Purlin Design

This document summarizes the design of purlins for a roof with a 4.57m simple span length. It calculates loads on the purlin from dead load, live load, and wind load. It selects a C 100x50x20x2.3 purlin that meets requirements for section modulus, tensile and shear stresses, and deflection. It also designs sag rods in the middle of the purlin span to resist the calculated moment.
