Subordinate Courts lying in the areas in which Poll to be
held on the said dates - Orders issued.

The Tamil Nadu State Election Commission has notified the

schedule for the ordinary elections to Rural Local Bodies, 2019. The

1st phase of election is on 27.12.2019 (Friday) and the 2"d phase of

election is on 30.12.2019 (Monday) to all the Districts except Chennai,

Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Vellore, Ranipet, Thirupathur, Villupuram,

Kallakurichi, Tirunelveli and Tenkasi.

The Government of Tamil Nadu, vide G.O. second cited, have

stated that the Government have decided to declare the said days of poll

as Public Holidays under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act,

1881 (Central Act XXVI of 1881). All Government Offices including

industrial establishments of the Government and Government controlled

bodies and all educational institutions will remain closed on 27.12.2019 in

the areas where polling takes place in the first phase and on 30.12.2019 in

the areas where polling takes place in the second phase to all the

districts except Chennai, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Vellore, Ranipet,

Thirupathur, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Tirunelveli and Tenkasi.

Accordingly, the Government of Tamil Nadu have issued Notification, as

follows :

"Under the Explanation to Section 25 of the Negotiable

Instruments Act, 1881 (Central Act XXVI of 1881), read

with the Notification of the Government of India, Ministry of

Home Affairs, No.20-25-26, Public-I dated the r June,

1957, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby declares Friday

the 27h December 2019 and Monday, the 30th December

2019, the dates on which the poll for the ordinary election to

the rural local bodies 2019 will take place, to be Public

Holidays, in those areas wherever such poll takes place in all

the districts except Chennal; Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu,

Vellore, Ranipet, Thirupathur, Villupuram, Kallakurichi,

Tirunelveli and Tenkasil"

In view of the above, the Principal District Judges/District

Judges/District Judge -cum- Chief Judicial Magistrate, of all the

Districts in the State of Tamil Nadu except the Districts of Chennai,

Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Vellore, Ranipet, Thirupathur, Villupuram,

Kallakurichi, Tirunelveli and Tenkasi, are hereby authorised to declare

holiday on 27.12.2019 (Friday) only for the Courts which are lying in

the areas where polling takes place in the first phase i.e.on

27.12.2019 (Friday) and on 30.12.2019 (Monday) only for the Courts

which are lying in the areas where polling takes place in the second

phase i.e.on 30.12.2019 (Monday), for the ordinary election to the

Rural Local Bodies, 2019.

Commission, which has been published in the Tamil Nadu Government

Gazette, Extraordinary No.455, dated 09.12.2019 and 6.0. (Ms) No.184,

Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (PR.1) Department, dated

24.12.2019 are annexed herewith for reference.

The Tamil Nadu State Election Commission has notified the schedule for the
