Types of computer

Micro Computer;

Features of personal computer

 Small Size
 Low costly
 Technology (microprocessor )

Mini Computer
Minicomputer are mini-mixed computer, In terms of size and power, minicomputer are
ranked below mainframes. A minicomputer is a multiprocessing system capable of supporting
from 4 to 200 users simultaneously.

Main Frame
These are large and expense computer types capable of supporting hundreds or even
thousands of users simultaneously.

Super Computer
 Super computer are very expensive, very fast, and the most powerful
computer we have in a world.
 Super computer are those which can perform trillion of operations per
second.

Storage
Whereas memory refers to the location of short-term data, storage is the component of
your computer that allows you to store and access data on a long-term basis.
Usually, storage comes in the form of a solid-state drive or a hard drive.

Types of storage
 Primary storage
 Secondary storage

Primary storage
Such as RAM

Secondary storage
Such as hard drive

Input devices
Input devices take data from the 'outside world' (i.e. outside of the computer) and send it
to the Central Processing Unit for processing. Data can be collected and entered into a computer
in a range of ways. These include, for example, a keyboard, a mouse, a graphics tablet, a touch
screen, a bar code reader, a magnetic stripe reader and so on. So data from the world outside of
the computer is entered into the computer system using ‘input devices’.

Output devices
Every computer system will need to have a way of displaying information or printing
information out so that it is useful to humans. There needs to be, therefore, some ‘output
devices’. A very useful output device is a VDU (or Visual Display Unit). Another handy one that
allows you to produce ‘hardcopy’ (i.e. a printout on paper) is a printer. It is possible that you also
need an audio output. Speakers or headphones would be useful in these circumstances!
