General Guidelines for the Candidates

• Candidates are advised to read the information booklet very carefully before filling up the
online application form.
• Candidates shall have to pay application and examination fee amounting to Rs. 2000/-
(Applicable for all categories) through NET banking/Credit card /Debit Card using online
gateway mode only. Bank charges, if any, are extra on this amount of Rs. 2000/-.
Cheque//Demand draft will not be accepted.
• All the original certificates and mark sheets must be brought by the candidate at the time
of counseling and prescribed fee has to be deposited at the time of allotment of the seat,
failing which the admission will be given to the next candidate in the merit.
• Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination on or before the date of
counseling for admission following Pre-PG Test 2019-2020.
• The examination will be held as per schedule given below:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The Indian national of Rajasthan domicile only will be eligible for
admission on state and payment seats for M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. degree
programmes.

Note :
The valid domicile certificate has to be produced by the candidate at
the time of counseling.

Academic eligibility for M.V.Sc. admission :

i. The candidate must have passed B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree examination with not less than
6.00/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage (i.e. 60%) of marks for general
category candidates and 5.50/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage (i.e. 55%) of
marks for OBC/SC/ST/MBC/EWS/PH/any other applicable category as per reservation
policy of Govt. of Rajasthan.
(ii) The following categories are exempted from appearing in Pre-PG Test for admission to
M.V.Sc.
a) ICAR nominee.
b) Candidates who have qualified for JRF of ICAR/foreign nationals sponsored by
ICAR/GOI.
c) Field extension functionaries deputed by Government of Rajasthan.
d) In-service candidates of RAJUVAS and/ or considered as “in the service of the
university” (RAJUVAS) by the university. However, they will be required to fulfill
academic qualifications.

Note:
The relevant certificates of eligibility of the candidate will have to be furnished by
the candidate at the time of counseling.

Academic eligibility for Ph.D. admission :
(i) The candidate must have passed Master’s degree in respective/related subjects with not
less than 6.50/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for general
category candidates and 6.0/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for
SC/ST/OBC/ MBC/EWS/PH/ any other applicable category as per reservation policy of
Govt. of Rajasthan.

For discipline of Animal Biotechnology, The candidate having degree of M.V.Sc. in


Veterinary Microbiology / Veterinary Biochemistry / Physiology and Biochemistry / Animal
Genetics and Breeding/Obstetrics and Gynecology/Animal Nutrition or M.Sc. / M.Tech in
Animal Biotechnology/Biotechnology will be eligible.
(ii) The following categories are exempted from appearing in Pre-PG Test for admission to
Ph.D.
a) ICAR nominee
b) Candidates who have qualified for SRF of ICAR/foreign nationals sponsored by
ICAR / GOI.
c) In-service candidates of RAJUVAS and/ or considered as “in the service of the
university” (RAJUVAS) by the university. However, they will be required to fulfill
academic qualifications for admission.

Note:
The relevant certificates of eligibility of the candidate will have to be furnished by

Note:
Admissions will be made subject to the availability of manpower and funds and as per
decision of the University at the time of admission. Therefore, seats can be increased or
decreased in any discipline subject to the decision of the University in this regard.
RESERVATION
(i) The reservation of seats for SC/ST/MBC/OBC/PH/EWS/any other applicable category
will be as per rules of Government of Rajasthan as applicable to Rajasthan University of
Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner
(ii) Reservation quota is determined on the basis of combined intake in all subjects
following the roster system of Government of Rajasthan.
(iii) For M.V.Sc. admission seat will be allotted on the basis of his/her order of choice and
position in the roster.
(iv) Incase of unavailability of candidates in particular category, reservation policy of
Government of Rajasthan will be followed.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION AND SYLLABUS

For M.V.Sc.
In the very nature of competitive examination no syllabus can be prescribed. It is an
exercise to pick up the best. However for guidance to the candidates, the Syllabus and the
Standard of the PRE-PG Test 2019-20 will be that of B.V.Sc. & A.H standard prescribed by
Veterinary Council of India and adopted by Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal
Sciences, Bikaner and the questions will almost equally be distributed throughout the
prescribed disciplines.

Note:
I. There may be slight modification in number of questions from a discipline by the paper
setter. Therefore, no grievance of candidates regarding this issue shall be entertained.
II. The question paper will consist of multiple-choice objective type questions.
III. The question paper will be in the form of a test booklet containing 100 questions bearing
number 1 to 100.
IV. There would be four suggested answers (A, B, C, D) to each question. The candidates
are required to choose and write the correct answer in the provided space.
V. The test booklet will be collected from the students at the end of the examination.
VI. One mark will be awarded for every correct answer.
VII. Merit of candidates will be notified on university website.

