prepare for the
presentation.
IV. Evaluation
I. Directions: Identify the persuasive techniques described below.

themselves as regular person using the product than any intellectual or famous celebrity.
____________2. This technique grabs consumer’s attention and is considered as a
powerful technique because advertisers try to connect the good feeling when we laugh
to their product.
____________3. This technique is used when some people are testifying about the value
or quality of a product.
____________4. This techniques is used when the ads are full of intensifiers like
superlatives, comparatives and exaggerations.
____________5. The act of making people believe in something or in you.
