CONSTRUCTION METHODOLOGY

Name of work: PROVIDING UNDER GROUND DRAINAGE SCHEME TO


DANDELI CITY.

Execution:

The work could be classified in to following main components


1. Sewer line & Rising main
2. House service connections
3. Manhole Chambers
4. Wet wells and pumphouse
5. 8 MLD SBR STP
6. 0.5MLD and 0.25MLD PHYTORID STP

Immediately after receipt of work order survey activities will commence. The design will be
submitted for approval. Consumer survey for house service connection shall be carried out as
per approved format. After the approval of design procurement of pipes, manhole frames, and
other materials will be done.
Five Teams will be deployed simultaneously at different locations for pipeline, manhole and
house connection works. Wet well work and STP works will be started simultaneously with a
different. Concrete shall be produced in a controlled environment either using self loading
mixer or batching plant.
All materials will be procured as per approved QAP after due inspection from third party
agency appointed by the client.
 Each team consists of:
 1 Engineer; 2 Supervisors
 1 Hitachi EX-70 or equivalent; 1 Tipper/Tractor
 8 Masons; 12 Helpers;
 4 Fitters; 10 Unskilled Labours

Safety:
Strict safety measures will be employed to avoid any accidents and damage to life or
property. All the workers will be provided with safety shoes and helmets. Special care will
be taken when working at heights. The workers will be provided will safety belts with ropes.
Safety at points of deep excavation will be ensured by way of suitable slope, shoring and
strutting. A safety supervisor will oversee and ensure the required safety level at site.

Quality control:
A quality control lab will be set up with necessary equipment headed by a quality control
engineer. Tests shall be conducted and recorded as per the specifications in the presence of
employer’s representative.

Labour welfare:
Proper and safe accommodation will be provided to the labours with all the basic amenities
like electricity, water supply, sanitation etc.