For Ph.D.
In the very nature of competitive examination no syllabus can be prescribed. However
for guidance to the candidates, the syllabus and the standard of the PRE-PG Test 2019-20
will be that of B.V.Sc. & A.H. standard prescribed by Veterinary Council of India (20%
weightage) and M.V.Sc. Standard prescribed by ICAR (80% weightage to respective
Discipline) adopted by Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner.

Note:
I. The Question paper will consist of multiple choice objective type questions.
II. The question paper will be in the form of a test booklet containing 100 questions. There
will be two sections (Section A & B). Section A (20% weightage) will have questions of
B.V.Sc. & A.H. standard and section B (80% weightage) will have questions of M.V.Sc.
standard of respective discipline.
III. There would be four suggested answers (A, B, C, D) to each question. The candidates
are required to choose and write the correct answer in the provided space.
IV. The test booklet will be collected from the students at the end of the examination.
V. One mark will be awarded for every correct answer.
VI. Merit of candidates will be notified on university website.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE GUIDANCE OF THE CANDIDATES

1. The examination will be held as per schedule given. The doors will be opened before the
commencement of the examination and will be closed immediately on start of examination.
No candidates shall be admitted to examination hall after 11.00 AM i.e. after
commencement of examination.
2. A seat marked with Roll Number will be allotted to each candidate. The candidate should
ensure that he / she occupies the allotted seat only. Any candidate discovered to have
occupied the seat of another candidate shall be turned out from the examination and also
have to accept any other penalty imposed on him/her by the center superintendent.
3. Candidates are required to bring their own ball point pens for answering their question
papers. They are not allowed to carry any textual material, written or printed, bits of
papers, photocopy of admit card, envelop or any other material except the original Admit
Card inside the examination hall. Cellular/mobile phone/calculator/slide rules/log
table/laptop or any other electronic gadgets etc. are strictly prohibited in the examination
hall. The candidates are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned items
to the venue of the examination as arrangement for their safe keeping cannot be assured.
4. Candidates should carefully read the instructions and the questions given in the question
paper booklet before they begin to write their answers.
5. The question paper will be set in English only.
6. No second question paper booklet shall be given.
7. Soon after the question paper booklet is given to the candidate, he/she should ensure
within 10 minutes of the issue of question paper booklet that it contains all the pages and
no question is missing. If there is any discrepancy, he/she should point it out at once to the
invigilator.
8. Before attempting the answers, the candidate shall write his/her roll number, date etc. at
the place provided for the purpose on the test-booklet. The candidate should choose and
write the correct answer in the space provided for the purpose in the booklet itself
otherwise his/her answer will not be evaluated.
9. The candidate should not write his/her name or mark any sign on any place in the test
booklet or answer sheet which may disclose his/her identity. Non-compliance of this rule
shall be punishable as per rules for unfair means.

10. No candidates shall leave his/her seat during examination without the permission of the
invigilator in charge.
11. During the course of examination, the candidate shall be under the discipline and control
of the Centre Superintendent and shall abide by the instructions issued during the
examination by the invigilators or the centre superintendent.
12. The candidate shall not leave the examination room finally until he/she has handed over
his/her test booklet to the invigilator.
13. Candidate found acting in a manner, which in the opinion of the invigilator, is liable to give
unfair advantage to another candidate, shall be forthwith suspended from the examination
by the Centre Superintendent.
14. The invigilators, the flying squad and the examination supervisory staff shall be competent
to take search of any candidate to find out whether the candidate possesses any
objectionable material. Refusal by the candidate to be searched would raise the
presumption that he/she is in possession of objectionable material. A candidate
possessing objectionable material or resisting search shall be punishable as per rules
concerning unfair means.
15. Candidate resorting to use of unfair means shall be turned out of the examination
hall/room and the examination shall be treated as cancelled as a whole. The centre
supervisory staff shall be judge to determine whether unfair means have been resorted to.
He will submit the report stating full facts of the case of unfairness to the convener of
examinations for further necessary action.
16. Smoking and other intoxicants are strictly prohibited in the examination hall/room.
17. Candidate should note carefully that there will be no re-evaluation of the test booklet.
18. Merit of the candidates will be displayed / uploaded on University website.

