METHODOLOGY OF EXTENSION OF SLAB CULVERT

 Dowel bar 32mm dia @ 1000 mm c/c (transverse direction) in two rows
has to be provided 400 mm into raft and 600 mm below ground (1000 mm
length).
 Existing abutment wall will be chipped vertically or stepped so that
extended wall can be properly bounded. After concreting gap has to be
grouted with cement mortar 1:3.
 RCC Bed block has to be anchored with PCC Abutment/Pier
Extension.with 8mm dia rods at regular interval (say at 500mm c/c in two
rows)
 Top level of wall to be checked for revised thickness of slab.
 Chamber of 2% has to be provided on top of slab.
 Existing slab has to be broken for 300 mm width and distributor
reinforcement of both slabs should be overlapped with anchor bend and
then continually concreted.
 Tar paper bearing and asphaltic plug expansion joint has to be provided.
 75 mm thick wearing coat (cc) will be provided over both existing slab and
extension with nominal reinforcement of 8mm dia at 150mmcc at bottom.
 Reinforcement for top slab has to be as per standard MORTH drawing for
6.4m effective spam .Slab thickness shall be 500mm.
