    1.0 PURPOSE

    The purpose of the Construction Vehicle permit is to ensure that adequate controls are

    followed when any construction vehicles are being used at construction site. The legal

    compliance of vehicle is covered there under.

    2.0 SCOPE

     All construction personnel and any contractor personnel are required to comply with this

    procedure.

     This procedure applies to all construction areas of the Factory.

     Britannia owned and managed construction project locations.

    3.0 DEFINITIONS

    Construction Vehicles Permit: Any Construction vehicles like Transit Mixer, Tractor, JCB,

    Excavator, Truck/Trailer, Crane, Farhana etc. must have the vehicle permit clearance to

    work at construction site. This permit will be used as authority of vehicle operation inside

    project in a certain period of time. For this clearance they have to submit/verified the legal

    and others supportive documents of vehicles.

    4.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

    4.1 Project Manager / Construction Manager

     Ensures full compliance with this procedure.

    4.2 EHS Officer/ Manger

     Complies with all the requirements of this permit.

     Confirms that vehicle is fully fit as per legal requirements after legal documents

    verification.

     Issues construction vehicle Permit.

    5.0 PROCEDURE

     Only trained and authorized employees should issue and receive the construction

    vehicle work Permit and their names should be listed along with the authorizations

    that they have been given.

     All the legal papers of vehicle shall be checked for the authentication like,

    1. RC Book / Registration paper

    2. Chassis number

    3. Driving License of Operator

    4. Insurance of the vehicle

    5. Tax Invoice

    6. Fitness certificates/ TPI Certificate

    7. PUC certificates.

     Date of expiry of above documents shall be cross verified.

     Only 3 month validity shall be given to the vehicles again recheck of same vehicle

    shall be done.

     If any above documents date is getting expires before three month period then one

    day short of expiry date up to authorization shall be given to vehicle.

     Physical verification as per checklist of vehicle shall be done then only this permit shall

    be given to the vehicle.

     Meanwhile valid date if any safety gaps observed it shall be cancelled immediately.

     Only safety manager/officer/Project manager are allowed to sign on the permit.

     Format of the permit is given in annexure -6.
