INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES
Warm-up Resources/Materials Time
Teacher uses sign flash card and notices (images projected) and ask Video beam
students what they have in common. The teacher continues doing this
until the students get to the conclusion that some are related to
obligations or rules.

Core activities
Pictures
 Teacher places some images on the board of signs and App Teacherman
notices. Students already had them on the app TEacherman so
they had time to find out where each sign or notice can be
found. Teacher choses students randomly and asks where
each sign or notice can be found.
 Then, the teacher asks the students to open Teacherman app
on the reading section and students are encouraged to read a
short reading of a person’s experience with signs and
encourages students to answer questions about the reading
regarding the main topic and specific details.
 The teacher asks students to look at the pictures and
sentences presented in the App and asks them to match
where each sign or notice can be found.
 A video about the difference between things you have to do
and mustn’t do is shown. The video will be on Teacherman
app. Students had already the opportunity to see this video at
home and were asked to think about if what people do is right
or wrong.
 The teacher continues giving an example of things we must,
have or should do in our context. Later students are asked to
suggest what they believe they must, have and should do at
home, in the street or in public places. They are encourages to
write short sentences in cards so they can share them on the
board and the rest of the class can give opinions and say if
they agree or disagree. Students are always encouraged to
participate orally.
 Later as project students in pairs ask students to portray the
society they would like to live in. They must write the rules for
this new society. They can use pictures from magazines, or any
other resource they want to and locate the signs and notices
they would like to see in their city, school, at home or in any
other place they have access to. Each project will be
presented and all the students can go around the classroom to
vote for the favorite society. Voting can be done through the
App Teacherman individually.

Closure
Students design sings for places at school that foster sympathy,
honesty, tolerance etc. For example: We love or library lady, No parking
here, etc
Students write personal problems on a slip of paper. They do not write
their names on the paper so the problems remain anonymous. Put
them into a hat and mix them up. Each student then chooses a
problem and must write a piece of advice in response. Then they read
out the problem and the answer.
