WHAT’S UP????
CCLEX BRIDGE

Among the infrastructure projects in Cebu the Cebu-Cordova Link Express (CCLEX), also
known as the 3rd Mactan Bridge, is probably what most Cebuanos are looking forward to. We
all know how traffic the current 2 bridges connecting Cebu to Mactan are and we desperately
need this 3rd bridge. This is a PHP 28B mega project and expected to generate 5,000 jobs
during its construction.
4TH CEBU-MACTAN BRIDGE

The Third Bridge: CCLEX and the Fourth Bridge: Mandaue-Mactan Bridge is set to
help traffic problems in Cebu. The cost of the fourth bridge is Php 3 Billion. CCLEX is
pegged at Php 22.6 Billion.
METRO CEBU EXPRESSWAY

This 18-Billion project is a 73.75 km highway with 2 km tunnel. It is divided into three
segments: Talisay-Cebu City-Mandaue (Segment 1), Consolacion-Liloan-Compostela-
Danao (Segment 2), and Naga-Minglanilla (Segment 3).

Target Completion Date: December 2022


CEBU CITY BRT OR BUS RAPID TRANSIT

The Cebu Bus Rapid Transit Project of the Philippines has an objective to improve the over-all performance
of the urban passenger transport system in the Project Corridor in Cebu City in terms of the quality and level of
service, safety, and environmental efficiency. The project consists of six components. The first component will
finance goods, works, and services for detailed design, construction and supervision of BRT infrastructure, and
corridor traffic management systems.
DOST HYBRID ROAD TRAIN

In addition to the BRT system, the Cebu City Transportation Office is also planning to implement the DOST
Hybrid Road Train. It is a 40 meter bus-like-train that can help with the city’s mass transit woes. This is also
a project of the Department of Science and Technology. DOST 7 Director Edilberto Paradela said that it’s
called the “Centrally-Powered Hybrid Electric Road Train” and the project is “Technology Promotion and
Field Testing of Hybrid Road Train in Cebu City.”
CEBU LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT

Cebu is also eyeing to implement the light rail transit system, better known as LRT. In short, adding
a train as a means of transportation. This is a proposed project to solve the traffic problems of the city.

Did you know that the Mactan Cebu International Airport is the best airport in the Philippines?
Now, they’re adding a new terminal to cater the growing needs of the airport. It is estimated the project
will be completed in 2018. Phase 1 of Terminal 2 will comprise of a 4.5 hectare development, Phase 2
will follow soon. Target Completion Date: July 2019
