Standing Committee on Professional Exchange (SCOPE) is the oldest standing


committee of IFMSA. Since established in 1951, in the same year IFMSA did, SCOPE has
worked to facilitate exchange for medical students around the world. Our own SCOPE
CIMSA was established in 2001 and under the leadership of the National Exchange Officers,
we are aiming to develop SCOPE to be the largest exchange program for medical students in
Indonesia. Today we facilitate around 200 medical students each year to go for their clinical
exchange.
In line with the definition of exchange, SCOPE exchange also works two ways – we
host the incomings and we also send our outgoing. Our ever-growing LCs host foreign
students and help them during their exchange; bring them to see the wonders of Indonesia
and help them through the administration procedures of their clerkship in the hospital, and
surely, be their friend and guide during their stay.
For the outgoings, we select Indonesian medical students who have both the strong
motivation and interest, also the needed abiliy, to taste the clinical experience abroad in
various countries. Surely, we also help them go through the administration and other
processes needed to go for exchange according to their countries and the regulations of
IFMSA and he host country. This is to ensure that their exchange will go smoothly and they
will get the most out of their exchange experience.
Surely, outgoings, first of all we would like to congratulate all of you for passing all of
the selection processes. This guideline was made to make all of the administration and
other processes needed to go for exchange more easier. Although the terms and conditions
on each countries are not always the same but we have tried to compare and synchronize it.
All in all, all of you already have a good opportunity in your life to make you being global,
not just around the world for buying good things. Make sure you prepared yourself for this.