COUNSELING

All eligible candidates standing in merit of Pre-PG Test 2019-20 shall report positively on
notified date for Counseling before a committee constituted by the Dean and Chairman
Faculty under his Chairmanship, which shall prepare the final merit list for admission in each
subject as given below:
1. The Candidates will not be issued any letter for counseling.
2. The candidates who stand in Merit List in the declared result on the University website are
advised to positively attend the counseling on the scheduled date and time.
3. There is no provision of TA/DA to the candidates by the University.
4. The admission to various programmes will be done strictly on the basis of merit-cum-
reservation as applicable.
5. The candidates eligible for counseling will be asked for their option and entertained only
for that subjects/College/Institute for which the vacancy is available at the time of their
counseling.
6. Candidate securing equal marks in the PRE-PG Test 2019-20 will be admitted in the
following order of preference: one who has secured more marks in the Master’s /
Bachelor’s Degree examination / Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent.
• The University reserves the right to admit or reject admission of any candidate without
assigning any reason.
• Admission of the candidates who have passed qualifying examination from a University of
the state other than Rajasthan will be provisional, till the eligibility certificate is issued by
the University.
• If for reason to be recorded in writing the admission committee suspects that a particular
candidate has obtained a certificate by mis-representing facts, matter will be referred to
the concerned D.M. On receipt of the enquiry report, the admission committee would take
the final decision regarding the admission of the candidate.
• Document not found confirming to requirement may lead to disqualification.
• At the time of counseling, the candidate who is called for allotment of the seat must
present himself before the committee and if allotted the seat after verification of the
documents, must deposit the prescribed fee in the form of demand draft/ cash / in any
other prescribed manner failing which the seat will be allotted to the next candidate in the

merit.
• The candidate failing to report in the college after admission on stipulated date will not be
further entertained and his total amount of fees will be forfeited.

Note:
1. Please note that mere fulfillment of a minimum requirement by a candidate does not
give him/her right to admission.
2. The university also reserves the right to deny admission to candidate without assigning
any reason whatsoever.
3. Candidates found admitted on the false statement or false evidence of any kind will
render themselves to dismissal from the college at any time.
4. Following candidates shall not be eligible for admission:
i. Against whom criminal case/proceeding is pending.
ii. Who have been convicted of criminal offence or released on bail.
iii. Who have indulged in misbehavior?
iv. Against whom a FIR has been lodged by University/Constituent college authorities.
5. Reservations will be given as per rules of Government of Rajasthan.

Verification of documents
The candidates must bring compulsorily following original documents for verification on
the day of counseling along with one set of self-attested photocopies (both sides of
documents) :
i. Four identical colour photographs which should be same as uploaded for online
application form.
ii. Admit card of Pre-PG Test- 2019-20.
iii. Mark sheet and certificate of Degree (B.V.Sc. & AH or / and M.V.Sc) as
applicable.
iv. Mark sheet and certificate of Senior Secondary School Examination.
v. Mark sheet and certificate of Secondary School Examination.
vi. Character certificate issued from the college last attended and from where
qualifying examination passed.
vii. Caste certificate from the competent authority, if applicable.
viii. Physically Handicapped Certificate from competent authority as per provision, if
applicable.
ix. Domicile certificate of Rajasthan state.
x. Annual Income certificates of parent / Guardian of the student wherever required.
xi. No Objection Certificate from Employer (Competent authority) if employed.

Medical examination
All the candidates provisionally admitted to M.V.Sc./ Ph.D. will have to submit Physical
Fitness certificate from Medical Jurist of Govt. Hospital/Medical College. The admission of
candidates found unsuitable in Physical Fitness will be cancelled. In such cases fee will be
forfeited.

The candidates who stand in Merit List in the declared result on the University website are
advised to positively attend the counseling on the scheduled date and time. There is no
provision of TA/DA to the candidates by the University.

Issue of Admit Card: The Admit Card will not be sent to the candidates by post. The
candidates have to download Admit Card from the website of the University.

Applicant should bring the following documents at the time of examination, positively
(i) Admit Card
(ii) Printed copy of uploaded application form
(iii) Photo I.D. proof (Aadhar Card/Driving license/Voter I.D. card/PAN card/
Passport)
IMPORTANT
Candidates are advised to fill up the application form carefully. In case of incomplete
or wrongly filled forms, the fee deposited will not be refunded. They are also advised to print
a copy of the on-line uploaded application form and Proof of Payment of fee (NET
banking/Credit card /Debit Card) for their personal records. It may be used any time in
support of having submitted application and examination fee.
