Rationale:

The total overhaul of our educational system due to major development such as the
implementation of K-12 Curriculum prompted the Department of Education to devise an
appropriate framework on teacher quality and teacher development that could cope with the
attributes and demands of 21st century learners. The development of the Philippine Professional
Standards for Teachers (PPST) and PPST-Based RPMS that nowadays served as blueprint in the
delivery of quality and sterling basic education to our clientele is a matter of optimum importance
and has to be embraced by the teaching workforce. In this context, it is but fitting for teachers to
discover and learn the basics of this framework so that their teaching practices will be aligned with
the national standards. In the course of their teaching career, these domains of practice are
inevitable, thus they need to discover the essentials in it, grow with it and enjoy working with the
standards. It is for this reason that teachers have to be fully apprised with the nitty-gritty in the
adoption and eventual practice of PPST-Based RPMS.

Objectives :

1. To reinforce the knowledge and understanding of School Heads and Teachers on the RPMS
Tools and Processes.
2. To have a common understanding and universal practice on the concepts, protocols
policies and processes of PPST-Based RPMS.
