Recycling Showcase

OBJECTIVES  To activate learners’ interest on recycling to lessen the


garbage in the environment
 To produce something out of recyclable materials such as
plastic bottles, Styrofoam and tin cans.
 Showcase their creative and innovative skills in recycling.
No. Of Required 8 participants per division ( any grade level)

Composition 2 participants per recyclable material type
Needed Materials A. For Plastic Bottles :Plastics Bottles per category, Glue
Gun and Glue Sticks, Extension Cords, Pair of Scissors,
and abaca string
B. For Styrofoam: Styrofoam (used of leftovers), Glue gun
and glue sticks and other related materials
C. For Tin Cans: tin cans and other related materials.
Electrical connections(extension wires)
Weighing scale (for excess materials)
D. For Tarpaulin: Tarpaulin, scissors, glue, etc.
Duration of the 3 hours
Performance
Rules and Guidelines 1.The participants shall be grouped according to the type of
recyclable materials
2. Strictly NO COMMERCIAL PAINT allowed
3. Only the participants are allowed in the contest venue
4. Participants must maximize the use of recyclable materials.
The mass of leftover materials will be determined. The
following points will be deducted from the participants after the
time allotted:
10% of the mass left-over ------5 points
15% of the mass left-over ------ 7 points
20% of the mass left-over ------ 10 points
5. Participants must bring materials they will be using.
6. Pre-assembled accessories are not allowed.
7. The judge’s decision is final and irrevocable.
Criteria Creativity and Originality ------------------------------ 30%
Craftsmanship---------------------------------------------- 30%
Stability and Durability----------------------------------- 10%
Usefulness ------------------------------------------------- 30%
Total ---------------------------------------------------------- 100%
