NARRATIVE REPORT IN SIMULTANEOUS READING

Reading is one of the very important element of education. Understanding


what we are reading is a key and is certainly the main point of teaching reading in class.

Reading is a fundamental function in today’s society, it is a vital skill in finding


a good job and is impotant because it develops one’s mind. Reading is important because
words – spoken and written are the building blocks of life. You are now the result of words
that you learned as you read.

Today, November 27, 2018, the school conducted simultaneous reading to all
the students of Pandan Interated School. Advisers in every classroom were in –charged in
the reading activities of their students. In this activity , the teachers were able to identify the
particular domain which students failed to exhibit.

SciLINKS Human Hominid Ancestors pp. 4-7 was given as the reading
material of the Grade 10 students. The result of the reading shows that most of the Grade
10 students can read but have difficulty comprehending what they are reading. They could
not understand what they are reading unless they repeat to read the article. Some also are
slow readers compared to their age and grade level. Others can read but cannot recognized
pauses or periods. As a result, some of the Grade 10 students needs more reading practice
and remediation in order to overcome the said difficulties.

Reading habits of students should also be improved. Lesser time in the usage
of gadgets is advisable in order to focus their attention and interest in reading.

This activity enables teachers to assess how far their students have gone
through reading. Teachers were able to handle and adjust to different personalities,
characters in reading and comprehension level of students.
