Human Resource Management Policy at Square: Human resource management issue is now

a vital element for every company. It is especially obvious for the manufacturing industries.
Human resource policy of Square Pharmaceutical Limited will ensure to retain the best and
effective employees at all level of the hierarchy. Now in the competitive global market human
resource is the most welcomed resource than other resources. Therefore, to motivate and update
the employees of Square Pharmaceutical Limited it has developed. Its own compensation policy,
training and development policy, recruitment and selection policy, and career development policy
and soon. It is believed that through utilizing the human resource policy it will able to attract and
retain more employees to reach its target with a short period.
Recruitment Policy in SPL: Recruitment involves the preparation of HR and goes hand in hand
with the selection process by which companies determine the suitability of applicants for different
jobs. Without adequate planning, organizations can recruit the wrong number or form of a staff.
Through efficient recruiting to create a large pool of candidates, even the most robust selection
system is of little use. Recruitment is a mechanism in which companies can find and recruit
individuals to fill a position, hire new employees to replace those who quit or are promoted, acquire
new skills, and allow for organizational growth. Recruitment is an even more critical task when
unemployment rates are low, and economic growth is high, as companies struggle to recruit the
qualified employees they need to succeed. Recruitment could be quite costly.
For Square Pharmaceutical Limited organizations, recruiting takes place throughout the year
whenever required or appropriate. It could be more than that once a year. The business recruits
staff from outside sources at all stages. Square Pharmaceutical Limited consists of seven
divisions, namely: Marketing Department, IT Department, Quality Management Department,
Personnel and Administration Department, Technical and Service Department, Commercial
Department and Accounting and Finance Department. Each department has its heads and
executives.

 In the case of executive positions, professional, experienced, and trustworthy


workers are recruited from outside.
 In the marketing department, the company fills higher positions only through internal
promotion.
 Fresh graduates are hired at the entry to the position of medical promotion officer.
The organization does not seek any experience with the recruitment of entry-level
employees.
 Preliminary interview, written test, and final interview; medical promotion officers are
chosen temporarily. The temporarily selected applicants are then sent for six weeks
of induction training.
 Upon completion of the training, employees shall be named for a probationary period
of six months.
 After completion of the probationary period, the company undertakes a performance
review and permanently hires qualified employees.
Selection Process: Every organization wants to have the best staff. The team of the best
employees will be able to make it easier for companies to achieve greater success. The
selection of the best employee is, therefore, a significant and critical aspect for the organization.
Selection takes place after the recruiting stage. The company determines who's going to be
recruited. Among a significant number of employees, the best ones were short-listed. The
selection process, however, varies from organization to organization. They will collect blanks of
the application and perform short and formal interviews. Employees can also take help from
assessments, interviews, assessment centers, background checks, etc. The second step,

Comprehensive Interview with the Board of Directors. It is named Viva Directors.
That Square is a leading national corporation; the Board of Directors is comprised of
owners and shareholders.
 These members of the Board of Directors shall make a final decision on the selection
of employees from the participants.
This is the final selection process for Square Pharmaceutical Limited.
Training and Staff Development Process: Training involves the acquisition of knowledge and
learning skills by employees, which they will be able to use instantly, and the development of
staff requires learning that will benefit the company and its employees later in their careers.
Training and Staff Development Strategy for Square Pharmaceuticals Limited:
Training and staff development is now an essential aspect for every organization to improve and
make the workforce competitive in the company to compete effectively and efficiently. Square
Pharmaceutical Limited will carry on a training and development plan for all levels of the
workforce. It will be performed based on results and the basis of the situation. It will highlight the
need to upgrade its staff through an external training center as it does not have a private
training institution. In this situation, those who receive training must retain a permanent contract,

Training & Staff Development allows staff to improve their skills and keep them up to date with
recent changes. SPL offers both on-the-job and off-the-job theoretical and practical training
opportunities through a variety of local, regional, and international training programs, both
functional and administrative, focused on training needs assessment. Department Heads and
Human Resources Department perform training Need Assessment (TNA) based on a
collaborative task assessment.
Management Development Training Around the year, management development training is
conducted for managers and executives at Corporate Headquarters, Dhaka Unit & Pabna Unit.
Training sessions are conducted by their own and renowned resource professionals from home
and abroad. SPL also send their staffs to renowned local specialized training institutes.
Overseas Training SPL send their employees abroad for a training program depending on the
availability of relevant topics. Technicians of SPL's factories are taking part in the Factory
Assessment Test (FAT) in different parts of the world for the smooth operation of equipment
types.
Conclusion: Usually, SPL only recruits staff for all-level jobs because they believe in the internal
growth of their current employees. Therefore, it is understandable that SPL prefers their current
employees first. It is also true that SPL has several good employees who are talented as well as
committed to the organization. They have excellent communication skills because of it's active
recruiting and selection process. Before taking employees, they analyze on that position. They
find out the responsibilities they should perform and what is required to perform those activities.
Square Pharmaceutical Limited has structured planning for those processes as they conduct the
operations in different steps. For this reason, they have to spend time, money, and an immense
amount of effort, but finally, they can get the perfect employees for their organization.
