Money: You can use your Master/Visa Credit cards %90 of restaurants&shops in Istanbul. However it is
advised to have some Turkish Liras with you since public museums/transportation only accept TL. You can use
Euro/USD in most of shops,taxis and hotels. In Airports Exchange offices, there is commission or not good rates. In
the area of Grand Bazaar or Spice Market, you can find the best Exchange rates in Istanbul without any commission.
We as Esans Hotel accept cash payments in TL, Euro or USD as well as credit cards. There are many ATM machines in
Istanbul. You can withdraw Money easily in ATM machines or banks in Istanbul.
Taxi: Taxis only accept cash payment in TL, Euro or USD. Not possible to pay with credit card. As in all around
the world, some covetous taxi drivers may intend to drive more distance than you need to cost higher. To overcome
this issue, we recommend you to take a taxi from the stations and note their plate numbers. Station taxi drivers are
easily found or if you forget any belongings, you can reach them again through their stations. If you cannot find taxi
station nearby, you can ask any close Hotel, Plaza, Business Centers’ entrance clerk to call a taxi for you. They will call
a taxi from a Station whose address is certain. As Esans Hotel, we have Private Transfer service options from/to
Airports or Cruise Piers.
Public Transportation: All important sights are in walking distance in old city Istanbul. However you may like
to go to Taksim area,Asian Side of Istanbul or other parts.You need to get jetons for tramway,metro or ferries. There
are jetonmatics machines in each station. You need to have Turkish Lira to buy jetons from machines. We would
recommend you to get an “Istanbul Card” which is valid for all public transportation in Istanbul. (Tramway, Metro,
Train, Ferry, Bus, Tunnel…etc) With this card there is a %30 discount on the prices in transportation vehicles
comparing to jeton pricing. You do not need to buy one card for each person. You can use only one Istanbul Card for
two or more people. When you show it in the entrance toll gate of any transportation, the amount will be deducted
from your credits in your card and you will see the remaining credit. In our website contact section, we have

Eating: Normal dinner time is around 19-21 o’clock for Turkish people.There are many options nearby our
Hotel. (Seafood, Kebap and Vegeterian) Depending on your selection, we can recommend you restaurants.
Tipping: There is no certain level. It totally depends how you liked it. It can be Zero, or %10 or more.
Drinking Water: Although the water is chlorinated in Istanbul, it’s recommended to drink bottled
mineral water. Mineral water is widely available and reasonably cheap in Istanbul.
Tours: Whether or not you decide to take a tour in Istanbul depends on your personal preference. While
some visitors like to have a pre-arranged package or custom tour with an expert guide, others prefer to organize
their trip themselves. We try our best to give detailed information for both options.

Voltage: We have 220Voltage. Please make sure your devices work with 220V. We also have US plug in each
hotel rooms.
Visiting Mosques: Touristic visits are allowed till 18:00 in winter or 20:00 in summer time. Ladies needs to
have head scarf to cover hair. There are many scarves to borrow at the entrance.
