NARRATIVE
During this period, our professor oriented us regarding all the requirements of our immersion. We
were given some insights on some establishments wherein we can have our immersion. We had
been endorsed as an observer-trainee in our chosen workplace, wherein we can practice our
specialization. We were also informed about our meetings, the scheduled meet-ups and the times
of no meeting, for us to be able to render the number of hours needed to complete the length of
training.
Being a Drafting major, I was endorsed to Maximo L. Gatlabayan Memorial National High School,
the workplace of my choice. The school is in need of artists to lead and work out all the art-related
activities, especially during programs and competitions.
I was able to comply with all the tasks assigned by the Principal, Mr. Esteban B. Casauay. I had
modified an instructional learning material, an Innovated Color Wheel with Color Harmony
Templates/ Stencils, which would be a school property to be utilized by the teachers in teaching
art-related subject areas. I also made a hand-painted lettering of Maximo hymn with the lyrics
personally composed by Mr. Esteban B. Casauay, the school principal.
With the timely on-going construction of one of the school building facilities, the existing site-
development plan which was drafted by me was in need to be updated. I accomplished the
necessary changes in the plan which was a requirement to be forwarded to the Division Office.
Along with that, the yearly event of the Division level TLE/TVL Festival of Talents made the
school very busy to prepare for the competition, especially the TLE/TVL Department. I was tasked
to be in-charged in the bazaar booth preparation together with all the teachers and students who
will work collaboratively. Being the head in-charged with the booth structure, our school being
the defending champion made me feel pressured and a little bit worried. But with the help and
support of the whole team, the preparation was made a success -- a road to Regional competition
preceded. I supervised the making of the booth frame, cabinets and organizers. I also led the
production of beaded peacock decors which was one of our bazaar products. The opportunity to
be the regional representative added more pressure to the whole team. Cliniquing was conducted
and the booth was needed to be redesigned and modified. I made several drafts and sketches and
presented it to the team consultant.
Thereafter, I’m pretty sure that I gained more knowledge and work experience again. Being a
professional doesn’t end in being liscensed. In the field of drafting, there are lots of skills needed
to be discovered, utilized, enhanced and practiced. Drafting is not an easy work, it’s very tiring
but it’s enjoyable. Every little opportunity that comes in our way, is a great opportunity to learn
and teach as well.
