Class Timetable for 2019-20-I Semester

Here are the salient features of the Slot System at IISER Bhopal, which was introduced for preparing the class timetable in order to make it more
systematic and streamlined:

• The entire working week is divided into slots and each slot consists of three 1-hour sessions as shown below.
• These slots are fixed and do not change every semester.
• No faculty can teach two courses in the same slot and no student can take two courses in the same slot.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS

Follow the procedure below to find your weekly class schedule.

1. Make a list of all the courses you are taking in the upcoming semester.
2. From page 2-3 of this PDF, find out the slots of all courses you are taking. Timings of labs and tutorials need to be noted separately.
3. On the printout of this page, write the course number and the assigned classroom below the respective slot.
a. Note that every slot is written 3 times in the above table in order to specify the timings of the three 1- hour sessions. So, write the
course number below each of these three 1-hour sessions for its assigned slot.
b. If you have registered for 2 courses that are in the same slot, you must drop one of these courses.
4. Strike out all the slots in which you don’t have any classes.
5. Your timetable is now ready!
